The Captain Poll is now open for votes ahead of Gameweek 4 and you can watch our video on the best candidates for the armband below or on our YouTube channel.

The early favourite is Sergio Aguero (£11.2m) who faces an appealing home match-up against Newcastle, a side he is very fond of.

The Manchester City striker has scored 11 goals in his last five home meetings with the Magpies and has already netted a hat-trick in front of his own supporters this season.

With the champions set for the most attractive fixture of the week, options such as Benjamin Mendy (£6.3m) will get consideration as well as David Silva (£8.5m) and Raheem Sterling (£11.0m) if he can hold on to his place.

Also with an appealing match-up is Chelsea, who host the porous Bournemouth defence in Gameweek 4. The Cherries have only allowed two big chances so far in 2018/19, although that does include facing a goal shy Cardiff and they have still conceded three goals in as many matches.

Eden Hazard (£10.6m) is obviously the standout candidate with two assists and goal from just one start and two subsitute appearances in the first three Gameweeks of the season.

However, Pedro (£6.6m) is also an option for those unable to shoehorn the Belgian international into their sides.

As ever, Marcos Alonso (£6.7m) will form part of the conversation now that he has registered a minimum of 11 points in every match so far and has had more shots on goal than any other defender.

Of course Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) has to still be in the conversation as he’s joint-top for shots amongst all players and has created more chances than anyone else.

      Mitro for me.

Zaha loses his appeal to some extent as a forward despite the fixtures. He won't score as many goals as Mitro who gets way more shots off

    Seriously considering my WC

I have already used my free transfer to get BDavies out, lacking Chelsea cover, any advice or think i should stick this team out for this GW??

    Hennessey
    Mendy, VVD, WanBiss, Monreal
    Salah, Mane, B.Silva, Mhki
    Aguero, Zaha

    Hamer, Daniels, Fraser, Kamara

The team looks fine for this week.
Would just look to make some changes over the next weeks and have the WC in the pocket. Also given that's it's a week before an international break.

No I think he will play.
He's versatile and trusted by pep at the moment, which is more than you can say for Sane and Mahrez.
His last sub out was purely tactical, as Jeses had to come on trying to make those fast run in behind to Wolves defence.
I believe him to be one of the safest players at City's midfield atm.

Evening lads. I’ve quite literally scaled high ground in a French field to get some signal... And get answers. Don’t worry I brought beers.

Do we know when we will likely see Son competing for a spot again? How many weeks do we think Moura is nailed for?
Does anyone have injury updates on Arny and Tompkins?

    Thanks all, as always.

Son needs to win the tournament to avoid military service. So we don't know when he'll be back.

Moura looks nailed, I wouldn't worry about him losing his place in the next few GWs.

    Currently my team is :

    Patricio-Hamer
    Robertson-Alonso-Mendy-WB-Daniels
    Salah-Mané-BSilva-Walcott-Neves
    Aguero-King-Kamara

    Bank : 1.0

I’ve already done Walcott instead Richardson but I’m uncomfortable with BSilva and Mané (may be on the bench…?).

An advice ? For example DSilva instead BSilva to be sure or not ?

My plan is to cover after the match 6 Spurs with Eriksen or Alli (maybe Moura).

Not sure where to post this question, looking for a draft-specific thread but can't find one. An opponent in my draft league has offered me Azpi, Anderson and Ings for Schlupp, Richarlison and Arnie. Should I do it? My current team is as follows.

    Fabri Begovic
    Bavies Coleman Wan-Biss Schlupp Mina
    Maddison Gross Bilva Fraser Richarlison
    Arnie Firmino Zaha

I'm currently bottom of my draft mini-league.

    1. AndyCook
        7 years, 6 months ago

No I wouldn’t. Your attacking players are better and because you can change players freely with the remaining unowned pool you can get defenders for just one fixture which reduces the appeal of premium defenders unless they offer attacking threat as well as clean sheets - which for Azpi is sort of true

      • AndyCook
          7 years, 6 months ago

I can’t believe there aren’t any better defenders than you have there though.. how many in your league?

