Gameweek 36 comes to its conclusion as Spurs welcome Watford to Wembley in Monday’s 8pm kick-off.

After Mohamed Salah’s rare blank on Saturday, Harry Kane has the chance to shake up the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) standings tonight.

The second top captain pick (17.84%) for this round of fixtures, Kane was handed the armband by 54 of the top 100 managers heading into Gameweek 36.

He was also the most bought player, earning 241,000 new owners, and is again the top transfer in as the north London side prepare for Double Gameweek 37 clashes against West Brom and Newcastle.

Yet his form is hardly prolific, with just a single goal scored over his last six league outings.

By comparison, the Spurs midfield have been far more reliable.

Christian Eriksen and Son Heung-min have both scored four times over the same period, while Dele Alli has netted on three occasions and also supplied a trio of assists.

The Dane is the most captained of that trio, with 84,608 FPL managers backing him with the armband.

Son could be the big differential. Handed the captaincy by just 32,917 FPL managers, the South Korean international has averaged seven points per home match this season.

Furthermore, he served up two goals and an assist in the corresponding fixture with the Hornets last term.

Dunno about the exact tactics but before bakayoko injury and poor form he played 3-5-2 in away matches and in big games and 3-4-3 in easy home matches. Don't think the extra midfielder is necessary vs hudders at home

Team for this week (bench boost)

    De gea, fabianski
    Smalling, vertonghen, fernandez*, yoshida, morgan
    Hazard, willian, alli, pogba, kenedy
    Kane, vardy, murray

    0.0itb. 2FTs

Can anyone see a way of turning those two FTs into a team that has 15 double gameweek players (only fernandez is a doubt at the moment) and maybe bring in city players?

Is see a lot of people are saying ‘I think I’ll go without Kane’, ‘If I didn’t own him I’m not even sure I’d bring him in’, ‘I wouldn’t use the TC on him’.

We are talking about the best striker in the league who I believe will 100% be back to his goal scoring best over the next 3 games.

Last night could have been so different, the team were slightly sloppy but the chances were still there.

If the ball fell to him nicely on the line after Vertonghen hit the post or if he didn’t stray slightly offside when he scored another chance he could of had 3 goals! Sissoko fluffing a 1 on 1 could of had an assist. The view of him as purely a fantasy asset would have changed so much.

In his post match interview he said he has set his target at 30 goals initially... I firmly believe he will achieve this and more. He may not catch Salah but he will go into the World Cup as the Harry Kane we know.

150 games 105 goals. Enough said.

I’m just a Spurs fan who’s happy with the result and happy seeing Kane get the chances again.

Once CL is secured I can see the rest of the team doing what they did last season and just focus on getting him his goals.

At this stage you have to consider people’s positions, if you’re chasing it’s litrally pointless having him if you’re chasing someone who has.

I’m 100% TC him but the people chasing me will be silly to keep him I think, horses for courses at this stage.

^ This is absolutely correct. He could have had 3 yesterday but he didn't once again. This season Kane has been on a run of could haves... He hasn't looked great lately and he is very expensive. It's gamble time and some of us will gamble on somebody else. He could go off or he could do nothing....

I’m 7pts behind my ML leader... he has Vardy, Firmino, Jesus.

Needs to do some serious surgery and make up 3.5-4m to get Kane in. So at the moment he’s a differential.

He also has no triple captain left.

Kane or Jesus are the options.

Okay then we will have to agree to disagree 🙂 I think there is a very strong point to be made on keeping him and capping him for the next GW

Yeah. Going without him is hell risky I know it. 4 goals and boom I get kicked out of 10k. But on the other side 2 goals or maybe 1 and the player I'll be playing instead of him gets 5 more points than him, I'll be close to 1k .

                  Good luck to you 🙂

There's arguments on both sides. It's form vs ability. His form is crap. His ability is top shelf. I got him last week despite the bad form, out of fear really. With a decent rank now I'd rather not be exposed to a rampant Harry Kane like I was end of last season.
Proof will be in the pudding. I'm not expecting more than 2 or 3 goals in the last 3 games. Which is a good return in its own right but probably about minimum you need paying that premium over an arsenal striker.

I have Kane, Jesus and Auba do got a big decision to make with the TC.

I’ve kept it this long for Kane so will probably chuck it on him.

Got sterling? He's gotta be appealing too. Kane the safe bet for minutes

"The view of him as purely a fantasy asset would have changed so much"

People are way too results focused. It is a really bad way to make informed predictions. The scouts other than Mark are the worst offenders.

Bit of a shambles of a team here, any suggestions for a -8? 0 in the bank. Ideally want another city attack without losing Vardy. Is it time for my first ever -12??

    DDG
    Valencia Morgan Alonso
    Alli Son Sterling Willian Gross
    Kane (TC) Vardy

    Ryan Barnes Tarkowski Long

        Harsh!
As a Sane owner, you surely don't want him to play 90' only. 😉

BTW, posted my main Q on next page:

Just being realistic with the City mids, I think you need 3 City attackers to maximise minutes overall ... going to be scenes in 37 😉

Chasing. Opponent has Auba, Vardy, Jesus.

I already have Kane. Lukaku to
    A Laca
    B Morata
    C Rashford
    D Auba
    E Jesus

Tough decision with opponent covering Auba/Jesus.

Are any of these city cheapies viable picks?
    A. Danilo (walker injury)
    B. Laporte
    C. Fernandinho
    D. Gundo

Didn't see the news about Walker, thanks! This being the case I would go Danilo, as he must be first choice RB now, Laporte not guaranteed games & the other 2 not guaranteed points

I'm tempted by Laporte, but Stones is sniffing around for the Brighton game.

Who is Danilo competition if Walker is ruled out? Could Mendy play right back?

imo Mendy rotates with Delph LB & Danilo will get more game time as he hasn't had loads this season

Best 6.2 defender for the rest of the season?

    My defence:

    DDG (McCarthy)
    Vertonghen Morgan Bong (Tarkowski Lowton)

    A) Kompany
    B) Laporte
    C) Smalling
    D) Mawson
    E) Cahill

      Mmmmm.

Arnie has tough games tho but will play both.

Willian is out of sorts and not guaranteed.

Zaha has the one game and is in form.

If the dgw shambles is to go by then pick Zaha!

My ML has Kane but no TC and will captain him.

I am Chasing 46 points. Should I go with someone else like City asset?

I will have 11§DGW players he willing most likely have around 8

37 points behind. I have TC he’s used all chips. My team:

    De Gea*
    Cedric Christiansen Chilwell* Monreal
    Sterling* DSilva* Lingard Salah*
    Lukaku Kane

*stands for opponent has in team

Thoughts on: Lukaku, Salah, Christ > Jesus, Alli, Alonso (-4)
