Hi guys, unsure of who to bench...

    Ederson
    Robertson - Mendy - Alonso
    Moura - Mane - Walcott - Hazard
    Arnie - Mitrovic - Aguero (c)

    Speroni - AWB - Capoue - Bennett

Thinking I should bench one of Moura, Mitrovic or AWB? Thoughts? Or is Arnie enough of a starting risk to bench him instead?

Planning to sell Mané next week ahead of the tough fixture run. I could do:

    A) Downgrade to 8m or so, leaving cash for upgrade elsewhere the following week

    B) Downgrade to Pereyra or similar and upgrade Tosun to Auba

    C) Downgrade Tosun and upgrade to Hazard

    Thoughts?

I just think it’s stupid selling Mane etc. It’s not like he can’t score against anyone, is it?

Any imorivents I could make to this WC team? Fraser, Moura > 5.2 max, Ramsey?

    Hennessey, Hamer
    Alonso, VVD, Mendy, WanB, Bennet
    Salah, Haz, Moura, Wally, Fraser
    Kun, Mitro, 4.5

I wouldn't risk it going only with Hennessey as a goalie. They have couple good options. Hamer is not nailed.

      Might go Trippier over VVD.

Fair enough. I wildcarded last week. Don't really want to use FTs for goalies/bench so went with that extra .5 for Ryan who rotates really well. Palace fixtures also toughen up after GW9 and they are quite bad up until 20 or so.

V similar to my WC team, but Ive gone with 2 4.5 mil keepers (Henn + Bego) and plan to go 343 with Kun Wilson Ings. Your team looks great tho, stick with it!

This ‘I’m getting rid of my Liverpool players due to their fixtures’ attitude: it’s Liverpool not bloody Watford. They can score against anyone and sometimes more against ‘better’ teams as those teams attack. See Man City last season etc.

Yep. Wouldn't get rid of Salah or Robertson due to tough fixtures. May be persuaded to ditch Mane for Hazard if Hazard goes wild this week, but it will seem strange losing a quality attacking player from most attacking side in prem and having to downgrade elsewhere in order to do so.

Liverpool is far and away from "most attacking side in prem"...look the are best defensive one after 3 fixtures.

When playing attacking teams it’s probably even more logical to get City and Liverpool assets in.

Only reason I will sell City or Liverpool assets would be for a dramatic dip in form or injury.

The fixtures mean nought for these sides.

So true. No need for it. However - any opinions on whether Shaquiri will get starts? Maybe over Mane? I'm still holding Firmino (and hoping for him to start picking up points) as it seems he's integral to how Liverpool play and move. Not sure Sturridge or Solanke can take Firmino's place...

          • 8 Years

Firmino is as nailed as they come. He is pivotal to Klopp’s play. Shaqiri will get games when CL starts. He has got ‘poonts’, 2 assists is ‘points’. He’ll haul soon.

I don't think so. I'm confident Robbo will return in those weeks given Liverpool's form and play style. could easily get an assist in a game where he concedes.

I wouldn't use FTs to take them out but on wildcard there are plenty viable strategies.

        A) Hazard over Mane last week. Personally didn't feel the need as I would not captain him over Salah/Kun and 10.5 is a lot. Have Alonso and Pedro for their run of fixtures

        B) No Pool defence is a an option as well. I kept Robbo.

        C) Selling Salah not out of the question.

You saw the Fulham West Ham rotating keepers combo? Means gambling on which Fulham keeper and also means having both Fulham and West Ham defence, but apart from that rotate beautifully. Fwiw I think Fab will get loads of save points if nothing else.

Eyeing up potential Peltier replacements, great spots regarding Taylor and Le Marchand! However, may not opt for Taylor as Gudmundson expected back 16th Sep :S Unfortunately don't think there are any 4.5's or below besides AWB that are actually viable ...

Depends how long term you're looking. Brighton, Newcastle and Wolves all have good runs of fixtures coming up from gw7 or 8 onwards. I'd hold off on the move for now though, some decent 4.4m options should emerge after their tough fixtures

No. That's a horrible team outside of those 4 players. Very imbalanced and too many captain decisions to make. You'll end up getting it wrong more times than you get it right. You'll end up with 7 players doing nothing for you, 3 players returning and your captain blanking more weeks than not

Thanks mates. Probably will go salãh to mane and improve mid and defense (Mendy and Walcott or mikhi).

      Mendy Robbo Wan Tomkins Kabasele
      Salah Mane Mkhi Richar Ward
      Aguero Ings Arnie

Obviously Rich is staring me in the face. But I'm slightly tempted to keep him.
I have 1.2m in the bank. I could possibly go simple like Rich to Wally/Moura/Pedro. Or go a little more aggressive with a Mane to Hazard kind of move. Or should I try and get Alonso in. Ha, or even save FT for the international break.

You've saved it this long and taken the price drops/increases so you might as well keep it for a 'mini wildcard' next week. You can still field a good starting 11 this week.

I have a very similar team and predicament. I went for the simple Rich > Wally for now.
I think the fixtures are right if he is going to shine. Shall see - but at least it isn't an overhaul - more just a like for like / placeholder if you want to look at it that way.

If Tomkins is comfirmed fit, I'd get Hazard. If he isn't, and you have Rich out as well, it may be better to sell one of your unavailable players.

Tbf your team looks pretty good bar the Richarlison suspension ... I opted for Rich > Moura due to having 2 FT's but if you're strong enough would be tempted to hold! 2 FT's in an international break always works a treat, boring but effective!

Depends on how much you care about possibly losing value on Rich as well!

Alonso looks a great pick but assuming that would require Mendy/Robbo to go or a -4? Who would you sell to bring Alonso in?

Personally would hold on Mané, can see peoples logic in shipping but have to agree with the view that Liverpool are one of the more attacking teams in the league capable of contesting the title. As everyone starts shipping Mane, holding both Salah and Mane could be quite effective!

Im fairly happy with the team but I can see myself slipping behind as some alternative players are starting to shine.
Yes id have to take a -4 and I'm not sure if its worth it. Kabasele would make way.

Understandable, can't beat your own judgement though; a lot of people saying Mané looked sluggish last GW, I didn't watch so can't make my own judgement but if he is failing the eye test ... could be the time to drop and get ahead of the curve!

Kabasele to Alonso makes sense, the only thing leaning me towards a -4 for Alonso is if his price continues to rise and you get locked out! Especially as in theory, Alonso is a 'long-term' transfer.

Shaw Bilva and King to Bennett Hazard and Kamara.

      Ending up with this.

      Fabs/Foster
      Mendy Alonso Tomkins Robertson
      Lucas Mkhitaryan Hazard Salah
      Mitrovic Aguero

      Kamara Bennett Stephens.

      Looks good?

On my WC. 0.6 in the bank.

      Ederson/Foster

      Mendy/Trippier/TAA/Stankovic/Wan-B

      Pereyra/Pedro/Salah/Walcott/Moura

      Wilson/Zaha/Augero

Not sure about Trippier, feel like there are perhaps cheaper options and I could perhaps hold back that money to swap out my mids at a later date?

Alternitivly I could swap out Salah for Mane and look at upgrading my mids a bit more?

I've gone with Ings only because I reckon people have hyped up the Palace defence a bit too much. WB is a nice cheap nailed enabler who can come on if necessary, but Palace do concede a lot of shots... Ings takes a lot of shots... WB will probs only play 1/10 of my next games
