Fantasy Football managers may well be cursing the impact of the FA Cup on their seasons, but we’re hoping that our 16th Fantasy Football Scout Cup can help add some welcome cheer.

This Fantasy Premier League Cup competition will take place over the over the run-in, a period beset by blanks and chips. To add a further twist and to prevent teams entered specifically for this tournament, we are ruling that all entered teams must have been registered for FPL in Gameweek 1.

Once again there are £300 in prizes on offer.

Sign-up can be found here.

The roll call of former cup winners looks like this: donnellyc, Jonty, Gribude, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleeping master, Mch, Wild Rover, Tdubb05 , CMIFLFC, Mark, Leon Harris, A Manager Has No Name, Sleepysi and our new reigning champion, TH14.

As former winners, those listed will gain a bye to the first round of the tournament should they enter with the same username.

If you’re new to our cup competitions, read on for an FAQ, offering all the details.

How does the Cup Competition Work?

The FFS Cup is very similar to the Fantasy Premier League’s own Fantasy Cup game.

Entrants who qualify for the first round will be randomly drawn against each other and the winner of the tie is whoever has the highest score from that Gameweek, minus points spent on transfers (like in the original game and in head-to-head scores).

In the event of a tie, the manager highest in the overall FPL rankings after the tie will progress.

When does it start?

The qualifying round for the Fantasy Football Scout Cup will take place in Gameweek 29, with the first round proper running in Gameweek 30.

Fantasy managers can enter their teams from now right up to 10.30am on Monday March 5, when we’ll stop entries and make the first round draws shortly after.

Previous winners must enter with the same usernames listed above to gain their bye.

How do I enter?

Enter via the entry form here.

You will be sent a confirmation email to verify your entry and you’ll be asked to confirm your FPL team id at the point of entry – please be sure to click the link to verify that your team is correct before confirming. If you FPL team is incorrectly entered, we cannot amend this at a later date.

You entry is only completed once you have confirmed your FPL team Id as part of the process.
To check that you’re entered correctly, please scan the list of entries.

The list is here.

Please note that only teams that have been registered with FPL for Gameweek 1 will be eligible for the competition.

How do I find my FPL team Id?

Your FPL Id is your unique Id for your FPL team. This is found via your Gameweek History page – the link to which is found in the right hand menu under your FPL team strip. When you visit your Gameweek History you will see a number in the URL (as opposed to the XXX below).

https://fantasy.premierleague.com/a/entry/XXX/history

Place this 1-7 digit number, or your Gameweek History URL, in the FPL id field on the entry form.

When will I find out if I’ve qualified?

Results from the Fantasy Football Scout Cup qualifying round will be published shortly after March 5 and then weekly, after the completion of each Gameweek, from that point on.

What is the Gameweek Schedule?

The competition will be played out according to the following proposed Gameweek schedule, though this could be subject to change.

Fantasy Football Scout Cup Round Dates
Qualifying – Gameweek 29
Round 1 – Gameweek 30
Round 2 – Gameweek 31
Round 3 – Gameweek 32
Round 4 – Gameweek 33
Round 5 – Gameweek 34
Round 6 – Gameweek 35
Quarter-Final – Gameweek 36
Semi-Finals – Gameweek 37
Final and third place play-off – Gameweek 38

When are the fixtures released?
Where possible, the fixture list for each round will be published a day or two before each Gameweek deadline.

The first round draw will be made and published shortly after March 5.

Prizes

Overall prizes
The prizes for the cup are as follows:

1st Place: £150 Amazon voucher
2nd Place: £100 Amazon voucher
3rd Place: £50 Amazon voucher

Do I have to enter if I’m previous winner?

Yes, because your FPL team ID will have changed so we will need to record your entry again. As a previous winner, you will be given a bye to the first round proper.

Do I need to be registered with Fantasy Football Scout?

We ask you to supply a FFScout username so we can feature you, as a member of our community, in any articles associated with the tournament.

Ideally, you will already have a username with us, but this is not essential to enter.

You must, however, supply a username for the purpose of the tournament so you can be identified in articles.

You must not change this username throughout the course of the tournament. Should you do so without permission, should you enter multiple teams, or if your FFS account comes under moderation for any reason, we reserve the right to remove you from a tournament at any stage.

    What are Son owners doing?

Slightly concerned that against Rochdale he put out the 2nd XI which featured Son.

Lamela was rested and Moura played pretty well.

I'm getting more concerned by rotation despite his good fixtures....

Keeping for this week because I have other issues but also because if he’s still first choice then he’s not worth selling with those fixtures. If he gets benched for PL this week then I’ll probaly sell him next week.

