The final round of festive fixtures comes to its conclusion at Wembley Stadium as Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham play the second match of their double Gameweek 22.

Much to our collective relief, Harry Kane returns to the hosts’ starting line-up after producing just a single point from his 22 minutes off the bench at Swansea on Tuesday night.

It’s fair to say that the Fantasy Premier League hopes of many managers rely on the Spurs striker this evening.

Not only is he the top captain pick for the Gameweek (24.2%), a hefty 121,000+ Triple Captain chips have been wielded on Kane in light of back-to-back hat-tricks in his previous two starts.

The allure of a double Gameweek has also boosted in interest in Spurs midfield trio Son Heung-min, Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli. All three join Kane on the teamsheet and are also among the top 13 armband picks for Gameweek 22.

The top transfer target for Gameweek 22, with 498,000+ new owners, Son has scored in five of Tottenham’s last six at Wembley, totalling 57 points over those matches.

Eriksen and Alli, meanwhile, bagged an assist and goal respectively in Tuesday’s win at Swansea to continue their improved form.

The Dane has supplied points in six of his last seven outings, while Alli has two goals and four assists in his previous three.

At the back, Ben Davies earns successive starts for the first time since Gameweek 16 as Danny Rose misses out with a knee complaint again.

The big news for the Hammers is that Marko Arnautovic is sidelined with a minor hamstring problem.

Drafted in by over 368,000 for his pair of fixtures, he ends double Gameweek 22 on five points, having earned the assist for Andy Carroll’s late winner against West Brom.

Carroll’s two goals in the Baggies’ clash isn’t enough to keep his role in the XI, though – he drops to the bench as Chicharito leads the line instead.

The Mexican and Manuel Lanzini – who has supplied four assists in his previous five – carry the main threat to a defence that’s looking for their tenth clean sheet of the season.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

So Jay was right about the DGW after all. Everyone got excited about a DGW with games just 48 hours apart. He just didn't expected Kane to get back to back hatricks leading up to it.

As I wrote previously...and so it turned out...

That 48 hour thing was a red herring. Poch (probably) new he was playing a team that had also played only 48 hours before so it was a kinda cancel out situation with rotation a lot less than folk feared.

The changes that did happen were more driven by injury situations than the fact of the gap between.

Why was it a red herring? Spurs played like a side that had played 48 hours before. Nothing to do with rotation, everything to do with tiredness.

Because despite the slower pace they managed a high number of shots at goal. Open play was below their normal standard but the chances for pts was still there...

They did for sure. Spurs managed 43 goal attempts across the two games despite playing below par. I'll settle for those numbers from whatever team I choose to pick my TC from...gladly....and just hope it works out better....

I think it was massive that Spurs had Swansea in their DGW. With Kane's illness, I always thought there was a strong chance Llorente would start that one.

People seem to ignore that Pochettino and Moyes never had to rotate much because they had 1 week to prepare for the first game and had an easy FA cup game following the second game.

Weather and injuries were the main culprits for a mediocre DGW.

    thoughts lads?

    Foster, Speroni.

    Otamendi, Mee, Alonso, Kabasele, Ogbonna

    Alli, Son, Sterling, Arnie, RLC

    Kane, Aguero, DCL

Keepers need looking at but may aswell hold this week imo.

Early thoughts would be a arnie>lingard swap?

i would wait and see if one of the ful backs gets nailed, then you have a bargain. Moreno at 4.4 looks a steal if he cements his place back. VVd is a tad expensive but un the upper hand is he is a baps monster, he scores goal and Liverpool do keep cs. Mostly at home but with VVd i think there will be more cs away, because in away games he wil be much more efficient. Mustafi is injury proned and i actually think LIverpool are better defensively than Arsenal. But VVd needs time so Mustafi for now?

My mini league rank has fallen much in the past few weeks. Made my mind to use the TC for this DGW to make up some ground. Had Kane and Son for the week and since Kane was yellow flagged before the deadline, opted to go TC on Son. It resulted in a decent points tally and recovered substatntially in my mini league. Restored some confidence too.

I think you (like many others) are just blinded by his past seasons. He has been given a consistent go in the team in a role that plays to his strengths. Pressing, counter attack, run at players with pace etc. Not only that but he has movers around him as well that help him. Last season he had Ibra who is the most static player ever. Say what you want about Lukaku but he has decent movement without the ball as shown vs Arsenal: https://streamable.com/p2369

So a lot of factors going for Lingard at the moment and having him as a no brainer for me. Whether the form will last or not is a different question but it would be daft to ignore him currently considering his price. He is a 6.2mid returning like a premium 10m mid.

I currently have the exact funds dor Naughton and TC -> Stones and Lingard. Ideally, I would do TC to Lingard this week for a -4 and leave Stones until next week. But with Naughton set to drop in the coming days, should I get Stones in now or wait and use another transfer downgrading elsewhere?

When it comes to luck vs planning I think the TC chip is the one that leans to luck the most. Whenever you play it you are relying solely on one player, all you can do is plan to maximise their chance of a good score ie double GW, if they still don’t convert it is more down to luck than your plan.

BB you at least have 4 players you are giving the opportunity to haul and both WC & FH chips affect not only a whole team but in theory multiple weeks (4-5 for WC and 3 for FH).

    Midfield is currently:

    Salah - Coutinho - Richarlison - RLC - Sterling.

Want to replace Coutinho, but is it better to go?

    A) Pogba
    B) Lingard
    C) Silva
    D) Other (9.2)

Thank fook I didn't go all out on triple Spurs and triple WHM, don't know how I would've cleaned up that mess. Content with Son+Kane and Ogbonna+Adrian will sit my bench for most of the upcoming weeks.

Morata > Lukaku (C) for Stoke > Aguero the following week ready for Newcastle + West Brom?

No, keep Morata, assess this gw then consider Aguero for Castle and Brom once you've assessed him. No idea why you'd be at pains to bring in Lukaku, last double figure haul in Gw4..

After a triple captain fail with Kane, it hurts but we have to take the risk sometimes, it didn´t pay off but it´s life, game is like this. But I´m thinking to take some risk and captain a differential next GW.

    A) Lingard
    B) Alonso

    Which one?

Do you not think it's these decisions that at the end of a season you look back on realise you took too many unnecessary risks? Lingard and Alonso are great to have in your team already, but it's too much guesswork. Just captain Kane or Salah.

I think that if a player in fpl gets sold abroad then you should be able to sell that player for free. Without it being classed as a transfer used...
