With a reduced Gameweek 31 limiting the scope of Big Numbers, we’re taking a new route with our articles for members over the international break.

Our “Monitor” series will focus on some of the top transfer targets set to be involved in the Double Gameweeks and therefore included in Wildcard squads, as we analyse our data to offer an appraisal of their prospects.

We start the series by turning to Arsenal’s Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, a player being lined up by many Fantasy managers as a ready-made replacement for the stricken Harry Kane.

Over 114,000 acquired the Gabon international for Gameweek 31, despite the fact he was without a league fixture.

Since Saturday’s deadline passed and more Wildcards are wielded in anticipation of double Gameweeks, Aubameyang is the most bought player in Fantasy Premier League, collecting a further 110,00 new owners.

With that in mind, we take a look at his impact since arriving at the Emirates over the winter break.

Handed a debut in Gameweek 26, Aubameyang has bagged three goals, an assist and 26 FPL points in five league outings – averaging 5.2 points per match.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

OK, WC done (for now!). Solid enough? Impossible to get it ideal and still need to see the fixture announcements.

    Planned transfers below too.

    DDG
    Alonso - Mustafi - Smalling
    D. Silva - Salah - Mahrez - Willian - Kenedy
    Lukaku - Aubameyang

    (Fabianski, Barnes, Morgan, Lowton)

    GW33 = D. Silva >> Son
    GW34 = Barnes >> JAyew

Problem is you might get an injury or need to jump on another bandwagon and then if you've lined up transfers 2 weeks in advance you're looking at hits.

True. Food for thought. I have a strong squad so would hope to deal with an injury but I understand if Rom for example gets crocked then I’ll need to take a hit! Hmm! Thanks for the input

Front 8 are pretty perfect , it’s obvious where your paying for it though...

Probly better to save a few million on 1 of them as one will have to benched each week, re-invest savings into defence then.

I have all my chips left and I think a free hit in gw 35 could be a pain in the ass for free hitters in gw31.Do you all think free hitters in gw35 will conquer free hitters in gw31? Looking at the fixtures it looks more appealing I will reckon and it looks like alot will build their squad towards gw 34. That will make it hard in 35 without a free hit

It's not just about gw35, the lead up and aftermath should also be easier to deal with so the combo of both will hopefully make it the better tactic.

FH would have probably cost me points this week so as far as I'm concerned, I've definetly made the correct decision based on the team I have.

      1. AThousandSuns
        • 8 Years
        8 years, 1 month ago

Yes. I agree.I believe you still have your free hit then.We have an advantage over gw31 free hitters. gw 35 should be a blessing

    3. Pooodle
      • 16 Years
      8 years, 1 month ago

I think those using free hits in GW35 will be better off, because there's a lot of teams blanking in GW35 who will have players you want for both 34 and 37.

      1. AThousandSuns
        • 8 Years
        8 years, 1 month ago

I think so as well. 35 could be a scary gw for non free hitters. Better options as well. You are damn right

        1. Pooodle
          • 16 Years
          8 years, 1 month ago

If you don't have a free hit left realistically you're going to have to no more than 3 players from United, Chelsea, Leicester and Spurs which looks tough if you want a good wildcard otherwise.

    Defenders:
    1. Tomkins - played 11, avg. points = 4.5
    2. Otamendi - played 7, avg. points = 4.4
    3. Jones - played 6, avg. points = 4.0
Special mention. Alonso - played 14, avg. points = 3.2

Didn't expect Tomkins to be my best defender this season. My judgement for when to bring in/get rid of Alonso is awful.

Kiko at 5.3ppm for me from 3 appearances was lovely. Alonso still holding solid at 5.3ppm from 15 games.

Less keen on Hazard in particular who averaged 3.2ppm over 6 games in 2 spells for my side, Lingard at 2.4ppm for 5 games, and Daniels and Ake both who I played 5 times at 1.5-1.8ppm!

People want nailed players for the BB chip to be effective, and the CBs aren't great value for money. I mean, they might end up being worth it for the CS points, but that's with hindsight on our side, since it's hard to predict. Also the fact that they play Chelsea this week I think has put a lot off Spurs assets, I would expect to see a few more WC teams with players other than Son next GW.

I’m going to Uganda in May and want to raise money for a school that’s attempting to be built.
Any tips on how to raise money? I am planning a 100 mile bike ride with a friend. If I can raise £10k that will pay for the entire school. I was thinking on using Just Giving or GoFundYouraelf.

Seeing a few going for Mhkitaryan over Silva ...

I guess if we think Aubamayang will prosper it makes sense Mhkitaryan will too...

I think it’s a safer option to WC in Silva (Everton A) and if Mhkitaryan looks hot then switch to him for City’s Utd fixture when Arsenal have Saint at home the following week... thoughts ?

I think its best to avoid both due to rotation. Silva has more of chance of being rested than any mancity asset before and after imp ucl match. Also Arsenal will be kinda poor in league as nothing to play for. And arsenal have shown good fixtures on paper dont matter to them unless they ready to push. So mikhi is risky too.

Elliot doesn't play & 3 Pool players do not have a DGW.
Presuming you have your BB to play?

Still have bench boost. How many pool players should I have?

Salah essential & Firmino depends if he scores more than Vardy who has 2 DGWs

Upgrade Elliott and VVD to Robertson if you’re keen on Pool defender

Yeah was thinking about VVD to Robertson but I have 3 pool players so wouldn't it be smarter to switch to a dgw player? a spurs or chelsea defender?

Chelsea, Spurs, Man United, Southampton, Leicester, Brighton, Swansea.

So basically the 7 PL quarter finalists are the teams with two DGW's right?

    Who has just the one?

What is going on with the fixture announcement, gents?

Why is there a blackout from FFS? At least put in place a holding message.

Is something happening at 10pm or are people trying to wind people up again?
