The ScoutCast Episode 265 – Difference

This week the ScoutCast crew are determined to bust the myth that they share identical strategies.

Long-term maverick Luke returns to reveal his freshly Wildcarded team which bravely went into Gameweek 2 without Manchester City’s hat-trick hero Sergio Aguero and last season’s points-scoring sensation Mohamed Salah.

In stark contrast, Az is continuing his march up the rankings thanks to his faith in this premium pair, and his resolve in resisting broadsheet tittle-tattle hinting that the Argentinian would be dropped.

David is also beating a different drum and keen to explain the reasons behind his chequered FPL history and how his fortunes already look better this time around.

That leaves me as the only dullard representative, armed with a bunch of ownership statistics, a goals imminent table and a dubious ‘camping’ excuse to explain my recent poor captaincy decision.

Our differing views across a range of key issues facing Fantasy Premier League manages ahead of Gameweek 3 are aired.

Our assessment of Chelsea and Arsenal assets ahead of their favourable fixtures is top of our list. And we also ponder whether Spurs’ players can compete as assets this season and indulge in some bargain hunting up front.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

The only rotation Pedro is getting is from the wing to false nine 🙂

If Morata scores again at the weekend he'll be a sure starter imo!

Prob until Hazard gets into top shape which will be soon enough!

I don't. The fact Willian came off for Hazard convinced me to get Pedro in.

He's in direct competition for the RW spot with Willian. You'd assume he has that spot secured for now on the back of his recent performances, but there's no way he will be nailed with Willian waiting (long term)

You are prob right... but there are some good players in that price range. Might stick another gw and then maybe switch to maddison

I wouldn't take him out yet if that's what you are asking. He's still a decent pick, just keep an eye on the situation

I'm in agreement with Rotation's Alter Ego, with that name he knows what he's talking about 😀 If you consider the Sarri 4-3-3 formation which he favours, with Kante, Jorginho, Barkley deep Mids, Morata/Giroud, Pedro/Willian, Hazard among the attacking Mids. No one is benching a fully fit Hazard, Pedro can't hold that false 9 position, it's a straight swap between Willian and Pedro all season long, with rests for Hazard periodically with both starting on those occasions. My view atm.

If Morata carries on playing like a donkey could he not push Hazard forward (as Ronaldo did for Real) with Pedro and Willian either side?
Don't think its as simple as Pedro/Willian direct competition.

The system works best with a number 9. Morata is a good striker. Pedro form will keep him in the team perhaps but that LW spot is Hazard's. If Willian also gets up to speed I am unsure he gets the RW spot in the long term. Maybe even this weekend. Again, IMO.

You're prob right mate. Most likely more wishful thinking on my part as i've just transferred him in!

I think he is secured starter atm. If he drops in form, he will be rotated with Willian. Haz will get the LW spot.

I'm racking my brains out over this. On a wildcard, I can have

        either Pedro/Pereira
        or Alonso/Neves

I decided over the season the second option will play more games and haul more points, but I'm loathed to lose Pedro.
        Nb. I have Hazard.

Thinking ahead from GW4. What would be the best move(s)?

    A - Firmino > Zaha & Cedric > Alonso
    B - Firmino > Zaha & Bilva > Mane

    Thanks for any advice.

What’s Peltier’s situation? Is he likely to start or has he been dropped?

I want a 4.0 defender but I don't really need him to play, would obviously prefer somebody that does but my backline is strong enough as it is. It would also be good if that player was relatively safe from price drops. Would it be best to get someone with a high ownership so that more transfers are needed for the player to drop in price? I guess it's still between Peltier and Bennett.

    Best 4.5m keeper

    1. Hart
    2. Hennessey
    3. McCarthy
    4. Ethridge
    5. Begovic
    6. Fabri
    7. Foster
    8. Patricio

    Too many decent options 😛

Hennessey for now because of his fixtures and Crystal Palace look defensively solid.

It would be Hennessey for me. I was worried he'd be dropped for Guaita but he's playing a blinder.

I'm on a WC too and it looks very similar to what I have. The only difference is that I have Robertson over TAA and 4.0/4.5 instead of Cook/Neves.

Yes I had Robertson, but I prefer having a stronger bench, i’ll Probably put Neves in next week after the city game, he’s looked awesome. It could go either way in the long run

Imo the most essential players are Hazard Salah Aguero Mendy and Trippier. They will score the most points season.

Hazard and Trippier arent essential. Need to see Hazard perform week in week out to consider getting him in. Trippier on the other side has a competition with Aurrier.

Last week Peltirer didn't make the Cardiff squad.

I read somewhere (here most likely) that this was purely tactical and unrelated to him personally.

Is he likely to make the starting 11 this week? Anyone a Cardiff fan??
