The Captain Poll is now open for votes ahead of Gameweek 4 and you can watch our video on the best candidates for the armband below or on our YouTube channel.

The early favourite is Sergio Aguero (£11.2m) who faces an appealing home match-up against Newcastle, a side he is very fond of.

The Manchester City striker has scored 11 goals in his last five home meetings with the Magpies and has already netted a hat-trick in front of his own supporters this season.

With the champions set for the most attractive fixture of the week, options such as Benjamin Mendy (£6.3m) will get consideration as well as David Silva (£8.5m) and Raheem Sterling (£11.0m) if he can hold on to his place.

Also with an appealing match-up is Chelsea, who host the porous Bournemouth defence in Gameweek 4. The Cherries have only allowed two big chances so far in 2018/19, although that does include facing a goal shy Cardiff and they have still conceded three goals in as many matches.

Eden Hazard (£10.6m) is obviously the standout candidate with two assists and goal from just one start and two subsitute appearances in the first three Gameweeks of the season.

However, Pedro (£6.6m) is also an option for those unable to shoehorn the Belgian international into their sides.

As ever, Marcos Alonso (£6.7m) will form part of the conversation now that he has registered a minimum of 11 points in every match so far and has had more shots on goal than any other defender.

Of course Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) has to still be in the conversation as he’s joint-top for shots amongst all players and has created more chances than anyone else.

Pickford- not worth 5.0, playing behind a bad defence, I would prefer Ryan-Button for 0.5 cheaper
TAA - try to find another 0.6 (for example from Cook>Bennett) and make it Robertson
      Salah - you know 🙂

Rest is very good, Salah money makes your midfield very strong. It may pay off but risky.

    lost on previous page..

can't get Alonso or Mendy without a -8 this week - have Ederson and Robertson. My issue is Bailly - dropping tonight and keen to do -4 to get rid given his absence from the squad.

    Should I:

    a) Get Bellerin (-4)
    b) Get Luiz (-4)
    c) King & Bailly to Ings & Mendy (-8)
    d) King & Bailly to Alonso & Vietto / Jimenez (-8)
    e) Keep Bailly and hope he plays, Cedric coming on if not (no hits)

So.. I had a horrible start to the season, currently at about 170 points, trailing by at least 60 points in mini leagues I dominated last year.. This is the current squad:

    1.5itb
    Ederson, Begovic
    Alonso, Coleman, Daniels, Tomkins, Bennett
Mane, Mkhitarian, Mahrez, Gudmundsson, Dale Stephens
    Aguero, Firmino, Tosun

Already spent my ft for this gw..

My plan is to stick with Mahrez for the next 4 games hoping that Pep will give him some starts..

    Planned transfers:
    5. Firmino - Aubameyang
    6. Coleman - Pereira
    7. /
    8. Kun and mahrez for Kane and maybe maddison, not sure about that slot..

Does this plan make sense for the next 5-6 gws.? Not sure because every decision I made so far has caused a red arrow

Personally I'd WC. I think sticking with Mahrez isn't wise. He'll get minutes but for that price you could get a nailed on quality mid. D Silva would be my pick at that price from city but plenty of other options. Don't like Coleman or Daniels due to defensive form of teams and Daniels spot is under threat. Much better options in Mendy Robertson PVA
Begovic is a waste of .5 as you,LL never play him. Don't like Tosun or Firm despite fixtures and quality respectively.

      1. GP 50
        • 8 Years
        7 years, 6 months ago

I wouldn't switch to another city mid because I know that will mean Mahrez back to back hattricks and my new player watching it from the stands 😀

Coleman will go after next two easy matches..

Begovic is a waste, he will go around gw 9-10, when I plan to switch ederson and him for probably Dubravka and Ryan, and rotate the pair because they have nice sync..

I don't want to take a hit for Firmino now, because the last hit I took was to get Mkhi for Moura.. Believed that Mkhi at home vs horrible WH defense is better tham Moura at old trafford, and Tosun seems good pick for next 2 matches at least..

Players I would get rid of with wc flr this gw are mahrez, daniels, gudmundsson, begovic and firmimo.. Not sure if that is worth it, or just keep this and wc around gw 13-15

Hi All.. repost from an old article
What would you do with the below .. 1FT and 2.8 in bank

    McCarthy
    Robbo Tripper** AWB Daniels
    Salah Pedro Mikh
    Zaha Kane Arnie**

    Speorni Richarlison** Romeu Suttner

Worried about tripper and Arnie's injury .. also tripper might be bench next week and after that he his facing Liverpool

Also, how do you see Sigurdsson and Grob as differential replacement for Rich?

After a decent start to the season, this week has thrown up a few question marks for my team with a ban, a couple of possible injuries and also rotation fears. I have therefore decided to WC this week.

    OUT- Pickford/Schlupp/Cairney/Richarlison/BSilva/Mane/Arnie

    IN - Hennessey/Bennett/Moura/Mhki/Fraser/Hazard/Wilson
Gives me WC Team as follows:

    Hennessey
    Robertson/Mendy/Alonso
    Moura/Mhki/Salah/Fraser/Hazard(C)
    Aguero/Wilson
    Subs:Stek/AWB/Bennett/Success

Feel this gives team gives me some nice coverage over the next few GW's with mostly favourable fixtures, in form players and the opportunity to bring Hazard in before he starts hovering up the points!
Main losses are Mane and Arnie but feel replacements can easily replace, if not greatly outscore them over coming weeks?
    Genius? or Genie-arse?
    Any comments appreciated

You think? Im worried about his position switching and slow start. Really hard competition for those offensive spots as well.

          • 13 Years
          7 years, 6 months ago

Yea. Both Moura and Pedro are more at risk of being rotated long term imo.
Rich is banned for the next 2, so would actually transfer him in.
Mkhi a slight risk, but a good option. Walcott a good option as well, as he is nailed, fixtures and form.

This wildcard team is too imbalanced right?

    4.5 / 4.0

    Alonso / Robertson / Mendy / TAA / AWB

    Hazard / Mane / D.Silva / Mkhi / 4.5

    Kun / Mitro / Jiminez

Would make it very difficult to get in another premium forward or an additional Liverpool attacker i.e Mane and Salah

I just like how fixture proof a lot of the players are.

Off on holiday so need to plug my Richarlison leak!

Have 7.1 to spend (keeping cash itb would be added bonus). Wally seems obvious choice. Moura complete bandwagon option. No thoughts in between!

    Talk to me FPL family...

        Yep. Wally form, fixtures, nailed.
+ if something happens and you have to keep long term, Moura is in way too great a threat will Lamela + Son back

yes I think so. will Alonso get an extra 4 points this week, possibly ( clean sheet).
its one of them that could massively reward or frustrate when LFC get a clean sheet and robbo gets a goal ha ha

You are right. I’ll do -4 next week. Peltier and Firmino out, Alonso in

Spread that move out over a couple weeks, I definitely wouldn't take a hit given how Robbo is returning atm.
