The ScoutCast crew are always quick to jump on the shoulders of giants, so when a veteran of the Fantasy Football Scout community starts to threaten a Fantasy Premier League title tilt, we just have to get them on the show.

Matt Kearney aka “Bowstring the Cap” has been about on our pages for seven seasons but never has he experienced one like this. Currently ranked twenty-third in the world, he drops by in this latest episode to offer his take on the campaign and, in particular, the strategy for the run-in.

In truth, Matt was better placed before Gameweek 33 and, along with Jonty, Andy and Az, he joins me to look back at the lowest scoring weekend of the campaign when even the leading managers faltered.

But those gripes are soon drowned by a wave of enthusiasm on the eve of Double Gameweek 34.

That’s the focus for your latest set of community questions, sparking our thoughts on the optimum heavy-hitters, the rotation fears and our confidence in Chelsea to produce over the extra fixtures.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Plan is probably to use my TC on Kane this week. Which of these options do you prefer?

    A) Auba and Son --> Kane and Lingard

    B) Auba, Gross, Mee --> Kane, King, Long (-4)

    Current team:

    De Gea (Ryan)
    Alonso, Morgan, Dunk, (Mee), (Stephens)
    Salah, Mahrez, Son, Willian, Gross
    Lukaku, Auba, (Barnes)

      Just TC lukaku

I think Lukaku will score, but Kane is definitely more explosive, and a more exciting TC.

And Son is more explosive than Lingard. Chase the gold, you wont find it but blindly chase

That is true but I'm not going to be using the TC on either of those! Actually if Son is rested for the Brighton game, which he could well be, Lingard could definitely match him - he has better fixtures, even if he only plays one of them.

I can't really play BB this week with Stephens and Mee out, that's the problem. I could use two FTs on swapping both out for other defenders, plus do Auba --> Vardy for -4. But I fancy having Kane for Man City and Brighton, really.

Quite early in the season when Lukaku was in everyone's team. There was about an hour of agonised deliberation before he did it. The whole stream was genuinely stunned.

Keep seeing people say that Sanchez could be rotated. I don't see that happening at all. Martial looks like he's off and Rashford is far better at striker than on wing. I'm a United fan and see him as nailed on as Lukaku is tbh.

    BB team:
    Foster
    Lowton Ake Alonso
    Lingard Shaqiri Eriksen Hazard
    Barnes Lukaku Aubamayang

    Elliot Walcott Baines TAA

Already taken a -8 bit given that Elliot & TAA won't play is doing another -8 to get Hart & Long an ok move as should at least make the points back if not more?

Have you considered using your TC this week (If you've got it?) and BBing in 37? I really don't think your team is ready for a BB and it will take a lot of surgery.

I have considered the TC on Lukaku this week but it on Kane in 37 seems so much more appealing.
Not the worst BB team...Shawiri, Baines, Walcott & Hart potentially with 9 DGW players

          • 8 Years
          8 years, 8 days ago

Have to agree .I don't like that BB id probably switch as Epic suggests . I don't think hits are the answer your already at a bit of a disadvantage with only 9 players. Depends what your expecting from long and hart. Presume you mean Burnley Long No? I don't see much risk reward value

for those TC on Kane, why not do it on GW37 instead? Easier fixtures

I was planning to play BB this week but annoyingly Stephens and Mee are both out, which means I either (a) can spend two FTs swapping them out and play BB, or (b) spend two FTs bringing in Kane and use the TC on him, in which case I'd save BB for 37 most likely.

I think Man City and Brighton are two pretty good fixtures, we know Kane is motivated etc. I agree that GW37 is probably slightly better, but I'd be worried not owning him this week.

Got to be Davies if Rose is injured. Smalling has competition for his place and Davies doesn't.

    2. _Greg

I'd probably say smalling...just. it's not much though. Rose is 75% likely with a calf strain, outside chance of the 2nd game. Mourinho likes a settled defense. Think it's more likely Rojo and Jones will play in the cup against spurs, they had a good parnership at times last season.

Hmmm. If he drops 0.1m tonight it causes me a dilemma!

If I went Kak it would be purely defensive against a rival TC'ing him. Kane I think. It is difficult to look past the fixtures though. Kinda why I'm considering Sánchez in for a hit instead of Lukaku

Lukaku is the safer option, Kane potentially (as we all know) more explosive. Depends where you are in mini-leagues etc.

I'm going Lukaku, but he will probably do sod all. You should probably go Kane; you've got more to lose.

Lukaku, I think, since you have Alli and Son.

Need to factor in the extra transfer too then...effectively another -4 pts

Cedric should also continue as a wing back.

Hidden in Mark Hughes's press conference was him giving a big clue about sticking the youngster in and playing 3 at the back.

Wasn't that hidden, I've seen a couple of bits of bumf from it and that particular bit stood out very clearly 🙂

Have you thought about posting an alternate Presser notes thread each Thurs/Fri with these titbits?

Do I take hit Monreal to DGW defender? Already -4 and may end up -12 but 33pts ahead in ML of rival who I think has played WC so hits necessary
