We continue our series of Monitor members’ articles on Gameweek 34 targets by assessing Brighton and Hove Albion schemer, Pascal Gross.

Although Mohamed Salah has redefined the term “successful debut season”, the German’s rookie campaign deserves its share of recognition.

Following a summer arrival from FC Ingolstadt, Gross has proven himself a standout candidate among budget midfield options. The playmaker has quickly earned a reputation as a premium creative force at the Premier League level, racking up some of the most impressive creativity metrics of any player.

Moreover, with two Double Gameweeks – one confirmed for Gameweek 34, and the latter expected to fall in or around Gameweek 37 – still to come this season, Gross is set to remain at the forefront of plans, with or without the Wildcard at our disposal.

I am a little confused to why most who still have all 3 chips are Bench Boosting in 34 when the fixtures are far more appealing in 37?

Can anyone tell me the logic behind this? i was all about 34 TC FH35 and 37 BB.

Because GW37 could see mass rotation for teams with nothing to play for. That's the case for GW34.

Two week break to wildcard, duff players to get rid of, better TC options in 37.

I’ve got him, doesn’t need to play next week. Slightly cheaper than the other spurs defs and more goal threat. Spurs great run in

Something not right with the situation. Belgium staff saying he’s been fit for a few weeks. Looks to be similar to Walker last year. If players don’t want to play for Spurs, Poch seems to leave them out?

How nailed is Deeney? Thinking of him instead of Barnes. I think if he starts all those 4 games til gw35, he easily gets more points than Barnes with 1 more game.

With the way Burnley do set up I’d say he’s more likely for returns. The last few games have shown this. Wood is a factor though and if he was a sure starter, probably could be a better choice than Murray

I’ve gone with Deeney. Watford have great fixtures, seems to be the new managers preferred choice. Had Wood initially on wc as I think he’ll take Barnes’ place and score well but expect Deeney is the more nailed on choice to play so took the sensible choice

    DdG Ryan
    Alonso Monreal Lowton Morgan Tark
    Salah Mahrez Son Willian Gross
    Aubameyang Vardy Barnes

Enough to do Monreal to Vert & Auby to Lukaku in 34

Settled with this, with 2.5m itb

    DDG
    Lowton - Tarkowski - Mustafi
    Salah(C) - Son - Willian - Mahrez
    Murray - Aubameyang(vC) - Vardy

    Ryan - Gudmundsson - Vertonghen - Morgan

Auba+Mustafi to Lukaku+Smalling/Christensen/Jones whoever looks nailed then in 34

    FH 35

Lukaku to Kane in 36 for free.

    Salah - Son - Willian - Mahrez - Gross
    Barnes - Vardy - Lukaku

    0.9 itb

For 34, 2x ft for Smalling to Vertonghen and Monreal to Christensen. Depending on Smalling prospects and Christensen injury.

    35 FH

I played the WC and at the moment my team is below:

    DDG - Fabianski
    Baily - Otamendi - Davies - Robertson - Ward
    Son - Mahrez - Salah - Willian - McArthur
    Lukaku - Barnes - Firmino

    Bank: 0.2

    is it good?
    my doubts are:

    1) how to change the team step by step to arrive at GW35 with 9-10 players?
    2) for DGW34 is ok?
    3) baily or other defender for Man United?

Do any of you consider dropping Salah for GW34?
One could get Sanchez(?!), Hazard or even a route to get Kane. He will likely not be captain the 34 dgw and with FH you have him for gw35. Lastly I think he would be a poor choice for dgw37 considering his value and all the great dgw options. One could ofc get him for last Gameweek. The big risk ofc the likes of all captaining him in gw36.

    Appreciate any input 🙂

Heaton has very little chance of making it to the World Cup squad. Pickford looks certain to be No1 and Butland his deputy. Pope will be 3rd choice for England and Joe Hart may get in due to his experience. Heaton should not risk a speedy return.

Spent an age looking at different permutations to use BB and TC without the luxury of the Free Hit.

I deffo now feel that BB 34 has to be the way to go and TC in 37. The amount of rotation and nothing to play for scenarios in 37 will mean that most benches will be used/required anyway, so pointless using BB.

WC'ed this week and already saved/made 0.5 which would have priced me out of the team I would want post 33 with other rises sure to follow.

          1. MTPockets

Main issue for me is that all the pricier-player teams have decent 37 fixtures.

A lot of unknows including Mci lineup, but any optimising for that leaves me with an awful bench. May be different for those with better team value.

Am I putting to many trust in Arsenal/Lukaku?

            Cheers

I'm not convinced about Arsenal defence, but that looks a good squad. Probably better than I can afford.

Cheers! I'm not convinced about the double up Mkhi with Aubameyang actually

I'm also undecided on that, but would only be for 32/33. Will probably only end up with one of them as prefer to keep a FT in case something else goes wrong.

For me it basically comes down to Monreal - 7.7 midfielder or 5.0 defender - Son
So place my trust in Arsenal or look elsewhere
