Household Fantasy Premier League names Romelu Lukaku and Harry Kane were the stars of World Cup day five.

Both strikers scored twice for their nations and recorded double-figure hauls. With favourable fixtures coming up for them both, they are expected to earn some transfer interest today.

We’ve got all the goals, assists and talking points from the latest round-up of World Cup matches.

BELGIUM 3-0 PANAMA

Romelu Lukaku (£10.0m) continued his prolific form for Belgium as Panama were eventually swept aside 3-0.

The Manchester United striker now has 10 goals and two assists in his last seven matches for his country.

Kevin De Bruyne (£10.0m) and Eden Hazard (£10.0m) provided the assists for Lukaku’s brace after Dries Mertens (£9.0m) had opened the scoring shortly after half-time.

Belgium started the livelier of the two sides and created more chances, but lacked any conviction in the final third at first. Panama were able to ask questions on the counter-attack but lacked the quality to really punish the Red Devils.

Roberto Martinez’s half-time team-talk had impact though, as Belgium raced out of the traps in the second-half to score their opening goal.

Mertens finally broke the deadlock for Belgium shortly into the second half with a wonderful volley over goalkeeper Jaime Penedo (£4.5m), after his initial shot was headed back in his direction by Ramon Torres (£5.0m).

Lukaku put a more familiar look on the score-line in the 68th minute after his close-range header connected with an outstanding pass from De Bruyne.

And in the 75th minute he was put through by Hazard and chipped it over Penedo beautifully to round off the scoring.

BELGIUM XI (3-4-2-1): Courtois, Alderweireld, Boyata, Vertonghen; Meunier, Witsel (Chadli 90′), De Bruyne, Carrasco (Dembele 73′); Mertens (T Hazard 83′), E Hazard (c); R. Lukaku.

PANAMA XI (4-1-4-1): Penedo; Murillo, Escobar, R Torres, Davis; Gomez; Barcenas (G Torres 63′), Godoy, Cooper, Rodriguez (Diaz 63′); Perez (Tejada 73′).

TUNISIA 1-2 ENGLAND

Harry Kane (£11.0m) registered a double-figure haul as he scored a late winner for England against Tunisia.

The Tottenham forward, fresh from another fantastic FPL season, scored a brace for the Three Lions.

The first was scored after John Stones (£5.5m) header from a corner was well-saved by Hassen, Kane slotting in the re-bound from close-range.

Prior to that, Raheem Sterling (£9.0m) and Jesse Lingard (£7.0m) both had guilt-edged chances to find the net.

Tunisia did not offer much attacking threat in the game and their equaliser came agains the run of play.

Fakhereedine Ben Youssef went down in the penalty box and was awarded a penalty. Kyle Walker (£6.0m) was deducted two Fantasy points for his alleged role in the incident.

Sliti scored the spot-kick with Jordan Pickford (£5.5m) getting a glove on the ball before it went in.

England continued to mount their attack in the second-half and Kane scored his second in stoppage time, unmarked at the back post after Harry Maguire (£5.0m) had knocked the ball down from a corner.

TUNISIA XI (4-1-4-1): Hassen (Ben Mustapha 15’); Maaloul, Meriah, S Ben Youssef, Bronn; Schiri; Sliti (Ben Amor 74’), Badri, Sassi, F Ben Youssef; Khazri (Khalifa 85’).

ENGLAND XI (3-5-2): Pickford; Maguire, Stones, Walker; Young, Lingard (Dier 93’), Henderson, Alli (Loftus-Cheek 80’), Trippier; Sterling (Rashford 68’), Kane.

SWEDEN 1-0 SOUTH KOREA

Defender Andreas Granqvist (£5.0m) was the Fantasy hero for Sweden on Monday as he scored the penalty that sealed victory over South Korea.

Despite the ITV commentary team acting surprised to see the centre-back stepping up to take the spot-kick, won by Viktor Claesson (£5.5m), we at Fantasy Football Scout were fully aware of his set-piece responsibilities.

As pointed out by our recent set-pieces article, the Swedish defender scored three penalties in qualifying and continued his record from the spot by sending Jo Hyeon-woo (£4.5m) the wrong way to score in the

Sweden were the livelier side for most of the game with Marcus Berg (£8.0m) and eventual match-winner Granqvist both having excellent chances to score in the first-half.

Striker Berg had a close-range shot well-saved by Jo after Granqvist’s run into the box was well-stopped. The latter also added aerial threat at corners to his already huge Fantasy appeal.

Son Heung-min (£8.0m) was quiet in the opening period, only once causing Sweden problems on their left-side. His run into the box stretched the Swedish defence but his cut-back wasn’t accurate enough and it was easily cleared.

There was heartbreak for Park Joo-Ho (£4.0m) in the 28th minute when he picked up a hamstring injury stretching for a loose ball. Kim Min-woo (£4.0m) came on as his replacement.

