The Fantasy Football Scout Community have been busy at work again this week, producing the usual excellent array of articles and tables to help with our planning for Gameweek 4.

The hot topics, meanwhile, have ranged from short-term absentees to Liverpool assets and everything in between.

Our latest Community Round-up feature has it all covered.

The Hottest Topics

Celt Abroad kicked off the Gameweek 3 reaction with a look at the possible replacements for Richarlison, who was sent off in Everton’s 2-2 draw with Bournemouth.

With Richarlison in mind, Gregor asked if we should sell or keep our short-term absentees and looked at the new suspension rules.

Our regular “Rough with the Smooth” thread turned up the usual success stories and horror tales, while flaming_iles discussed his own excellent start using the RMT tool.

DortmundisLove revealed the past statistics that don’t bode well for defence-heavy teams, meanwhile.

The discussion about Liverpool assets continued, with Rainer looking at the Reds’ fixtures in between the two international breaks.

Legomane floated his method of combating the impact of price falls, while RedLightning examined the overall FPL leader’s early chip usage.

The Gameweek 4 planning started with tambourineman‘s round-up of the weekend’s referees, before G-Whizz gave his weekly clean sheet probabilities, match odds and “Doosra stats”.  We also speculated on the breakout players of this coming Saturday/Sunday.

Jekori highlighted the excellent Fulham/West Ham rotation, while Reckoner looked at the best £4.5m midfielders. On the subject of budget assets: what do we do with blister victim Danny Ings?

Concerning the site itself, Benster gave some frank comments on the Scoutcast while we had a live Hall of Fame update for the first time this season.

Finally, there was a fond farewell to Niemi as a mod – but a warm welcome to Rotation’s Alter Ego.

Community Tables

Among the many, many fine tables created this week were the following efforts:

beans_on_toast

sun_jihai

drewshape

Keep your tables coming in for inclusion in our weekly round-up, with a title and description always appreciated to explain the purpose of the statistical analysis.

Community Articles

There were more super scribblings from the Community this week.

Hutch_James provided another excellent Wisdom of the Crowd, FPL Paulius looked at Gameweek 4 captains and Greyhead examined the fortunes of some elite FPL managers.

Community Tournaments

RedLightning continued his impressive start to the season to consolidate his lead at the top of the FFS Mods and Cons league. Chris James crept above TorresMagic into second, meanwhile.

1. RedLightning – 270 points
2. Chris James – 252 points
3. TorresMagic – 238 points
4. Ragabolly – 232 points
5. Geoff – 229 points

Scott Macalister is the new leader of our public FantasyFootballScout league – and has done it all without using a chip. Scott is actually tied with Cosmin Rotaru and Warren Lim (who are joint-second) but has made fewer transfers.

1. Scott Macalister – 277 points
2=. Warren Lim – 277 points
2=. Cosmin Rotaru – 277 points
4. Jasem Alturki – 276 points
5. Andy Parsons – 274 points

Nick Howard still leads the FFS Members league. Having played his Bench Boost chip in Gameweek 1, he followed that up with a Wildcard in Gameweek 2 and is now ranked 28th in the world. Our very own moderator RedLightning is also up to third.

1. Nick Howard – 281 points
2. Ryan Brazell – 271 points
3. RedLightning – 270 points
4. Graeme Bye – 269 points
5. Luke Pickering – 268 points

Meanwhile, Andrew Garland is the new leader of RedLightning‘s Top 10k Any Season mini-league, three points ahead of the league’s creator. Pete Bullingham and Francisco Lamarque are actually tied in third.

1. Andrew Garland – 273 points
2. RedLightning – 270 points
3=. Pete Bullingham – 266 points
3=. Francisco Lamarque – 266 points
5. Luke Aiello – 259 points

Need an Aubameyang goal more than anything this GW, missing out on Kun's haul in GW2 hurt big time, just know Aubameyang will hit form soon so don't wish to swap him out

Please rate my wildcard team. Need to gain ground so gone quite bold I think

    Hennessey
    Mendy Alonso Robertson Trippier
    Salah Hazard Hughes Kante
    Aguero Zaha

Subs - Schmeicel AWB Stephens Kamara

I have 1.5 in bank to be able to upgrade Aguero to Kane when I want to

I am thinking of playing 5 at the back this week cause I don’t think Hughes will do much at spurs, while AWB home to Southampton could be good

I’d rather 433 with someone like Wilson than 442 with your 3rd and 4th Mid. Not a bad team though.

    B) TAA + Bellerin

B given Arsenal’s run. Although AWB if you don’t already have him given the Palace fixtures makes A better.

Can't justify getting Hazard. For example look at this:

    Hazard, Kante & 4.5 GK

    David Silva, Pedro. 5m GK

Is Pep going to drop a guy who scored a hat-trick on his last home appearance and has 5 goals in 4 games this season?

I think there is more chance of Pep playing the same team he did against Huddersfield, but perhaps Sterling instead of Bernardo

You think Ings will start this weekend?

Doubt creeping on that very question made me start thinkering.

Do you like this WC team?

        Patricio/Hamer
        Robbo/Mendy/Alonso/Pereira/WB
        Salah/Hazard/Walcott/Gray/Neves
        Aguero/Mitro/Ings

        What would you change?

          • 13 Years
          8 years, 17 days ago

I’m starting him over AWB and Pereira. Think he should start.
That’s a good squad to carry Ings anyway.

          Are you planning 4-4-2?

          Love the Gray pick.

            • 10 Years
            8 years, 17 days ago

I wanted my team to be flexible.

433 this GW, 352/442 GW5 and 532 GW6. All have great fixtures with that plan.

            1. The 12th Man
              • 13 Years
              8 years, 17 days ago

Yeh similar plans as myself. Only I have a 4.5m mf
              I used WC last week.

              Ederson
              Mendy,Alonso,TAA
              Salah(vc)Hazard,Mkhitarian,Fraser
              Aguero(c)Zaha,Ings

              Hamer,AWB,Periera,Guendouzi

I have TAA instead of Robertson. So I can bench him over the hard fixtures for Periera or AWB.

Do not do this move, Mane can easily grab a brace while Haz trolls

Like the Gray/Fraser thing you have going.

      I’d prefer Monreal over Bellerin
