Josh King, Charlie Daniels, Junior Stanislas, Nathan Ake: Bournemouth players have mostly been good to Fantasy managers since the club’s promotion to the Premier League in 2015, offering decent returns for minimal investment.

Last season’s offerings were something of a disappointment from a Fantasy perspective, however, with no Bournemouth player reaching double figures for goals, assists or clean sheets.

King scored half as many goals (eight) as he managed in 2016/17, while Jordan Ibe’s total of six assists was the best any Cherries player could muster.

The Bournemouth defence was particularly porous, meanwhile, keeping only six clean sheets (a league-low shared with relegated Stoke City) in their 38 league matches.

Part of Bournemouth’s appeal from a Fantasy standpoint is that by now we mostly know what to expect from the south coast side. Eddie Howe is the longest-serving manager in the Premier League, following Arsene Wenger’s departure from Arsenal, having been on the books at the Vitality Stadium for well over five years. Many of Bournemouth’s players have also been with the club for an extended period: King, Daniels, Stanislas, Ryan Fraser, Adam Smith, Simon Francis, Steve Cook and Callum Wilson, among others, have featured in all three seasons that the Cherries have spent in the top flight.

While Howe’s formation is far from settled, having flip-flopped between a conventional back four and a three-man defence last season, the Cherries’ mantra remains comfortingly consistent: attack and attack some more.

Okay. I don't like Pavon or Lingard. Banega should be better option for Pavon and If you can save another 0.4 from somewhere Rakitic for Lingard.

Fagner is a doubt since Danilo is back in training. I would bring in Miranda instead if you want a Brazil defender and use the remaining 1mill to upgrade Dalsgaard to Carvajal

    Hi! Currently on this:

    Courtois Sommer
    Trippier Guerreiro Granqvist Lovren Fagner
    Coutinho Isco Rakitic Banega Quintero
    Hazard Griezmann Costa

I'm using BB. Fagner is the biggest punt but I have come to conclusion that he will start. Thoughts?

"The other great novelty that can be brought to the Spain XI in the round of 16 against the hosts could be the entry of Marco Asensio.

David Silva's performances have not been as expected and, although Hierro knows what he can provide, the team suffers from a lack of depth at times, accompanied by excessive touches and too much ponderous possession play.

The things that the Real Madrid man can bring aren't in doubt and he could be the alternative to break in too and bring an end to Spain's predictability."

there was an article which gave the 5 pen takers away if it went to penalties. Ramos was not on the list so assume he isn't going to step up and take pens during a game.

Thoughts and suggestions very much appreciated as always 🙂

    Alisson 4.0
    TSilva Lovren Carvajal Granqvist Pavard
    Coutinho Modric(c2) Isco Claesson Quintero
    Griezmann(c1) Hazard(c3) Kane(c4)

    Some things I'm considering:
    • Alisson > Muslera / Pickford
    • Pavard (if rotated) > Hernandez
    • Carvajal > Pique (goal threat)
    • Modric > Rakatic (interesting stats)
    • Quintero/Claesson > 4.4 fodder

    Allison

    Carvajal/Meunier/Miranda

    Isco/Coutinho/Quintero/Modric

    Costa/Lukaku/Kane

    Pretty template i guess

Alright, I'm gonna make an individual thread because I really don't understand this. Why is the FFS consensus moving towards Hazard over Lukaku? We didn't do it in the group stage, and Lukaku did indeed outscore Hazard.

Here are their records for Belgium. First is apps, second is goals.

    Lukaku - 70/40
    Hazard - 88/24

There's a reason strikers are categorized as strikers. They score more goals. Add on the fact that Lukaku is well rested, a big physical presence vs a smaller Japan team and I can't really see why Hazard is being picked more. Lukaku is also known as a flat-track bully and Japan are arguably the weakest side left in the tournament.

I can understand getting both but picking Hazard over Lukaku just doesn't make sense to me. Penalties and assists are great and all, but Lukaku can also win pens and get assists while being more involved in the box.

    1. willl
      • 10 Years
      7 years, 8 months ago

Lukaku went off injured last match.

Assists get points too if you weren't aware, and Hazard gets way more of those than Lukaku.

      Hazard on pens.

Hazard has over double Lukakus touches in the box.

Yes. But it's not like Lukaku can't get assists either. And then what about his physical advantage in the box? That has to count for something against Japan.

        1. willl
          • 10 Years
          7 years, 8 months ago

          Lukaku 71/40/8
          Hazard 88/24/24

His physical advantage is hard to quantify, if you think that's enough to separate them fair enough.

That's not a bad case. But goals are worth more than assists. I'm still going Lukaku but I suppose it's closer than I thought.

It is very hard to separate them, glad I've managed to get my point across.

I have Haz and Griezmann currently, but may go Lukaku over Griezmann, not decided yet.

        2. Fassy

I guess Yoshida will be the defender, same height and he is quite strong. I also went for Hazard even after I had Lukaku for 2 games in the group stage. Hazard on pens and he was impressive in the group stage. And maybe Lukaku still not fully 100%...

I’ve gone hazard just to be different in my ML, plus going with gut and kaku was injured last game. You may be right of course, but I fancy haz to win a couple of pens and score both.. I agree the better odds to score rest with kaku tho..

Just use it. It’s honestly a useless chip.

Most likely your bench players will be 0s and 1s.

Yep - given that you can make subs anyway, and your bench will always be made of your weakest players, bench boost will get you very few points. I'd use it now as there are more cheap good options now than there will be for the rest of the tourney

Yep. You get a -1 Player like Gabr and you can’t sub them out. It’s almost a bad chip

This round is better for BB than the QF round. Can we play WC and BB in the same round? If so then I'd be tempted to use both before the SFs.

Yes you can play both WC and BB same round , but there might not be many cheaper options available in the semi-finals to pick 15 players.

Best use of bb is to get 2cs out of your goalkeepers, players wont get you much, so obviously best use now with allison/ddg/subasic/muslera/olsen/sommer/cortois/lloris. pick any 2 and you are good

      Meunier / Miranda / Lovren / Granqvist / RRod

      Neymar / Hazard / Griezmann

BB now and WC before QF

Load up on Belgians and Brazil then next week they play each other.

I’d get 2 if each at MOST.

Best fixtures potentially next week if favourites all win. England. That’s it.

Yeah, might be the way to go - have isco and modric on day 2 to potentially cap.

Playing on a local game and have 4 FTs. Pick one:

      A. Ronaldo + Lewandowski + Eriksen + Hector —> Lukaku + Kane + Quintero + Vida
      B. Lewandowski + Eriksen + Marcelo + Hector —> Kane + Modric + Vida + Granqvist

      Current team:
      Ronaldo - Cavani - Lewandowski
      Coutinho - Isco - Eriksen
      Marcelo - Meunier - Ramos - Hector
      Pickford

      Thanks guys!

        The cheapest you can.

        Olsen or jap keeper
        Maguire or Granquist
        C Sanchez or inui

      3. DantheManinaPan
        • 12 Years

        A) Swiss/Swedish
        B) Pavard (if starting, check lineup) - otherwise Akanji
        C) I'm strongly against the 4.5s (Sanchez and Inui) - they offer extremely little potential, and no flexibility later on - I'd look at your cheapest mid being Quintero/Claesson