SWEDEN XI: (4-4-2): Olsen, Lustig, Granqvist, Augustinsson, Jansson, Larsson (Svensson 79’), Ekdal (Hiljemark 71’), Forsberg, Claesson, Berg, Toivonen (Thelin 77’).

SOUTH KOREA XI (4-2-3-1): Cho; Park, Kim Young-gwon, Jang, Lee Yong; Koo (Lee Sung-woo 72’), Ki, Lee Jae-sung; Son, Kim Shin-wook (Jung 66’), Hwang.

nope, thats incorrect, maximum captain means the game will automatically put your armband on the player that scores the most.

Honestly I would tweak both options. Alba is a better choice than Ramos for the same price. Nacho isn’t 100% nailed on since Carvajal could take his spot.

      1. Fabregasm
        • 11 Years
        7 years, 10 months ago

But I do think that Ramos is on pens, which to me makes him a great option (6,5 still is a lot for a defender). But I get where you're coming from, especially with Nacho.

    Decided I won't do WC.

    My current team:

    Uzoho, El Kajoui
    Granqvist, Pavard, Tagliafico, Meunier, Mojica
    Golovin, Meza, Pogba, Muller, J-Rod
    Mitrovic, Cavani, Lukaku

    0 in bank.

    Some options:

    a) Mitrovic -> Vela to exploit Mexico's weak schedule, Korea was awful. Swiss and Brazil looks solid. Mitrovic missed a lot.
    b) Meza -> Layun with same reasoning. Meza is expected to play, but will probably be subbed quickly
    c) Meza -> Bentancur (with 0,5 in bank). Not a point player, but cheap nailed-on in a good team against an awful team.
    d) Muller -> Isco. Might regret this but, Germany might struggle to produce against Sweden and Isco looked great in free-flowing Spain.

    What do you guys think?

Next round or QF with a bit more information. Like all my heavy hitters in next round. Cavani against weakest D, Lukaku in form. Muller against Sweden. Pogba against Peru that lacks Tapia and might have lost motivation.

Is that a bad idea? Is WC consensus?

i dont know, but my team has a lot of similarities with yours and im gonna wildcard cos i wanna jump on players in form, like Costa, and fix a few issues I have. plus with a wildcard after group stages i feel like thats plenty to get me sorted. just my opinion tho

    Hey team,

How did Mueller play against Mexico? I’m considering trading him to Isco for some Spanish coverage as I currently have none. I’m hesitant to trade Jesus to Costa which would leave me with no Brazilian attacker. Team is as follows:

    Jesus, Lukaku, Cavani
    JRod, Mueller, Cueva, Al-Dawsari, Belhanda
    Danilo, Pavard, Kimmich, Muenier, Varela
    Muslera, Uzoho

    Stupid and obvious question alert:

When player prices increase after the group stage I'm assuming if you already have those players rising then they don't cost you anymore i.e. you get them at their original price?

If so depending on how many rise this could make WC'd ahead of Round 3 tempting to ensure you carry as many of those players rising

I would assume the same. Would be weird to punish you for getting the player from the start.

Is Mendy worth a hit to get out? Ie is he likely to not play again?

    Which one??

    1. Jesus to Costa
    2. Ziyach to Russian mid

    El Kajoui/Uzoho
    Meunier/Danilo/Trippier/Varela/Pavard
    Eriksen/James/Ziyach*/Cueva/Meza
    Cavani/Jesus*/Lukaku

Also, would you go for max C with Cavani and Lukaku RD2?

Neither, i’d probably do Ziyach to Layun but Ziyach could easily get awarded a penalty so would be reluctant to sell him.

    JRod > Isco
    Aldawsari > Layun

-4 points just for the next round. Do people think this is worth it? Any help would be appreciated

A -4 isn’t worth it because it’s really hard to make up that deficit. You would need the player you’re getting in to score or get a couple assists to make up the points and having no bonus points means it’s very hard to come out ahead.

    Hi everyone,

I know this question was probably asked already, but can I use both WC and Max Cap chip for round 3?
EPL fantasy doesn't allow it, but here I don't see such restriction.

Anybody know any more about the James injury?

If James is fine today, is Lewandowski to Costa a decent transfer?

See how Lewandowski performs today first imo.

General consensus on best time to WC? see a lot of people doing it now but with only 3 transfers between Ro16 and QF is that not the best time?

Trying to figure this out I must admit - I think a lot are WC'd now as a knee-jerk to a bad or average week when in fact the top scorers could all be different in Round 2

Yeah my thoughts too, wary getting rid of Muller, Jesus cos they could do really well

Anyone know if ALFRED NDIAYE actually has a chance of playing for Senegal? Don't see him in the expected lineups for FFS article and on the Live Score App they list a Badou Ndiaye, which I assume is someone else. Might just bank the 2 points.

[Apologies in advance to all Senegalese for my ignorance]
