Fantasy Football Scout Charity Football Event

The first ever Fantasy Football Scout charity football event is now booked for Saturday 24th February, 12-2pm, at Hendon Football Centre, Great Strand, Barnet, NW9 5PE.

This is easily accessible from the M1 and A1 (the Centre has on site-parking). For those coming by train/ underground, Mill Hill Broadway (Thameslink) and Colindale (Northern Line) are less than a mile away.

The aim is to get 20-30 players together of mixed ability for a fun three round-robin in which each team will play two 40(ish) minute matches. It is seven aside and on a 3G pitch.

Afterwards, we will definitely be having a drink and we may even organise a FFScout quiz (both optional). Mark is hoping to make an appearance during the day (TBC) but has very kindly agreed to pay the pitch hire fee.

This is a charity fundraiser in memory of FFSscout regular, Simon Humber (Absinthe) who passed away following a battle against ocular melanoma in May 2015.

The more players the merrier (so feel free to sign a mate or two up to play) but please email me at peter.kouwenberg76@gmail.com if you would like to be involved. I’ve already emailed those whose email address I have, but if you are interested please drop me a line.

All donations from players and spectators will go to Simon’s charity.

Cheers, Doosra, have organised a few of these sorts of events and there is no downside to raising money for charity by playing (badly) a sport I enjoy.

What is Simon’s charity specifically for? E.g. Ocular Melanoma Research?

I would genuinely love to take part but doubt I'll be able to get over from Ireland. Upcoming wedding has a lot of my attention right now 😆

Good luck, I hope it's a great success and becomes an annual event

Priorities! Seriously, good luck with the wedding, though assuming you are the groom the organisation should surely be all down to the bride's family (that's what I found, anyway)?

Why is this being played in the London Borough that brutally destroyed football?

And is Martin Allen turning up?

    Who wins in cup?

Me: 30 - Kane(c), son, eriksen, christensen and hazard

Opp: 50 - Kane and courtois

Points on the board are always better than potential points but you have to fancy your chances, especially as whatever Kane does you will double up over the opponent.

This is a fantastic idea. I am pretty sure I can make it and will email in due course. My fitness level is horrific though, so I hope the same is true of some others!

TM370, it would be great to have you along. I'm mindful of the fact that both fitness and ability will need to be balanced, but it's just a bit of fun and will obviously be roll on - roll off subs (with the emphasis on roll). Email me when you can. Cheers.

Pros and cons about Wildcarding in January? Should you save your WC until the DGW's or can it pay off to use it this month?

    Things to consider:

    - If you WC'd now, would you spend the next gameweeks preparing for a DGW team anyway (So wouldn't get maximum benefit from WC'ing early, as you could end up taking out the players you've put in)

    - For me personally I have a lot of fires to put out (Elliot, Kabasele, Mbemba, Mee, Masuaku) so I'm trying to decide whether a quick WC fix could be as valuable as a WC just before the DGW (and then activating bench boost).

Just wanted your opinions at to whether an early WC could ever outdo a WC just before the DGWs?

    Cheers

Current list of players who have confirmed interest in playing is below (I’ve used FFS name if provided, or just first name and second initial). These players should have received a message from me asking for further info.

Obviously, we want more players along (aiming for 25+) so please email me for details at peter.kouwenberg76@gmail.com if you aren’t yet on the list.

We’ve also had several people who have shown in interest in supporting and/ or donating (but not playing) and we’ll sort out a way to donate ASAP. Thanks.

PS: Haven't forgotten interest above from AnishT28 and TM370. They've either emailed me with their 'real' name (and I haven't put 2 and 2 together) or are due to email me when they can. Ta.

Have you ever considered doing a live scoutcast event for charity?