He played so well in pre-season and has done so well so far I feel he'll be playing most games. Son might not play straight away after the Asian Games so it'll be worth getting him in at least until a week or 2 after son is back

I guess my team needed a freshing up, si i WC last night. I would love to hear your opinions on this approach: (basically sprading the funds around so i have a VERY decent sub to change around with every GW. Especially important since this tactic is leaning on rotation prone full backs and wingers.

          Ederson
          Trippier, Alonso, Robertson, Mendy
          Salah, Pedro, Walcott, Mkhy, LucasMaura
          Aguero (C)

Good evening all, lurker for a few years on here but first year with an account, and first post! So hoping to give some good advice and maybe get some too 🙂

Okay so my team, think im g2g for the week but struggling to decide who to play out of AWB/Fraser/Ings. Leaning towards AWB but wondered if anyone had any input or has a similar dilemma?

Also any concerns/thoughts (barring reacting to any injuries) I should be aware of for the next few GWs? I'd like to set and forget for a few weeks if possible!

            Hennessy (Hamer)
Alonso - TAA - Mendy - (Tomkins, AWB)
            Hazard - Salah - Mkhi - Pereyra - (Fraser)
            Mitrovic - Aguero (Ings)

            Thoughts on my WC team?

            Fab (hamer)
Mendy TAA AWB ( Bennett, 4.0)
            Haz Moura mane wally (pereyra)
            Kun auba mitro

Giving auba few more weeks. If he is still not delivering then kane comes in and downgrade Moura.

bit light in defence for me i had tomkins this week as my third defender he got injured so no points from awb or peltier my point being that you can get easily stung with 4.0 defenders and u can't upgrade them without needing 2 transfers

Moura is too short term for me still. Pereyra 3/4 very tough games coming up.
And you defence could be at risk. TAA could lose a game here or there and talks about Bennet not being nailed.

Thx. Moura has a few weeks on him I think. Son will need a few weeks to challenge once back.

Good shout on Defence. Will downgrade pereyra and get a regular def

Being on a WC and finding Moura an essential fit , why not ?
Yeah I hear the knee jerk comments . Knee jercks are bringing in Joselu and the like when they score a goal. Anyone that calls bringing in Moura a kneejerck needs to ask themselves , did I see his positioning in the game ? has he gained confidence after the 2 goals ? If you answer no to both then ask yourself , do I know anything !

Pedro! Great next 2 fixtures, on form, created some decent chances at Newcastle

              Walcott. Form, fixture, nailed.
Too risky with Pedro losing minutes or even a start to Willian.

Good WC dilemma this... What do people prefer?

            A) Zaha, Arnie & Neves
            B) Mitro, Jimenez & Moura

That's tonight though so no surprise there. Will wait and see. At least I know his price won't be going up. If anything it looks like people are already getting rid. Come on the drop!!

I'm an owner and I honestly don't care about if he drops. He will definitely be ready for GW 5 and I intend to keep longterm

I was an owner pre-wildcard. Just waiting on news of his fitness. Also want Zaha though, as above. I'd have to bring in Neves to afford those two though. That would mean no Moura, who I also want! But to get him I have to go with Jimenez who I don't really trust, and Mitrovic. But I'm happy to give him a chance I think. Dilemmas, dilemmas...

Yeah it's tough between him and Zaha - I own both though.
Moura is not a big loss imo. Tough fixtures coming up and will face serious threat to his gametime soon with Lamela + Son back.
                          Either way, good luck.

That's what I'm on at the moment but on paper A just looks better if that makes sense.

Would Moura even be nailed once Son is back?

Did that FPL Analyzer script ever get remade? I still have it on my bookmarks and used to use it a lot. It was used for quick copy and paste of your team and also changed the single game beneath a player to the next 3 games, can't remember the other features.
