Josh King, Charlie Daniels, Junior Stanislas, Nathan Ake: Bournemouth players have mostly been good to Fantasy managers since the club’s promotion to the Premier League in 2015, offering decent returns for minimal investment.

Last season’s offerings were something of a disappointment from a Fantasy perspective, however, with no Bournemouth player reaching double figures for goals, assists or clean sheets.

King scored half as many goals (eight) as he managed in 2016/17, while Jordan Ibe’s total of six assists was the best any Cherries player could muster.

The Bournemouth defence was particularly porous, meanwhile, keeping only six clean sheets (a league-low shared with relegated Stoke City) in their 38 league matches.

Part of Bournemouth’s appeal from a Fantasy standpoint is that by now we mostly know what to expect from the south coast side. Eddie Howe is the longest-serving manager in the Premier League, following Arsene Wenger’s departure from Arsenal, having been on the books at the Vitality Stadium for well over five years. Many of Bournemouth’s players have also been with the club for an extended period: King, Daniels, Stanislas, Ryan Fraser, Adam Smith, Simon Francis, Steve Cook and Callum Wilson, among others, have featured in all three seasons that the Cherries have spent in the top flight.

While Howe’s formation is far from settled, having flip-flopped between a conventional back four and a three-man defence last season, the Cherries’ mantra remains comfortingly consistent: attack and attack some more.

Easy answer is Ramos to Carvajal and then you've got another 0.5 too!

Otherwise switch your second keeper to a burner at 4 and save another mil (they're likely to go out and then you've got to spend a transfer to unlock that 1 mil back)

    Griezman Lukaku Kane
    Isco Coutinho Lingard Quintero Bentacur
    Trippier Ramos Rrod Pavard Lovren
    Courtois Oslen

    Ideas/improvements?
    - can downgrade griez >> mbappe and use 1m elsewhere (lingard > rakitic?)
    - i wanna go big on defence..ramos,trip,rrod have great upside...not keen on granquist..any other def with big upside?

Right, sticking with this. Don’t like it, but I can’t make anything I’m happy with:

    Muslera, Olsen
    Carvajal, Miranda, TobyA, Lovren, Granqvist
    Isco, Modric, Coutinho, Quintero, Inui
    Kane, Lukaku, Costa

Don’t think Modric is worth the cost, and I’ll lose at least 2 players guaranteed, with no WC...

I feel like i am playing with 100mil still when checking all the other teams fittting hazard, neymar, costa + 3 good mids when im struggling to fit 4th good mid with rebic in atk XD
    RMT please
    allison (6) - olsen (5)
    marcelo (6.5) - meunier (6) - carvajal (5.5) - granquist (5.1) - hernadez (5)
    kdb (10) - coutinho (9.1) - isco (8.5) - quinterro (5.6) - claesson (5.5)
    kane (11.1) - lukaku (10.1) - rebic (5.5)
    0.4 itb

want to fit in griez instead of rebic but missing funds, possible cuts:
    allison - subasic
    marcelo - fagner
    hernandez - pavard
    claesson - sanchez
after all this still missing 1.1mil for griez or 0.1mil for mertens, and do not want to cut kdb, is it worth making so many downgrades?

In a word no. Too much surgery better to downgrade kdb to Carrasco and Olsen to a 4.0 mil so you can upgrade rebic to Griezmann

This team is only good if you have a wildcard. Otherwise you will either have double Belgium attack v double Brazil defence in QF, or be making a pile of transfers.

      1. CROCosta
        • 8 Years
        8 years, 28 days ago

no wc, i could cut 1 brazil def for 1 croatian, but feel like missing on belgium atk vs japan is a big mistake, though might do kdb to carrasco as well and possibly use extra funds to get lingard in place of claesson.
disregarding $ who do you thinks is more likely to outscore in the next 2 rounds lingard or claesson?

Best def (looking at both cs and attacking returns)
    A: Ramos

    C: Rrod
    D: Meunier

    G: Someone else?

Looks like it could be in very tough shape for the QF. Double Belgium defence vs Brazil, Lovren Vs Spain, possibly losing Quintero, Sanchez, Granqist. Triple Belgium vs Triple Brazil in the QF could be an issue in terms of a balanced team imo.

      1. The Tinkerman
        • 10 Years

There won’t be any easy games in the QFs. If England make it through they have the easiest game on paper, all other games are tough. France v Uruguay, Brazil v Belgium, Spain v Croatia, and Sweden v England would be my guesses

        1. SW6
          • 13 Years

Agree, but Brazil Belgium are the two best teams, all the others have flaws. Not saying it won't work, they could play out a high scoring game. But in terms your own players scoring vs your own defenders (double Brazil attack, double Belgium defence) and picking captains, it's not ideal.

          1. The Tinkerman
            • 10 Years
            8 years, 28 days ago

Yeah, I’m also likely to have Spain v Croatia, but not that bothered, someone has to win and I need to maintain 11 going forward with no WC.

I understand, but just picture it's the QF and you have Neymar and Coutinho and also Courtois and Toby. What are you hoping for? 2 of your big assets at least are almost guaranteed blanking.

                8 years, 28 days ago

Fwiw I don't think it's a huge issue but I would have a plan to transfer one of them out depending on if you favour Brazil or Belgium. There are few risks in the rest of your team so it should be doable.

is it too big of risk to cut coutinho?
i really do not feel like he will get much points here on forward but feeling like fighting against 51% ownership when leading my league by 19 points might be a too bold of move, thoughts?

No one is a sure thing but he's the first midfielder on my team sheet

Nope it's silly. He's been really good. Stats support his performances, and he has a great fixture and is very likely to move onto the QFs.

      Just pick him.

Not a good idea... Most attacks are going through him

I have not got him precisely because right his high ownership. Top 10k ownership will probably be 90%+ too. Gotta make up ground somehow
