We bring you new of another December big-money contest on offer from our partner game Yahoo for Fantasy managers, as well as giving you a heads-up on the upcoming FFScout Holiday Cup.

Yahoo are offering a Premier League £3k Saturday contest which takes in all of six matches from 3pm onwards, finishing with the 5.30pm evening between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur at the Etihad Stadium.

The contest is guaranteed to run, costs £5 to enter and is a multi-entry game, which means you can select up to six teams. The top 173 places pay out – there’s a minimum win-back of £10, with £300 going to the first place.

Meanwhile, the FFS Holiday Cup is free to enter and is a single-entry contest. Spanning four rounds of fixtures – Gameweek 19-22 – it gets underway next Saturday at 12.30pm, when Everton host Chelsea in the early kick-off.

The top 20 points scorers overall and top 15 per round will share £500. Scoring will be cumulative across all rounds, with your one lowest score being dropped.

Click here to get involved and find out more details.

Driven by Opta data, the Yahoo game has a unique scoring system that’s tailor-made for those in our community on the lookout for a Daily Fantasy Sports game.

New players can sign up and claim a free £50 in credit to your account when you deposit just £5. Promo code: Fantasy50.

We also recommend having a read of our Strategy Guide before selecting your line-ups, as this gives you a better idea of the Yahoo game and the types of players who tend to benefit.

FFS Strongest XI

Thibaut Courtois – £15
Marcos Alonso – £16
Sead Kolasinac – £15
Jose Holebas – £13
Kevin De Bruyne – £25
Eden Hazard – £25
Xherdan Shaqiri – £20
Pascal Gross – £16
Alexandre Lacazette – £20
Richarlison – £20
Marko Arnautovic – £15

A home clash with Southampton persuades us to double up on the Chelsea defence, with Thibaut Courtois getting the nod between the posts. The Blues have conceded just once in their last three at Stamford Bridge and entertain a side with just 15 shots on target away from home – the third worst record in the league. Courtois also benefits from the Yahoo scoring system, with goalkeepers earning double the number of points as defenders for a clean sheet, as well as points for wins or draws.

We also call upon Marcos Alonso among the Chelsea contingent. The top defender for shots (28), efforts in the box (18) and attempts on target (eight), he’s already found the net on three occasions. The Spaniard also fares well when compared with team-mates – he’s the Blues’ second top player for both crosses (54) and interceptions (25) ahead of the Saints’ visit.

Rested for the midweek draw at West Ham, Sead Kolasinac looks set to be unleashed from the start as Arsenal play host to Newcastle United. All of the left wing-back’s attacking returns (one goal, four assists) have arrived in front of his own fans, while a total of eight shots in the box at home is just one behind Alonso at the summit. The summer signing also offers a strong chance of defensive points, given that the Gunners have five clean sheets in their last seven at the Emirates Stadium.

A home encounter with Huddersfield offers Jose Holebas the chance of points at both ends of the pitch. The Watford left-back is ranked joint-top for crosses (94) and successful crosses (19) among defenders and has earned three assists so far. He faces a Terriers attack that has struggled on their travels, failing to score away from home since Gameweek 1.

Kevin De Bruyne is the only player to make the cut from the 5.30pm encounter between Man City and Spurs. Up against a defence with a single clean sheet in their last six road trips, the Belgian has the form to punish Mauricio Pochettino’s side. No player has produced more shots on target (eight) or created more chances for team-mates (16) over the last four Gameweeks.

Eden Hazard is our third and final Chelsea pick for the Southampton encounter. The Belgian has flourished in a central attacking role in recent matches, producing four goals and two assists in his last five league starts – including a brace at home to Newcastle in his previous Stamford Bridge appearance. The Saints, meanwhile, arrive in dire defensive form, with just a single clean sheet in the last 12 Gameweeks.

