Wildcards are very much active among the ScoutCast crew, and while only three of us make this latest episode, all five are in play ahead of the Double Gameweeks.

Not surprisingly, our rebuilding programme dominates the discussion as Jonty and Andy join me to reveal our current squads and our chosen strategy leading into the remaining seven Gameweeks.

In an exhaustive and in-depth episode, the three of us also look back on the success of the Free Hit in Gameweek 31. Then we attempt to offer a balanced view on the variety of chip tactics from this point on, with a team-by-team analysis of the player targets to consider.

We fail miserably of course, with our own bias no doubt shining through, though the conclusion is an uplifting one: whatever your chosen route with the chips to Gameweek 38, we will all win out in the end.

Unless you don’t have your Wildcard and Free Hit, in which case you’re now consigned to spending the next two months behind the sofa and hate us all anyway.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Anything worth a hit?

    McCarthy
    Lowton - Alonso - Robertson
    Salah - Eriksen - Silva - Mahrez
    Wilson - Aubameyang - Vardy

    Adrian - Walcott - Chilwell - Long

cheers... lack of wildcard explains that!

They all seem to have reasonable fixtures. Will sort out Long next week, I think, so I can BB in 34.

    No free hit..

    DDG, Karius
    Mustafi, Smalling, Maguire, Alonso, Lowton
    Salah, Mahrez, Son, Willian, Gudmunsson
    Firmino, Aubamayang, Murray

I feel like this team has a really nice balance too it. Am I wrong? Too heavy in Defence?

I've strongly considered it - value, alternatives etc.
I've coming to the conclusion it's a decent option but not ideal.
Just rethink your options Bear and if that's the answer so be it but reckon there's better.

I don't know. I like Mustafi but with Kane almost back I feel we need to have cash in the bank and not have too many planned transfers. Mustafi will be playing in Russia 3 days before the GW 34 game against Newcastle. Imagine the thought of getting a 0 on a bench boost because other unplanned transfers came up.

    Bottomed:

What do you reckon guys? All chips remaining with BB pencilled in for 34.

    De Gea, Ryan
    Alonso, Fernandez, Lowton, Morgan, Tarkowski
    Salah, Mahrez, Hazard, Willian, Gudmonson
    Aubameyang, Vardy, Murray

In 34 I will go Aub for Kane using the money from either an Alonso downgrade (to Smalling), or a Hazard downgrade to Son.

Question on the free hit chip.

If you make a transfer, lets say bring in mbemba for alonso, and then later before deadline day make multple transfers and play the free hit chip does your team the next week include mbemba or alonso?

Im starting to think he might end up being the most nailed for league games. bailly and jones will be rested vs bournemouth imo to be ready for spurs 2 days later. atleast one of them shd get a rest and i think he plays vs swansea and ill bench vs city so that leaves west brom

So i think he scores as much as bailly and jones over the four games

      Choose 1) or 2)?

      1) Mustafi and Smalling
GW34: Mustafi and Auba -> Dunk and Lukaku

      2) Bailly and Dunk
GW34: Enough for Auba -> Lukaku + a backup-transfer it any injuries etc.

      DeGea (Ryan)
      Alonso/xxx/xxx (Morgan, Lowton)
      Salah/Mahrez/Son/Willian/Gudmundsson
      Auba/Vardy (Bar

lukaku "potentially" rising tonight is a bit of a headache

doesn't look like silva is going to get his double rise, so ship silva and get lukaku in for now?

Only worth getting Lukaku if you plan to keep for 32.

atm i can't decide but lukaku is potentially one option I am exploring. I would have him over silva in any case. silva was simply in for possible double rise but didn't expect lukaku to rise again so quickly

In that case just Lukaku in to be safe.

Just wondering has your mini league opponents team affected your wild card selections at all . I'm 11 points behind in second place and getting in some players just to cover him and then hoping my other ones close the gap or pass him out.

Im 34 behind my ML leader.
he has WC'd and i and waiting.
His team will be template so i'm hoping my 3 city and 3 Liverpool will dupe him.

Decided to WC GW33 so the dice have been thrown and I'm now trying to live with the price rises.

I've already brought in Auba for GW32 & 33 with the intention of ditching him for Lukaku GW34 after his City away; GW33.

I might have lost the plot as I'm now wondering now whether it's worth -4 for Firmino > Lukaku GW32 to catch his rise in value? I will lose 0.3 on Firmino but I will need Lukaku for the 2 DGWs

    Craziness?

Smalling has played 90 mins in nearly every game since GW7.

Only ones hes missed - 2 through injury and the game following his return from injury

But how many of the games he’s played are because of one of bailly or jones being injured ðŸ™

I think this is a key fact. However, have Smalling, bailly and Jones all been healthy at the same time this year? And if so, who played? It could very well be the case this gw or next.
