Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang emerged from a lacklustre first-half Arsenal performance to plunder a brace of goals and reward his wave of recent investors.

Arsenal ran out 3-0 winners over Stoke City on Sunday, a flattering scoreline after a woeful showing in the first period.

Aubameyang had struggled to feature in that opening spell but sprung to life in the second-half.

Having earlier been denied by a Jack Butland save from a one-on-one, he converted a first Arsenal penalty before firing home from a cleared Mesut Ozil corner.

Along with maximum bonus points, that rewarded his new owners with a 13-point return, his biggest haul so far since arriving in the Premier League.

It could have been even better, with the striker allowing Alexandre Lacazette the responsibility to convert Arsenal’s second penalty for their third goal. Aubameyang explained post-match why he surrendered duties to his team-mate, even though that decision denied him his first Arsenal hat-trick…

“I know that Laca is back and I’d scored twice, so I wanted to let him score. It’s normal. I think it’s good for his confidence, and that’s why.”

Over 362,000 managers swooped for Aubameyang ahead of Gameweek 32, identifying the encounter with Stoke, along with the Emirates Stadium clash with Southampton to follow, as ideal opportunities to profit.

Some 195,000+ – just 27.6% of his total ownership – also handed the Gabon international their captaincy.

With the top two armband selections – Mohamed Salah (34.4%) and Romelu Lukaku (13.4%) – producing seven and eight points respectively, Aubameyang’s backers will be delighted with the outcome.

Cup-tied for Thursday’s Europa League tie with CSKA Moscow, the striker will now get another opportunity to maintain a run of four goals in three Gameweeks when he faces the ailing Southampton defence on Sunday. We may even see more of his owners trust him with the captaincy for that encounter.

While Aubameyang will be protected from rotation in Gameweek 33, Arsene Wenger’s line-up will likely remain difficult to predict.

Today’s tweaks from the Arsenal boss involved both Laurent Koscielny and Henrikh Mkhitaryan dropping to the bench in preparation for Thursday’s tie. Aaron Ramsey returned from injury to earn a start alongside the recalled Jack Wilshere as part of Wenger’s changes.

The teamsheet for Thursday’s tie, along with the minutes played and the outcome, will now all be key to anticipating changes for next Sunday’s meeting with the Saints.

Arguably, Mkhitaryan should be well placed for a start. The 99,000+ who brought him in for Gameweek 32 will hoping that this proves to be the case, though some may look to avoid that risk by shipping him ahead of next weekend’s deadline.

Mustafi delivers

In defence, a second successive clean sheet helped Shkodran Mustafi earn two bonus points to produce an eight-point return to follow on from his 12 against Watford.

Some 50,000 new owners will be content with that, though some argued that the German could have earned an assist for Aubameyang’s second goal.

It was deemed that Mustafi failed to get a touch on Ozil’s crossed corner, though regardless, the clearance from Erik Pieters appeared to significantly alter the path of the ball before Aubameyang converted from ten yards out.

It was Nacho Monreal who went into Sunday’s contest as the most popular Gunners defender. He claimed 72,000+ new managers to return his first clean sheet since Gameweek 18. The Spaniard has, however, been limited to just six starts over that run.

Mustafi will likely continue to offer the most secure route into Wenger’s backline. The injury concerns surrounding both Monreal and Koscielny are set to continue to make them candidates for rest while the European campaign continues.

Petr Cech is another currently nursing an injury problem; he missed out on Sunday due to a “sore groin” and will likely be “short” for Thursday’s tie according to Wenger.

Butland excels

Despite the 3-0 margin, Stoke City’s Jack Butland was again their standout performer.

He made eight saves, his second highest tally of the season, to register another two save points.

Incredibly, Butland has now collected save points in 14 of his last 15 Gameweek matches, producing 23 points from stops in total.

Elsewhere for Stoke, there remains little to tempt Fantasy interest.

Paul Lambert’s side are without a Double Gameweek and have testing fixtures over the next four (TOT whu BUR liv).

Indeed, the 11.0% owned Xherdan Shaqiri has already soared to rank third for sales ahead of Gameweek 33.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I've got a potentially decisive draft league head to head with TorresMagic this GW.

    Pope, Hennessey
    Koscieney, Bellerin, D.Sanchez (Smalling, Coleman)
    Salah, Mane, Pogba, Kenedy, Milo
    Morata, King (Carrillo)

    Should I play

    A) Pope (wat), he has Richarlison

    B) Hennessey (bou), he has Stanislas and Ibe

I could do with finishing this off early (currently lead by 6, with TorresMagic 1 point further back) to concentrate on FPL proper.

