Fantasy Premier League appears to have opened for 2018/19 and you can now pick your first team for the season. Over 4,000 managers have already signed up hoping to grab a low ID.

The player list published earlier today, that was later removed, appears to have been accurate, so we now know exactly how much each asset costs.

FPL revealed several player prices and positions yesterday with Sergio Aguero (£11.0m), Roberto Firmino (£9.5m), Romelu Lukaku (£11.0m), Eden Hazard (£10.5m), Granit Xhaka (£5.5m), Ruben Neves (£5.0m) and Sean Morrison (£5.0m) all announced.

Meanwhile, Fulham attacking wing-back Ryan Sessegnon was announced as a £6.5m midfielder.

This afternoon it was also revealed that Mohamed Salah would remain a midfielder but he will now cost Fantasy managers a hefty £13.0m to have in their squads. Now that the player list is public, we can confirm that the Egyptian is the most expensive player in the game.

Harry Kane, who scored 30 goals last term and currently leads the way in the World Cup Golden Boot race, is not far behind Liverpool’s superstar, his starting price of £12.5m exactly the same as it was in 2017/18.

After a break-out season for Manchester City, Raheem Sterling has seen his price increase from £8.0m to £11.0m. That makes him the most expensive City midfielder with Kevin De Bruyne coming in at £10.0m and Leroy Sane at £9.5m. In fact, only Salah has a higher price in midfield with Hazard and Alexis Sanchez (both £10.5m) just below him. Sterling also matches Aguero’s price-tag and is £0.5m more than Gabriel Jesus (£10.5m).

In defence the dearest options are Marcos Alonso, Cesar Azpilicueta, Kyle Walker, Nicolas Otamendi and Antonio Valencia who have all been handed a £6.5m price-tag. Of interest will be the fact that both Chelsea and Man City can offer starting centre-backs still priced at £5.5m.

David De Gea starts as the most expensive goalkeeper matching his World Cup Fantasy price of £6.0m. Just below him are Ederson, Thibaut Courtois and Hugo Lloris at £5.5m while there will be delight at the fact that Lukasz Fabianski is £4.5m.

The most notable positional switches see Marko Arnautovic and Wilfried Zaha moved from midfielders to forwards, with both players priced up at £7.0m. Moving backwards is Ashley Young who has been classified as a £6.0m defender, Fabian Delph making the same move for £5.5m. Meanwhile, James Milner has returned to the midfield and has been handed a starting price fo £5.5m.

READ NEXT: Our complete guide to pre-season is now live on FFS

There are several players whose impressive performances in 2017/18 have earned them price rises, although none of them as big as Salah’s. Crystal Palace’s designated penalty taker Luka Milivojevic is now £6.5m while goal-scoring defender Patrick van Aanholt is £5.5m. Ruben Loftus-Cheek, now back at Chelsea is the same price as his Dutch former colleague.

Andy Robertson has shot up to £6.0m after doing well since January, matching defensive colleague Virgil van Dijk for price. Also at Liverpool, new signings Naby Keita and Fabinho have come in at £7.5m and £6.0m respectively.

Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez are both now £9.0m, although they are not expected to share a partnership again with the Algerian set for a move to Manchester City. At Brighton, Pascal Gross is now £7.0m.

Burnley’s 12 clean sheets in 2017/18 has earned all of their defenders a £0.5m price rise. Matt Lowton, Ben Mee, James Tarkowski and Stephen Ward all come in at £5.0m while the rest are now £4.5m.

The same treatment has been given to the Spurs defence, who combined for 25 goal involvements in 2017/18. Toby Alderweireld, Serge Aurier, Ben Davies, Danny Rose, Davinson Sanchez, Jan Vertonghen and Kieran Trippier are all £6.0m with Kyle Walker-Peters at £4.5m. In midfield, Christian Eriksen stays at £9.5m but Dele Alli drops back down to £9.0m.

2017/18’s underperformers have understandably experienced price drops although there are some potential bargains as a result. Henrikh Mkhitaryan can be picked up for £7.0m while Theo Walcott is available at £6.5m. Elsewhere, Alvaro Morata costs £9.0m, Christian Benteke is £6.5m and Jason Puncheon is now a budget midfielder at £4.5m.

Also of interest, Leighton Baines (£5.5m), Seamus Coleman (£5.5m) and Michael Keane (£5.0m) are the only Everton defenders above £4.5m. One of Phil Jagielka, Ashley Williams or Cuco Martina is likely to start at centre-back alongside Keane at a budget price.

Quite happy with this team and with 0.5 left in the bank. Decent fixtures in the first month or two for this lot as well. Thoughts?

    De Gea, Hennessey

van Aanholt, Davies, Coleman, Douglas, Daniels

    Sessegnon, Eriksen, Jota, Salah, Ramsey

    Bottomed
    Ederson or leno?
Ederson has easier matches and stronger defence line in front of him but leno will likely have more save points and 0.5 cheaper

Ederson if I had to pick one. But I'd pass on both.

Still skeptical on Leno, tbh. Karius was also very promising from the Bundesliga, but didnt quite replicate it early in his Liverpool career. I'll rate him when the season starts. Ederson vs Arsenal GW1 cant possibly be a CS. I'd stay away from both for now, maybe I'll consider for early WC.

Ederson has only one tough match that is first game, although city will dominate and he has high clean sheet chance
City can keep cs againts any PL team. You buy and start him each week
The only issue is I am an arsenal fan and can't make a right decision on leno

Ahh, the bias haha. Well, put club loyalties aside for Fantasy, I'd say, and go for an objective view. Ederson>Leno until I see them play, as far as Im concerned.

First draft but obviously will likely change a lot:

    Fabianski, Begovic
Mendy, Trent AA, Daniels, Cedric, Wan-Bissaka
Salah, De Bruyne, Jota, Deulofeu, Masuaka
    Lukaku, Firmino, Arnautovic

Any thoughts? Feel like Arnautovic is questionable with the new manager, he may end up back as an attackive midfielder

Nahh but Lukaku been in good form in WC and they have Leicester at home and Brighton away as their first two games which is a solid start imo. He'd be transferred to Aubameyang after the first two GW's once Arsenal's Chelsea and City fixtures are out the way.

    How’s this for starters?

    Palace/Soton
    Bailly - Mendy - Robbo - Coleman
    Salah - Mane - Silva - Wally
    Aguero - Zaha

    (4.0 - 4.5 - 4.5 - 4.0)

    On this atm
    Fab - Mccarthy

    Mane - Eriksen - Sig - Cairney - 4.5
    Kane - Auba - Zaha

    Early team

    McCarthy-Dubravka

    TAA-Bamba-Daniels-Cedric-Zanka

    Ramsey-Sane-Mane-Albrighton-Izquierdo

    Kane-Aubameyang-Austin

No value in 4,5m midfield, which is a disgrace.

He is a defensive midfielder who never goes into the penalty area. If there were points for the assist for the assist he'd be running away with it. Jota will probably get you more points then Neves but you never know.

So unsure on City's mids. They're likely signing Mahrez and Jorginho and I'd expect to see Bernardo Silva more this season so surely Sane isn't a safe bet nor David Silva? Only one who looks safe to me is De Bruyne.

Similar issue with Aguero and Jesus as well. If Aguero was guaranteed starter he'd be first on team sheet but surely a risk with Jesus likely to get game time?

I was thinking maybe doing Lukaku and Hazard for start of season and the transferring Hazard out for De Bruyne GW1 and then Lukaku out for Aubameyang GW2 and avoiding Aguero/Jesus issue. Similar concern with Hazard though in terms of WC risk, lets hope Brazil knock them out haha!
