With a reduced Gameweek 31 limiting the scope of Big Numbers, we’re taking a new route with our articles for members over the international break.

Our “Monitor” series will focus on some of the top transfer targets set to be involved in the Double Gameweeks and therefore included in Wildcard squads, as we analyse our data to offer an appraisal of their prospects.

We start the series by turning to Arsenal’s Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, a player being lined up by many Fantasy managers as a ready-made replacement for the stricken Harry Kane.

Over 114,000 acquired the Gabon international for Gameweek 31, despite the fact he was without a league fixture.

Since Saturday’s deadline passed and more Wildcards are wielded in anticipation of double Gameweeks, Aubameyang is the most bought player in Fantasy Premier League, collecting a further 110,00 new owners.

With that in mind, we take a look at his impact since arriving at the Emirates over the winter break.

Handed a debut in Gameweek 26, Aubameyang has bagged three goals, an assist and 26 FPL points in five league outings – averaging 5.2 points per match.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

What isn't convincing you? His amazing record? His guaranteed gametime? His excellent fixtures? His xG90 already looking to be higher than Lukaku's for less £? Yeah, better give him a miss.

He will have 8 games between now and the end of the season. No other player will have more. I'm not sure I fully understand the obsession with 1 or 2 DGWs for players unless you either plan to captain (or TC) a player or if it impacts how you might use a Free Hit?

But then does play in 35 and DGW 37. Not to mention great fixtures next two weeks. Swings and roundabouts

Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed his points last two weeks while very few have had him. But that won't last

69 goals in his last 79 appearances for Dortmund. That's nothing to scoff at regardless of which league it's in.

But he plays for Arsenal now, who have to create chances for him. Only looked good against Watford but they were so woeful that anyone would look good.

It's not Dortmund though, it's Arsenal and that's what puts me off tbh but like I say, there's still time to change my mind, some good arguments to having him as opposed to Lukaku I guess if I do go down the Auba route instead will have to make sure I can fit Kane in with 2 FTs...

Salah has blanked 3 times out of 4 in the early Saturday kick off.

    Will you still captain him?

The blanks were against Utd twice and Man City the other time, so that could be the reason.

Can someone put me off Giroud?
Really fancy trying something a bit different and trust Giroud can be Chelsea's strong man until the end of the season.
Plus, Morata is on the suspension tightrope..

      He's not nailed on.

Chelsea's style is to use a front man to bring Hazard and Willian/Pedro into the box.

If they lose to Spurs then the top 4 looks unreachable.

Punting on an in-form Willian is a punt that could really pay off. It's just the threat of rotation. If you were chasing, he could be a good shout

    ??? - Davies - Robertson (Chilwell - Mariappa)
    Salah - Sterling - Mahrez - Son - ???
    Aubameyang - Firmino - ???

    (A) Alonso, Silva, Quaner (Quaner on bench, 3-5-2)

    (B) Van der Hoorn, Carroll, Lukaku (Carroll on bench, 3-4-3)

The defence could do with a bit more attacking threat - you'll be relying heavily on clean sheets.

Maybe drop Frim for Rashford/Vardy to free up some extra cash to spend on a proven attacking defender who can get some attacking points as well as a clean sheet.
