Our partner game Yahoo are offering yet another big-money contest for Fantasy managers this weekend.

They have a Premier League £2.5k Saturday contest which takes in all six matches from 3pm onwards tomorrow, finishing with the 7.45pm clash between Spurs and Man City at Wembley Stadium.

The contest is guaranteed to run, costs £5 to enter and is a multi-entry game, which means you can select up to five teams. The top 125 places pay out – there’s a minimum win-back of £10, with £250 going to the first place.

Driven by Opta data, the Yahoo game has a unique scoring system which is ideal for those members of our community on the lookout for a Daily Fantasy Sports game.

If you’re new to Yahoo, you can sign up and claim a free £50 in credit to your account when you deposit just £5. Promo code: Fantasy50.

Before getting started on your lineup, it’s worth digesting our Strategy Guide, which assesses the types of players who profit from the rule set.

FFS Strongest XI

Loris Karius – £16
Andrew Robertson – £15
Kyle Naughton – £13
Harry Maguire – £14
Riyad Mahrez – £20
Luka Milivojevic – £18
Roberto Pereyra -£15
Johan Berg Gudmundsson -£16
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain -£19
Mohamed Salah -£27
Harry Kane -£26

The Yahoo scoring system – which awards goalkeepers points for wins or draws and double the number of points as defenders for a clean sheet – earns Loris Karius a spot between the posts for Liverpool’s clash with Bournemouth. Jurgen Klopp’s men are the only side undefeated in front of their own fans, winning ten of their 16 Anfield encounters and conceding just ten times. Furthermore, they put four past the Cherries without reply back in Gameweek 18.

Reds’ raiding left-back Andrew Robertson joins Karius on our teamsheet against Eddie Howe’s side. Over the last six Gameweeks, the Scot is ranked second among defenders for key passes (nine) and sits top for both assists (three) and big chances created, with four. Liverpool, meanwhile, have claimed three clean sheets over that stretch.

Swansea’s Kyle Naughton offers various routes to points in the Yahoo game ahead of a visit from Everton. Ranked second among team-mates for successful tackles (13) and interceptions (nine) over the their last six league fixtures, the wing-back has also chipped in with two clean sheets and an assist across that period.

Harry Maguire’s style of play is also favourably looked upon by the Yahoo scoring system for a trip to Burnley. Over the last six Gameweeks, he has made more successful passes (246) than any team-mate and sits among the Foxes’ top three for both successful tackles (nine) and interceptions (seven). Eight efforts in the box in that run is more than any defender, with Maguire also supplying five scoring chances for Claude Puel’s men.

Riyad Mahrez joins his team-mate in our XI for the Turf Moor encounter. Although Jamie Vardy has outscored the Algerian by four goals to two over Leicester’s last six, it’s the latter who has posed the greater threat for both shots (15 to 12) and efforts on target, by eight to six. Mahrez also leads the forward for key passes (seven to three) and has been fouled 14 times over this period – just three players have surpassed that total overall.

Luka Milivojevic attempts to score for the fourth successive Gameweek as Crystal Palace welcome rivals Brighton to Selhurst Park. Now up to ten goals for the season, the Serbian’s ball-winning ability boosts his Yahoo potential, too – he’s ranked second overall for interceptions (17) in the last six Gameweeks and has also contributed 15 successful tackles for the Eagles.

Roberto Pereyra makes his debut bow in our Yahoo plans as Watford make their way to Huddersfield. The former Juventus man has upped his threat considerably in recent matches, scoring in each of the last two against Bournemouth and Burnley. Over that period, he is ranked second overall for shots (eight) and efforts in the box (six), while no player has bettered his five attempts on target.

Back in training ahead of Leicester’s visit, Johan Berg Gudmundsson is expected to be available for Burnley tomorrow. The Icelandic international has a goal and two assists in his last five appearances across Gameweek 26-30, while the underlying numbers show just why he’s an ideal player in the Yahoo game. Gudmundsson is ranked joint-top for successful crosses (11) over that run and has also registered double-digits for shots (12), interceptions (11) and chances created, with 12.

Two goals and three assists in his last four home league starts highlights the potential of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as a budget-friendly route into the Liverpool attack. The summer signing from Arsenal also netted in the Champions League win over Man City at Anfield and now entertains a Bournemouth backlines that’s managed just one clean sheet in their last 20 league fixtures.

Golden Boot contenders Harry Kane and Mohamed Salah complete our line-up. At home, they are the top two players for shots (101 to 76), efforts in the box (64 to 58) and attempts on target (43 to 37), though the latter has outscored Kane in front of his own fans by 17 goals to 11.

Salah is clearly the form player, scoring eight goals in his last four at home compared with Kane’s three, though the latter’s belated award for his side’s second goal at Stoke last weekend adds extra spice to their rivalry over the run-in.

As Yahoo allows late swaps up until each kick-off, our listed line-up may well be subject to change.

The Weekend Contests

As well as the Premier League £2.5k Saturday contest, Yahoo are also offering a Premier League £1k Sunday contest.

Comprising of both matches from that day – Newcastle vs Arsenal and Man United vs West Brom – it also takes in Monday evening’s 8pm encounter between West Ham and Stoke at the London Stadium.