Probably Pickford although do you still own Kenny ? Coleman, Siggy, Niasse and Walcott are all options too, if Everton find some form over next game week or 2 make sure you have space for attacking assets.

Lossl another option in goal, is rather him than Foster

^ This is WAY wide of the mark ^ Moura will slowly build his minutes up over the rest of the year, with the aim to get him acclimatised for next season. He's no threat to Son. Lamela is on the other hand.

          • 15 Years

It's been mentioned before, but the real threat is Toby coming back and us switching to a 3-4-2-1 again.

He's been our best attacking player this year (bar Kane). I expect him to get rotated a bit due to fixture congestion. He played against Rochdale because he can give us a cutting edge when Kane is rested.

I'm an owner and I'm close to selling, but there isn't a rush to drop him.

    De Gea
    Otta, Jones, Mawson, Gomez, Rosenior
    Sterling, Salah, Eriksen, Shaquiri, Lingard
    Aguero, Firminio, Wilson

    Thinking about:
    A) Lingard -> Doucoure, Aguero -> Kane
    B) A + Jones -> ???? (-4)
    c) A+B+Gomez -> VVD (-8)

Pretty slim. It was hardly Cantona leaping in the crowd. More Cloughie twatting an invader. A lot of sympathy for him.

it'll probably be reviewed and Aguero rather pushed a fan away who should have never been on the pitch anyway.
More like defending himself than assaulting the fan. I doubt he will be banned for that

Problem is, not only does he lash out/hit the fan, he rushes towards him after the fan retreats. Looks like the fan is the one defending himself, and not Aguero.

Settled on these moves if Jones is ruled out for the weekend:

    Jones & Lingard ➡️ Robertson & Walcott

But if Jones is fit would you switch to these moves instead:

    Alonso & Lingard ➡️ Robertson & Mahrez?

If a player went into the crowd to aggressively confront a fan and the fan the player would be held responsible even if the fan reacted. Only fair the same principle applies when fans invade.

Wait for FA. If you haven't got Kane it's very tempting to ditch

Morning All. How does this GW31 team look? I'd be using transfers including a -4 hit. Thanks in advance:

        Foster
        Zanka, Daniels, Bauer, Hegazi
        Salah, Mane, Walcott, Shaqiri
        Firmino, Wilson

I'm not sure if it's worth take a hit to field a full 11 (see below), i'd be tempted to play 10.

Wilson scores against Hegazi & Foster
          Walcott scores against Bauer

This is the reason a lot of BGW planning fails...

or Bauer and WBA keeps a CS and they fail to score? win-win situation?

But then Wilson and Walcott blank

Thanks guys. Those are some interesting points. I might just field 10 and not both with Bauer as his fixtures aren't great apart from GW31 whereas Hegazi at least can be played in the other fixtures.

If as expected there are 4 games in GW31, is this 10 strong enough for that GW ? I've still got the FH chip or could take a -4 to make to make it all full 11, but is there likely to be anybody else who's worth a -4 ?

        Begovic
        VVD, Martina
Salah (c), Walcott, Siggy, Milivojevic, Choupo-Moting
        Firmino, Wilson

Decent looking 10 there. If planning to WC in 32 then may as well take the hit imo - Benteke or a STO defender?

would be lossing Kane for Benteke or Otta for Stoke defender.

Have both Alonso & Jones considering shipping one for a second hit this week. Trouble is replacement will have to be someone like Dawson/ Hegazi. Would you do it?

I wouldn't with Alonso IMO. I would be tempted with Jones as he is an injury concern

So has City's shock FA cup exit changed your chip plans?

no City can still have blanks in GW31 and GW35, and DGW's in GW34 and GW37

Seems unlikely they will blank in 35 with Swansea likely needing to beat Spurs. If City do play in 35 then perhaps less need to Free Hit that week.

I doubt anything anything will come from the incident involving Aguero - if anything that fan will get a ban

Agree. Nothing in it. Wigan will get a slap on the wrist for the pitch invasion.

Worrying reports about the lack of stewards at that type of game.
To be fair if the fans want to invade a pitch no number of stewards could stop it!

10 is enough for BGW31. Even 9 is okay.

Thoughts on what to do here?

        DDG
        Alonso / VVD / Mee
        Salah / Sterling / Lingard / Hazard
        Aguero / Firmino / Wilson

        Elliott / Bauer / RLC / 4.0 def

        1ft, £0.6itb. No FH.

        A) Hazard & Aguero > Eriksen & Kane (-4)

        B) Alonso & Aguero > Vert/Maguire & Kane (-4)

        C) Hazard & Lingard > Eriksen & Walcott (- 4)

        D) Hazard > Eriksen