Like Hazard, Stoke’s Xherdan Shaqiri has excelled thanks to a change of position this season. Stationed in a central support role, the Swiss international has already delivered four goals and five assists for the Potters ahead of a home match with West Ham. The Yahoo scoring system favours Shaqiri’s game – he’s produced more successful crosses (24) and efforts on target (16) than any team-mate. With 33 key passes and as many shots on goal, he looks key to breaching the visitors’ improved rearguard.

If Brighton are to prosper at home to in-form Burnley, Pascal Gross is sure to be a pivotal figure. When on the pitch, the summer signing has scored or assisted 67% of his side’s home goals, serving up three goals and a trio of assists at the Amex Stadium. Monopolising dead-ball duties for the Seagulls, he’s produced more crosses (99), successful crosses (28) and key passes (31) than any team-mate.

Handed a midweek sub role away to West Ham, Alexandre Lacazette is set to return to Arsenal’s XI for the visit of Newcastle. The Frenchman’s consistency at home has caught the eye – he’s scored or assisted in six of his eight appearances at the Emirates, while no player has scored more times (six) in front of their own fans. He faces a Magpies defence that’s shipped nine goals in their last three road trips and has one clean sheet in 13 Gameweeks.

We’ll be keeping an eye on the teamsheet at Vicarage Road tomorrow, with Watford’s Richarlison currently still a doubt to face Huddersfield. Another player to benefit from the Yahoo scoring system, he’s the league’s most fouled player (51) and has also registered an impressive 32 successful tackles, in addition to five goals and six assists. His visitors, meanwhile, have conceded at least twice in each of their last five away matches.

West Ham’s Marko Arnautovic has the form to punish former club Stoke at the bet365 Stadium. Handed a role up front by David Moyes in the last two Gameweeks, he’s produced seven of his side’s 11 shots over that period and five of their seven efforts in the box. Having fired the recent winner against Chelsea, he now faces a defence that’s conceded 36 times this season – more than any other side.

As Yahoo allows late swaps up until each kick-off, our listed line-up could be subject to change

The Weekend Contests

The Premier League £3k Saturday contest isn’t the only big-money game on offer to Yahoo managers this weekend.

They also have a Premier League £1.5k Sunday contest on offer, which covers both Sunday matches and also takes in the Monday evening encounter between Everton and Swansea City at Goodison Park.

This is also guaranteed to run, costs £5 to enter and is a multi-entry game, which means you can select up to three teams. The top 82 places pay out – there’s a minimum win-back of £10, with £150 going to the first place.

Yahoo are also running a Premier League £1,000,000 Perfect Lineup Cup, which takes place over Gameweek 1-19.

It’s free to enter, with £500 in prizes and £50 for the best team every week. Over the 19 Gameweeks, there’s £40k in prizes on offer, with £30k shared among the top 5,000 and £10k going to the winner.

The Yahoo Cup also has a “£1,000,000 challenge”, which gives away £1m to any user who selects the perfect line-up in any given Gameweek to score the maximum possible points.

You can open an account and get started immediately.

If you register and deposit £5 or more, Yahoo will also give you a £50 bonus to be used as cash to enter paid contests.

Register here to claim the bonus.

You must be over 18 years of age, resident in the UK, and of legal capacity to register with Yahoo Daily Sports and open an Account. If you sign up, please always play responsibly.

And don’t forget to reserve your place in the Fantasy Football Scout Holiday Cup, which starts in Gameweek 19.

Thinking of playing Mariappa instead of Kane?
    Is that madness?
I reckon Mariappa has a decent chance of getting me 6 pts. Kane is virtually certain to just get 2 pts.

    Repost

Richarlison is available, despite being substituted at Crystal Palace in midweek owing to fatigue, and Miguel Britos is fit but Kiko Femenia misses out because of an injured hamstring.

What do you think is better way to bounce back from terrible gw?

    A. Ward>Masuaku (no other pressing matters at the back, could easily bench Ward)

    B. Jesus>Laccazette(c) . Much more maverick but could pay off big. I’m sick of Jesus. He should’ve been Morata by now but spaniard got injured and I dont feel comfortable transfering him in now. Maybe next gw, but that makes Lacca very short time punt.
