Gameweek 4’s Sunday Fantasy Premier League matches look set to be heavily effected by set pieces this weekend.

    Mendy Robbo Tomkins*
    Salah Mane* Hazard Fraser
    Aguero Arnie ings

    Hamer WB Peltier Stephens

My team is decent for this week but ive got a few players playing against each other too and also a few price changes might affect my wildcard. So does it make sense to play the wc now (was planning maybe next week) to avoid price changes?
    WC:
    Ryan
    Mendy Alonso Trippier Trent
    Salah Hazard Walcott Mkhi
    Aguero Mitro

Ryan. Clean sheet isn't all that likely for either, but Ryan is racking up the saves and Mitro pretty much shoots on sight (including a lot from outside the box).

Sorry to re-post. Bottomed earlier today...

I'm going into one of those weeks where I feel like I'm giving 'last chances' to a fair few...
I've already done Rich to Walcott for free - anything else worth a hit?

    Ryan
    Mendy - Robbo - D Luiz - AwB
    Bilva - Walcott - Mané
    Kun (c) - Auba - Firmino

AWB - Pereyra is bang in form and looks great and has the stats to back it up.

Oh and the small factor that he actually has more points than Salah so far - most overlooked player by FFS this season by far.

        There's sense in this.

Other argument though is that the stats suggest he's over-performed so far and this is likely to normalise at some point.

          • 9 Years

I watched him on MOTD and everything Watford do comes throu him. Wan is returning from suspension and played mid week. I’d go Pereyra but I can put forward good arguements for both tbh, and in those cases I just go with forwards purely because it’s more fun

Asked how he feels about the strength in depth of the Liverpool squad, Jurgen Klopp said: "Today it's good, but it needs ti stay good.

"That's how it is. It was always clear that it would be a bit different.

"We've started now three times in a row with the same starting lineup. That will not happen too often from now on in the future.

"It's probably not possible, but hopefully we have the choice as well.

"It's not about knowing who is available - it's about the guy who is available can perform at the highest level.

"We need a good result tomorrow and a good result in all the other games, and for that we need all the players."

Since there a good response to my post last week about working out when media reports are accurate, here is a follow up. The previous post is on hot topics so I’ll skip the points that it covered and concentrate on some further pointers:

    1) check who’s NOT covering a story. For example, if just the Express and Mail are reporting that Lacazette is leaving Arsenal, that should tell you that more reliable outlets don’t believe it. Of course if everyone is running something including reliable sources like Telegraph and The Times then that is a good indicator it’s true.
    2) the level of detail is often a good indicator. For example a piece that says that Ozil has laryngitis rather than is just “ill” is definitely more likely to be accurate.
    3) quotes - this was mentioned in the comments to my first post on this topic but personally I think they are overrated as a guide to accuracy. They get used out of context so often just to make a piece look better that unless the quote is from a named source and very clear I usually ignore.
    4. Free media. I tend not to trust anything that is basically free, other than a few sources. Paid for media will often employ the more experienced journos or invest in time for fact checking while a lot of free media are just churning out clickbate or publishing so many stories online that it is impossible for the journos to check them. That said, this is a massive generalisation and there are some good free media outlets. Sky news for example publishes a lot of stuff that is probably not going to happen but they are very clear about how advanced a deal is.

      Nice post, really interesting reading.

IMO the less respectable outlets tend to fall into two opposite camps, and the information each put out can sit at both ends of the spectrum.

Those who are happy to run with a rumour just to get it out there first (or be the only ones) - and they can also possibly be a bit click-baity. They can be gold for exclusive stories but are usually simply false.

Those who don't do their own research and simply recycle someone else's story. These are of course useless.

      Ings a doubt.

Cairney suddenly out for two weeks.

Richarlison – keen on keeping him, but fate is forcing my hand here.

      Peltier probably not playing.

      A) Rich -> Pedro (-4)
      B) Cairney -> Neves (-4)
      C) ?

This is his week. If he doesn’t play this week you know you have him every chance.

He's looked sharp and hungry everytime he's come on. Even if he doesn't start he has a good chance of point v Cardiff. And if he starts and does well, Emery is the kind of manager to stick with him moving fwd.

Unless you have a good long term alternative, hold for this week.

I just think the optimal 3 City are Ederson , Mendy, Aguero

Why Ederson? 156 points last season with 16 clean sheets. Ryan at 4.5 got 146 points. Bonus and save points > clean sheets and much better value

I just think for now Ederson will keep plenty of CS and I have to Ryan to cover him I mean if we can get those points together that would be awesome, it's just getting the right players at the right time.

Yeah probably the most ideal 3, but the question was about midfielders 😀

I'm leaning towards Dsilva but it comes with sacrifice. hoping for some love towards cheaper options

The only way I could bring myself to lose Salah is to go with another premium with great fixtures and (c) potential. Already have Hazard and Aguero, that just leaves Aubameyang for me, so if your going Salah-less at least have these 3.