This is also guaranteed to run, costs £5 to enter and is a multi-entry game, which means you can select up to two teams. The top 50 places pay out – there’s a minimum win-back of £10, with £100 going to the first place.

You can open an account and get started immediately.

If you register and deposit £5 or more, Yahoo will also give you a £50 bonus to be used as cash to enter paid contests.

Thanks to Kevin Long, I have the following choice. Currently lacking a good captain with no United attack.

    A) Mustafi and Auba to Smalling and Lukaku (Free, No Kane).
    B. Mustafi and Auba to Kane and Long (Free, No United attack).
    C. Mustafi, Auba and Gross to Kane, Long and Lingard (-4)
    D. Mustafi, Son and Auba to Pogba, Long and Kane (-4).

Surely I'm not the only one thinking that the stand out captain this week is Salah? Look at his last 6 home game scores and Bournemouth arent exactly tight at the back (ooh er madam) on the road!

This is a dgw fixture for him!

I think as a seller, he's going to make me suffer but he's not a 'standout' captain imo. Kane, Lukaku or Sanchez. They're the best options.

I respectfully disagree sir, Kaku for example will get you likely 6-8 points per game 'possibly'.

Sanchez who knows, could do well, could equally not.

Kane at home to City wont be an easy scoring opportunity imo.

Salah, as we all know, could very easily hattie this game

I'm delighted to own him, but to captain him when Kane has 2 fixtures just doesn't seem the right thing to do, from a mathmatic point of view. You're basically relying on Salah producing an unlikely 4 goal haul again. Whereas for Kane to match that requires 4 goals across 2 games - which is much more likely IMO.

This is true but if you look at the teams that Kane has scored 2 or more goals against, I don't think City will be one of them which means you're relying on his returns against BHA, which of course is possible

        1. The Rumour Mill
          • 9 Years
          7 years, 10 months ago

True, but I would say Kane v brighton isn't that far off Salah v Bournemouth in terms of fixture difficulty. Then you can view the City match as a sort of bonus match (a bonus which at least should bring in an extra 2 points from appearance alone)

      2. The Rumour Mill
        • 9 Years
        7 years, 10 months ago

To put it another way, Kane has the higher floor AND the higher ceiling this week. 2 blanks from Kane would at least bring in 4 points, from Salah it would be just 2. Back to back hat tricks from Kane, which although are unlikely, we have at least seen from Kane twice in the last year, would result in 34 points. I think 6 goals from Salah in 1 match may be beyond even the Egyptian King!

While I've lost out badly betting against the House (i.e.Salah) most weeks I feel at least taking a -8 to get Kane (TC) and Lukaku should get me a profit this time. But Mo is Mo - who knows may get 3+, may tweak his groin again...

All true, it's a good argument. But City have conceded 2 in their last 4 away games, Spurs have scored 9 in their last 4 home games, but 4 of those were against Everton.

This is going to be a good gw!

Copy and paste from an earlier post I made

Kane has 10 more goals, 8 games with more than 1 goal while Lukaku only has 1 and it was in GW1, Kane's also had 2 hat tricks to Lukaku's 0. Kane's had a lot more shots and shots inside the box than Lukaku, Spurs create more chances than United do on average, City have lost 3 games in a row conceding 8 goals along the way and Brighton haven't kept a clean sheet since December. And he's played less games/minutes than Kaku too.

Leicester and Burnley defenders before Cedric for me. Better fixtures (Chelsea probably wont use their best eleven vs Burnley). I've brought in Lowton and Chilwell

Agree, but already have Morgan and Lowton. Double up on Burnley with Ward to much?

    DDG Ryan
    Bailly Christensen Lowton Mustafi Naughton
    Son Mahrez Willian King Iborra
    Kane Lukaku Barnes

Naughton and Iborra to Morgan and _________? This will be for a -4, £7.4m ITB.

Could also do Naughton to Vertonghen and get a sub-5.8m MID instead.

For this week (using BB) but also ROS (FH next week, 0.0 ITB, 2 FT). Anything that gives me < 1.5 ITB means Lukaku GW36 then Kane GW37.

    a) Willian + Son + Christensen (current team, 0.0 ITB)
    b) Willian + Lingard + Vertonghen (2.3 ITB for Kane)
    c) Willian + Lingard + Azpi (0.4 ITB)
    d) Son + Lingard + Vertonghen (0.4 ITB)
    e) Son + Lingard + Yoshia/Cedric (1.7 ITB for Kane) --> already have 3x LEI and BUR DEF, but open to other similar options

    de gea
    maguire, alonso, lejeune, yedlin
    Mahrez, Lingard, Salah, Arnautovic
    Vardy, Lukaku

    Lowton, A.Lennon, A.Barnes

GTG ? Should I play some Burnley players, replacing who (they have difficult fixtures,etc)...? And who should I captain...?

Still have triple captain, not sure when to use it though... Thanks...! 🙂

To reconfirm since getting mixed messages:
    A) TC lukaku (or kane) this week, BB37 with 15dgw and C kane( currently, with lukaku)
    B) BB34 with 12dgw, -8 hit and a doubtful vdH, TC37 on kane
