"Since the start of September, Manchester United have created less than Stoke City, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth"

thats an incredible stat. was pogba really at the heart of everything united did?

Yep, pretty much. Him playing has a knock effect for the rest of the team, a bit like Kante with Chelsea

He’s the link between defence and attack. People may give him stick because of the price tag but at the end of the day he makes a massive difference to the team.

Reports that Pogba will be back immediately after the International break might be perfect timing then for potential Lukaku buyers.

Can't read too much into that, Jose was never going on the front foot against the better teams.

Chelsea was the exception not the rule.

I think that is all down to Mourinho's tactical setup vs stronger sides in a recent fixtures. Pogba did matter but it's not all because of his injury.

    9. makaveli123
      • 10 Years

Combination of many things imo. Pogba injury, Mkhi's drop in form, Herrera is less influential than last season, fixtures and mentality against the best sides..

Herrer is never influential when United is attacking. He defends well and very discipline, makes organization of the team easy. He only makes short tidy passes, but after that he runs to find spaces, he let the man that he passes on to create. He rarely dares to make creative passes such as speculative long ball or through balls.

As a Utd fan I've maintained from the start of the season that top 4 is the aim, spurs city and Chelsea are better teams than us. Title talk made me laugh at the start after matching the worst teams in the league.

Pogba is a big miss but fpl wise I think there are better value players.

In real life, his presence gives its a big boost although some of his decision making can be bang average.

      1. Freddo
        • 9 Years
        8 years, 8 months ago

Top 4 being the aim doesn't quite cut it when you look at the money he's spent.

If he don't win the league, he's failed and should be fired.

        1. @persecuted_by_mods
          8 years, 8 months ago

Oh i didn't mean that, Mourinho needs a top 2 finish and a genuine run at the title/ or to go far in the champs league

But looking at the squad its 3rd or 4th for sure, have been gobsmacked by how many people thought a title was realistic

        He is not even close!

He was getting consistent this season but as soon as he got exceptional he had a hammy. This was his third hamstring pull and he is still 24...if he continues this trend of injuries I have to agree with you he wont be even a top 100 player :/

Audacity is a free recording software if on Windows. Nothing special but it is free. Pretty straightforward to then just upload audio files to soundcloud/youtube/your own website (and probably spotify and itunes under "podcasts" but never done that).

The guys from WGTA do a podcast so may be useful than me

Voice memo's app maybe? If not I'm sure there's free apps on Google Play/App store depending on what phone you have

Probably a soundcloud app you can upload directly into

    Question about FPLS

Take Ota for example. Currently on -40.

Lets say WC's are responsible -20 worth of his delta.

Come Friday week (night before deadline day) he's at -100

Have the WC transfers out been accounted for at this stage or will they not be able to calculate the WC transfers until the deadline passes, therefore he would only have reached -80 on the Friday night but FPLStats had know way of knowing.

Or do they have a way of knowing?

    1. Frank Koscielny

I thought the whole idea was that wildcard transfers aren't supposed to affect the changes in price.

They don't, I'm asking do FPLS stats have a way of knowing who's transferring him out on WC or not?

Transfers usually slow when people on WC, i remember people looking like rises and falls tend not to rise and fall as quickly, so possibly their algorithms doesn't account for WCs

      Luiz to Rudiger
      Davies to Walker

Crazy talk! I would only consider getting rid of Luiz (but wait for more news) and Davies (although likely to start v Arsenal so not immediately pressing) from those. Firmino plays for a team which scores goals for fun; Speroni plays for one of the worst defensive teams in the league; Alli is a great option and now comfortably the cheapest way into the Spurs attack; Fab's minutes appear far from nailed, although Lanzini probably not the best option.

Assuming you have two FTs and £0 ITB, what about

        Luiz
        Davies
        Lanzini

        to

        Richarlison
        Jones
        Azpi

Morata. He is provided a wide berth of chances; although Hazard has good baseline bonus, if Morata scores, as he's a forward, he will immediately accumulate a good bonus.

I'm not gonna jump on him but he's looking a better option than Dann over the Christmas period and Palace if Palace shape up at the back then they are a better defensive unit than Bournemouth so imo, Dann could be the better option. Wait and see for me though as I'm wasting a transfer until I'm set

Found myself thinking the other day, does anyone look at teams in their MLs who have played TC/BB/FH and knock points off their total?

For example, I'm about 30 off top in one cash league but he has played his TC (for a Jesus 3 point total return). Consider him to be about 5/10 clear in the overall scheme of things
In the same league, second place is 10 ahead of me but has used his FH. I consider myself to be be far better placed than him.

Am I alone in these thoughts?

      1. Going Home
        • 14 Years

This is the issue. The FH chip I see as guaranteed free points in a BGW, as it is unlikely that anyone will get 11 out without hits. The TC relies a little more on luck, but something like Sanchez destroying Stoke and Sunderland again this year would be greatly appreciated

        1. Pep says
          • 10 Years
          8 years, 8 months ago

The free hit chip is currently immeasurable.

Last season I got shafted with players like Phillips and Stanislas.

Some who had Mawson King and Kaku (c) did quite well that week. If you only had those 3 players then you were above average.

So it'll all come down to luck. If I'd had my FH last season, I would have had these 3 players (not hindsight, Mawson had been scoring in previous games, as had King) but I was afraid to take anymore hits than I'd already taken

Some people will have used their FH chip to huge advantage in any given GW. Come the blank GW, they may just happen to have the 3 or 4 key players who will result in them doing just as well as people with the FH chip, so he's better off in perspective.

Some people used the chip to end up with a worse score than their actual team. Come the blank GW, they could get hurt by injuries and end up doing poorly in the blank GW also.

Or you'll have people somewhere in the middle. So, whatever people do, it'll work for some, it'll be horrible for others, and there'll be plenty somewhere in the middle.

For me, holding the free hit is important. Even though I dont know how it'll play out, I know I will avoid the headache of planning 2 months in advance to get players in and ignoring players with better potential who have a blank GW coming up. I can play my game looking at the best options and moving on these guys and when the blank comes, if my team has 2 players playing, welcome FH Chip. I might pick the wrong players on it, but at least I'll field 11 and won't have to worry about my team before or after the blank
