Eden Hazard (£10.5m) and Mateo Kovacic (£6.0m) make their first starts of the season as Chelsea attempt to win on Tyneside for the first time in the league since 2011/12.

Willian (£7.5m) and Ross Barkley (£6.0m), as would perhaps be expected, are the two men to make way as Maurizio Sarri otherwise rolls out the same team that beat Arsenal last weekend.

Marcos Alonso (£6.6m), who comes into this match on the back of successive double-digit hauls, is now the second-most popular defender in Fantasy Premier League after being bought by 470,266 new managers ahead of Gameweek 3.

Chelsea assets are popular in the Fantasy community after their 100% start to the season: five of their front six (the exception being Kovacic) have been bought by more than 100,000 FPL bosses since the Gameweek 2 deadline passed.

It’s all change in the Newcastle United starting XI, with six alterations to the team that drew 0-0 with Cardiff City. The injured Jamaal Lascelles (£5.0m) and Jonjo Shelvey (£5.5m) are among the players to drop out, while there are starts for new signings Fabian Schar (£4.9m), Federico Fernandez (£4.5m), Ki Sung-yeung (£4.9m) and Salomon Rondon (£5.9m).

Rafael Benitez seems to be rolling out a five-man defence, too, switching from his regular 4-4-1-1 system.

Slavisa Jokanovic has also rung the changes at Craven Cottage, with Ryan Sessegnon (£6.4m) and Fabri (£4.5m) among five players to drop to the bench. Denis Odoi (£4.5m) returns from suspension, while Marcus Bettinelli (£4.5m) is a surprise inclusion between the sticks. Andre Schurrle (£5.9m) also returns.

The Burnley team news is much more straightforward: Sean Dyche has named an unchanged starting XI for the third league match in a row.

Chelsea XI (4-3-3): Kepa; Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Luiz, Alonso; Jorginho, Kante, Kovacic; Pedro, Morata, Hazard

Newcastle United XI (5-4-1): Dubravka; Yedlin, Schar, Fernandez, Clark, Dummett; Ritchie, Ki, Diame, Murphy; Rondon

Fulham XI (4-3-3): Bettinelli; Fosu-Mensah, Le Marchand, Odoi, Bryan; Seri, McDonald, Cairney; Vietto, Schurrle, Mitrovic

Burnley XI (4-5-1): Hart; Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Ward; Westwood, Cork, Gudmundsson, Lennon, Hendrick; Wood

Richarlison out and Walcott in seems the most standard (and probably better!) move. I am tempted to do so.

But do you think Richarlison out and Gundongan in, allowing to have enough funds to to Mane out and Hazard in, would be a good move?

    Cheers

it could work, but it might err just on the side of trying to be too clever. Walcott is the obvious & logical move for richarlison, if it doesn't work out, he had the form and the fixtures and the price tag so it will just have been unlucky rather than a bad pick.

Gundogan is intriguing though, i said going into this week that Bilva doesnt offer significantly more than him, for 2.0 more budget. But he's still a selection doubt from week to week.

Mane to Haz looks a smart move for those bold enough to do it.

        Cheers!

I was thinking bringing Hazard in for Mane from GW5 onwards probably, as Liverpool has 3 difficult games from GW5 to GW8, and I already own Salah as well.

However I agree with you - I'll probably just bring Walcott in this week and wait, hoping that Pedro might provide me good attacking returns and mitigate Hazard's absence in my team

Can see a lot of hits now being taken for folks swapping in & out between Zaha/Mitro/King/Wilson... a slippery slope to be on.

Those 4 will all score similar points so exercise caution when chasing points!

One of my main criteria to choose the 6.5/7 forward is fixtures. All of the ones you mentionned seem nailed and in relatively good form.

As a King owner, I am happy he was able to return good points this GW and despite big game from Mitro, I'll probably keep King - despite playing Chelsea next GW, afterwards he has super good fixtures

A: Peltier and Richarlison > 4.4 and Alonso

B: Richarlison > Pedro for free.

    Defence and mids is currently:

    PVA Mendy Robbo AWB Peltier

Salah Richarlison Mane Mkhi and Stephens

      Alonso

Pedro seemed lively today, in my opinion. Not easy to break into that Newcastle defence today, namely during the 1st half. Their main (and probably only) focus was to not conceed a goal.

To be honest I think Sarri will still provide Pedro some decent gametime

    Current team

    Rui Hamer
    Mendy Tomkins AWB Kabesele Peltier
    Mane Salah Richa Fraser Stephens
    Aguero Zaha Aubameyang

1 ft and 0,5m in bank. Trailing my mini league by 50-60 points

Really want Alonso and Hazard in and I have to move quickly before price rises.

    Which option?

    A. Wildcard
    B. Auba Tomkins and Richa to Jimenez Hazard and Alonso (-8)
    C. Tomkins and Richa to Alonso and 5m mid (-4). No Hazard
    D. Auba and Richa to Mitro and Hazard. (-4) No Alonso

B feels the most tempting one, as I don't want to use my wildcard just yet, and Jimenez has decent next two games. After that I can upgrade him to Mitro and downgrade Zaha to Wilson/Ings.

How you predict? How much will fall Richarlison's price during his suspension? Considering to keep him until he's back, also with keeping (very) little hope for successful red's cancellation. I can cope without him during this time and this move mean two transfers during 3 weeks period and the other lineup's problems will surely come... I think that's not worth to do, especially if the potentially replacement wouldn't score enough. I'm just afraid of losing more than 0.3 on the price, is this possible? Seeing what's going on here... everyone is getting rid of him

Mark must be seething. The team he had when Jonty interviewed him about his WC had Mitro, Cairney, Hazard, and VVD in it.

The team he went with had Auba, Sessegnon, Mikhi, and Bennett.

I thought the team with Hazard was much preferable. OK, Sessegnon's benching was unlucky, but it was pretty obvious Mitrovic was the pick as far as Fulham 'coverage' goes, and not just in hindsight.

    Aguero Ings FIRMINO

    1. In FPHell
      • 11 Years

Firmino has been awful, so you'd likely make the -4 back from Hazard. Who would you replace Firmino with though? Hazard and...?

    2. Rinseboy
      • 14 Years
      7 years, 7 months ago

hmm that's the problem would only have 6 mil to spend. unless I take a -8 and do BSilva Richarlison Firm to Haz Wally Zaha?

      1. In FPHell
        • 11 Years
        7 years, 7 months ago

In that case, I'd do Richarlison to Wally to avoid the price drops, keep Firmino for another week, leave Hazard out for now. Week after, maybe take the -4 and go Firmino to Zaha/ Mitro and do the upgrade on Bilva to Haz. You've got AWB on the bench if something awful happens and Bilva loses the rotation roulette next week, so no need to panic there just yet.
My team is similar-ish to yours, and I'm currently thinking I'll hold fire on Hazard for now, just do the Rich replacement, and then maybe WC over the international break, or take a -4 if there isn't too much else I want to sort.
