The Captain Poll is now open for votes ahead of Gameweek 4 and you can watch our video on the best candidates for the armband below or on our YouTube channel.

The early favourite is Sergio Aguero (£11.2m) who faces an appealing home match-up against Newcastle, a side he is very fond of.

The Manchester City striker has scored 11 goals in his last five home meetings with the Magpies and has already netted a hat-trick in front of his own supporters this season.

With the champions set for the most attractive fixture of the week, options such as Benjamin Mendy (£6.3m) will get consideration as well as David Silva (£8.5m) and Raheem Sterling (£11.0m) if he can hold on to his place.

Also with an appealing match-up is Chelsea, who host the porous Bournemouth defence in Gameweek 4. The Cherries have only allowed two big chances so far in 2018/19, although that does include facing a goal shy Cardiff and they have still conceded three goals in as many matches.

Eden Hazard (£10.6m) is obviously the standout candidate with two assists and goal from just one start and two subsitute appearances in the first three Gameweeks of the season.

However, Pedro (£6.6m) is also an option for those unable to shoehorn the Belgian international into their sides.

As ever, Marcos Alonso (£6.7m) will form part of the conversation now that he has registered a minimum of 11 points in every match so far and has had more shots on goal than any other defender.

Of course Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) has to still be in the conversation as he’s joint-top for shots amongst all players and has created more chances than anyone else.

Do you expect Man City or L'pool to get more clean sheets?

I think they will be roughly the same.

Do you think PVA is worth the extra 1m over Schlupp? The reason I went with PVA is because my bench doesn't really allow for much rotation risk. But annoyingly Schlupp keeps starting and looks like gold at that price.

I really hope I don't regret going Fraser over Gundogan. But I have a feeling I will. Crossing fingers.

Best Hart replacement for the next 6-7 GWs?

    A) Alisson 5.5
    B) Hennessey 4.5
    C) Cech 5.0

A is the safest option but Pools’s fixtures aren’t the best. I would be tempted to take a risk and go Hennessey

Got enough money (just) to buy Hazard. However, I won't be able to afford him if any of my players drop in price, and I own Arnautovic.

Does anyone know if / when Arnautovic will drop?
Reckon I should buy Hazard now?

Anyone else holding on on Richarlison? I already used my ft to get Alonso before his price went up, and now I am in serious doubts

Additionally I am not too happy being doubled on Bournemouth attack. Wasn't the plan but I screwed myself trying to avoid a price drop. Anyway, that I could assess next week I guess. Last gw it worked out greatly though:-)

    4m Ederson
    AWB Tarkowski Mendy Alonso Hoedt
    Salah mane Mkhi Richarlison Ward
    King Wilson Aguero

    Thanks!

I think Lössl will be the preferred choice long term. But he’s probably the 4.0 keeper with the best chances of starting.
And he might rise in price soon

Seeing how Aguero is the obvious captain choice, and with the stats of 11 goals and two assists in the last five home games against NUFC, what are the downsides to putting the TC armband on him?

    1. Cok3y5murf

Those historical stats don't mean anything. He's at 0 goals, 0 assists vs the current Newcastle side

Who has two defensive injuries, and who have conceded fifth most chances this season thus far (against tough opponents, yes).

So you aren't going to captain him at all?

I am, but not because of his old stats.

Now you've mentioned different reasons, which are much more relevant. They still looked solid vs Spurs and Chelsea and were really unlucky to come away with nothing in both games. Not TC worthy for me.

Sorry, three defensive injuries, and two in midfield, plus midfielder suspended.

Probably as good a time as any if you’ve got the kahunas to ignore the DGWs

        Kahunas are way too big.

Just a teeny bit afraid of the defensive approach Benitez put up in the last PL game.

If anyone can find away through that it's City. I think they'll be too strong and keen to bounce back from points dropped at Molineux.