    Which one's better:
    A) Auba to Kane
    B) Vardy, Son to Kane, Kennedy (-4)

B Means i get to keep Auba.

Surely don't sell Auba, Vardy or Son. All returned last GW. All have easy fixtures. Hold and roll over the transfer so you have two for GW34.

Assuming your using FH in G35. I'd downgrade Willian to GroB, then upgrade Chilwell to Morgan (club captain is less likely to be rotated) and Alexander Arnold and Milo to DGW'ers

Willian will bring back better returns then Grob I think.

Alternatively I've looked at downgrading Lukaku to Vardy and thus giving me cash to upgrade Arnold and Milo.

Got a low TV, but hopefully a little bit different to template WCs:

    De Gea - Ryan
    Lowton - Tarkowski - Morgan - Chilwell - Robertson
    Salah - Son - Ibe - Gross - Mahrez
    Barnes - Kane - Aubameyang

Will go Gross and Auba to Lingard and Lukaku for a -4 in GW34. 13 DGW players

        No Vardy?
        No Alonso / Christensen?

That's different right there. Plus getting Lingard for Gross in GW34.

    DGW comparisons

    Lukaku
    + Fixtures
    + Form
+ Better fixture GW 36 which is good for managers using FH GW 35
    - Less explosive (only 3 double digit returns all season)

    Kane
+ He wants that golden boot
    + Can be extremely explosive
    - Injury might act up again
    - Might need rest due to injury
    - That previous DGW...

If you got him in on WC, presumably it was for at least his two lovely home fixtures. The fact that he was rested (after 180 international minutes - in hindsight not that weird) makes him more likely to play against Soton. Sorry, but dropping him now is a casual move. Exactly the type of person who then comes back next weekend moaning about their bad luck because Mkhi hauled and their replacement didn't.

Not sure I agree with that, I'm certainly not a casual but i'd consider selling him. If he played full 90 on Thurs, this may indicate Wenger could be planning to use Mkhi in both CSKA games and rest for Southampton. Newcastle away is shortly after second leg of CSKA clash and that's arguably tougher than Southampton at home. If he plays v Southampton that means 4 games in quick succession.

    bench: Ryan Morgan Barnes Tarkowski

    0 FT, 1.2 itb

    1) Would you play Ryan instead of DeGea?
    2) Till the end of the season, Otamendi to Davies or Vertonghen?
    3) Would you change the bench order for gw33?
    4) Any other suggestions?

Maybe not, but there really aren’t many GWs left to do it in and most people will want to use the TC chip on Kane or Kun in their yet to be confirmed DGW37.

I think if you don’t go mad on DGW34 player you have some really decent SGW players who will score well in that GW that you can maximise the BB with.

Im not convinced Kane starts v Stoke.......watch his comments after the game on Sky...........Dont get me wrong Im sure he will do everything to be fit, but Poch may restrict his minutes with Semi coming up and top 4 looking good.

Disagree. Play him against Stoke - get him back in the groove. Play him against City, reduced mins against Brighton.

Kane needs to play - he is a groove player.

If he’s fit enough to play 15/20 mins yesterday then I’m sure he’ll start the Stoke game in a weeks time. And u know what happens when we play Stoke

This will currently be my DGW 34 team, with a few hits over the next week:

    Pope
    Christensen / Chilwell / Ogbonna
    Hazard / Son / Lingard / Mahrez / Salah
    Kane / Lukaku (TC)

Go with this or consider wildcard + bench boost?

Which is better on my WC now to accommodate a GW34 XFR of Aubameyang to Lukaku?

    A). DDG, Hennessy, Bavies, Mee
    Or
    B) Pope, Ryan, Smalling, Aldeweireld

If Guardiola puts out his second team it is still decent:

    Bravo
    Danilo Stones Laporte Zinchenko
    Toure Delph Gundogan
    Bernardo Jesus Diaz

Can see a couple of the first teamers (Ederson, Mendy (is he fit now?), Sane/Sterling etc.) playing anyway

Would make top 4 every year with that team.

I still have a of my tokens left Ann's my wild card. What's the best method to play them all over the remainder of the season?
Was thinking wildcard this week, bench boost then gw34, free hit for the few games in gw35 and then triple captain either of the last 3 gws. Thoughts please lads?

      Pretty much same as me.

I wildcarded last night, will BB in 34, FH in 35 and TC in 37.

      That’s the plan anyway.

No WC and no FH left, any changes to this team:

    De Gea (Elliot)

VVD - Mariappa - Mee - Ake (Zanka)

Mahrez - Salah - Son (Milo - Gudmundsson)

    Firm - Auba - Kaku

    0 intb 🙁

    Save FT?
    Any obvious transfers?
