This week the ScoutCast crew are determined to bust the myth that they share identical strategies.

Long-term maverick Luke returns to reveal his freshly Wildcarded team which bravely went into Gameweek 2 without Manchester City’s hat-trick hero Sergio Aguero and last season’s points-scoring sensation Mohamed Salah.

In stark contrast, Az is continuing his march up the rankings thanks to his faith in this premium pair, and his resolve in resisting broadsheet tittle-tattle hinting that the Argentinian would be dropped.

David is also beating a different drum and keen to explain the reasons behind his chequered FPL history and how his fortunes already look better this time around.

That leaves me as the only dullard representative, armed with a bunch of ownership statistics, a goals imminent table and a dubious ‘camping’ excuse to explain my recent poor captaincy decision.

Our differing views across a range of key issues facing Fantasy Premier League manages ahead of Gameweek 3 are aired.

Our assessment of Chelsea and Arsenal assets ahead of their favourable fixtures is top of our list. And we also ponder whether Spurs’ players can compete as assets this season and indulge in some bargain hunting up front.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

I'm not sure I would. I don't think Richarlison's underlying stats suggest he is going to continue to score as he is in the first two weeks.

  4. Duffy Dunk

Owning Cairney but tempted by Kante, do you think Sarri will keep playing him in an advanced position?
Since I have a midfield of Salah Mane Bilva Richarlison, there's no room for Pedro, so if Kante keeps being close to attacking moves, he could cover a part of Chelsea's attacking points.

I’m not too sure, best to wait to see how he does with Hazard back in the starting line up imo.

Another thing that presses is that Cairney is very close to a price fall, which would make this transfer impossible.

wasting FT. Cairney or Kante or any 5th mid you dont play him much (even they can get points sometime)

        play for point not price

          This.

Whilst I agree that Kante may be a decent fpl prospect for value if he keeps attacking as he is, is there any point in having him if you won't play him? I would play Salah Mane Bilva and Richarlison every GW, so unless you have a cheap forward to rotate, I think it's a wasted transfer at present.

Kante will play as a box to box so long as Jorginho is fit. Not sure why people are saying wait till Hazard starts, that won't have anything to do with his role.

    7. Holmes
      • 12 Years

Probably getting him this week, will play him when at home for couple of games, if he continues to get in attacking position and gets some return, thats good otherwise just keep him as bench fodder.

Yeah, risky for sure. Sometimes it’s worth it though. Actually I can probably wait until after the Sunday games which will help assess - just need to avoid a King drop and Hazard, Pedro, Zaha & Auba rises, which all look a way off happening.

    Kane and Fraser out
    Auba and mkhi in (-4)

I mentioned it a few pages back to a bit of a mixed response. I thought over the next 3-4 weeks at least that is was a good move due to fixtures. And it also meant that I caught mkhis price rise

    Morning!!
Have you guys ever let a FT go by?
I am in a situation where I have 2 FTs and 1m ITB, but feel like I cant make any meaningful change to my team.

    Mccarthy - Foster
    Mendy - TAA - Cedric - Tomkins - AWB
    Salah - Mkhi - Bilva - Richarlison - Stephens
    Aguero - Firmino - Zaha

I thought of the following transfers, but they are not making make much sense
    1) Firmino + Bilva TO Auba + Pedro (FREE)
    2) Firmino + Zaha TO Auba + Ings (FREE)
    3) Salah + Firmino TO Auba + Mane/Hazard (FREE)

Thinking of not making any transfers and let my FT go by 🙁
    Thoughts please

I wouldn't sell Salah this week, the other 2 are passable.
You'll want to sort attack so it's hard to change a defender unless same price or less.

The obvious comparison would be with Mendy or Robertson. If they don't get attacking returns, they will still most probably get you CS points.
The same can't be said about Alonso at the moment, I think

With Dunk confirmed out for "weeks" & dropping in value, is he needing to be transferred out? Or is it better to just let him rot on the bench?

Dump him on FT if you have no other pressing issues..every penny counts mate

Yep. For me it would mean dropping Alonso to a 5.6. Rather the money on the field.

I have Ings + 4.5 mid at present but the Fraser + 4.5 fwd option is giving me FOMO. Not enough to take a hit though.
At least Ings rotates well with CP so possible to switch between the 343 and a 442 with Schlupp or WB.

Right way of thinking. I am on WC so I have spent all week building up TV before my final decision.

A great start has meant I can postpone the usual early WC. Have already taken one hit to renovate my team this week and very happy overall but Ings v Fraser feels like the only lingering question at the moment.
Doubtless it will all come crashing down within a month.

    Help me lol

Really really fancy Mitrovic to be very successful vs burnley this weekend but can only get him in for a -4 taking King out.

Dont fancy King at all really his not even playing as an out and out striker when Mitro is a 100% a number 9.

Is it worth it or hold?

    1. Holmes
      • 12 Years
      8 years, 4 days ago

Personally I would hold but if you really want Mitrovic, go for it.

Better to pick the player you really want and fail rather than regret later on...

Think I’m gonna risk it, like you said I don’t wanna regret it if he does the business.

Also I don’t like taking hits but it’s early and plenty of time to make it back.

        Thanks for your thoughts.

Looking for a 4.5 striker as bench fodder. Who will be the LEAST vulnerable to price drop? Looking at Success because of his low ownership, but please advice.

      How many double risers?
Benefits of the TV is you can afford drops but real value will probably be only .4

Only 3 double risers. Mendy, Mane, Rich

So you are protected for drops which is more key than risers this time of year. A benefit but not crucial.

          Casuals sold.
          Reasons for Kneejerk drop.
1 Kun Success at same price
          2 Mane plugging away.

          Reasons to keep.
          1) Why get in the first place? Must have been fixtures after week 3.

          Reasons to buy.
          1) Great fixtures
          2) FFS said so! (smile)
