Sunday’s lunchtime kick-off sees unbeaten Watford take on Crystal Palace, with the visitors’ players the more widely owned in Fantasy Premier League.
One of their more popular assets, Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£4.1m), is suspended for today’s clash at Vicarage Road, with his place at full-back being taken by Joel Ward (£4.4m). Over 134,000 FPL managers sold Wan-Bissaka ahead of the Gameweek 3 deadline, though the budget defender is still present in 21% of our squads: in reality, the youngster’s net number of transfers out was just 568.
James Tomkins (£4.5m), meanwhile, injured himself in the warm-up and was replaced by Martin Kelly (£4.0m) in the Palace starting XI.
Wilfried Zaha (£7.0m) is the most-owned player on show this afternoon, sitting in just under 32% of FPL teams.
Max Meyer (£5.9m) is among the substitutes, despite boss Roy Hodgson saying the German midfielder was “ready to start” in Friday’s press conference.
Given the knee-jerk nature of FPL, Watford’s two most popular assets are unsurprisingly their star performers in Gameweek 1: Roberto Pereyra (£6.1m) and Jose Holebas (£4.6m) are owned by 7.3% and 6.6% of managers respectively.
Troy Deeney (£6.0m) delivered a double-digit haul in the win over Burnley last weekend and is the Hornets’ most-purchased player of this round: the Watford striker has attracted the investment of over 139,000 new FPL managers.
Javi Gracia has named the same Watford team for the third match in a row.
Watford XI (4-4-2): Foster; Janmaat, Cathcart, Kabasele, Holebas; Capoue, Doucoure, Hughes, Pereyra; Deeney, Gray.
Crystal Palace XI (4-4-2): Hennessey; Ward, Kelly, Sakho, van Aanholt; Townsend, Milivojevic, McArthur, Schlupp; Benteke, Zaha.
