Saturday’s late kick-off is set to be a huge one for Fantasy Premier League managers all over the world.

That’s because it features Gameweek 4’s most captained option Sergio Aguero (£11.3m) in action against Newcastle United, a side he has scored nine goals in his last three home matches against.

The Manchester City man sits in 49 percent of squads and has been handed the captain’s armband by 1.7 million managers.

Crucially, he goes into this match after Mohamed Salah (£13.0m), captained by 1.2 million, blanked at Leicester and did not even complete the match.

Also heavily backed by Fantasy enthusiasts is defender Benjamin Mendy (£6.4m), in 34 percent of squads worldwide. He has already racked up four assists this season and even managed to pull in bonus points against Wolves despite registering no offensive or defensive returns.

Bernardo Silva‘s (£7.6m) run of three consecutive starts for Manchester City has come to an end as he dropped to the bench. Meanwhile, Riyad Mahrez (£8.8m) was recalled.

It should also be noted that key set piece target Aymeric Laporte (£5.5m) has defied Pep Guardiola’s rotation policy for a fourth match in a row. His centre-back partner for this match-up is John Stones (£5.5m), Vincent Kompany (£5.4m) named on the bench.

Newcastle have gone with a back five for this match with Paul Dummett (£4.5m) and DeAndre Yedlin (£4.5m) flanking Ciaran Clark (£4.5m), Federico Fernadez (£4.5m) and Jamaal Lascelles (£4.9m). The club captain happens to be the most popular Magpie for Gameweek 4, in six percent of squads.

Second-most fashionable Newcastle option Joselu (£5.0m) drops to the bench with Ayoze Perez (£6.3m) and Salomon Rondon (£5.9m) named up front.

MANCHESTER CITY XI (4-4-2): Ederson: Mendy, Stones, Laporte, Walker; Sterling, D Silva, Fernandinho, Mahrez; Jesus, Aguero.

NEWCASTLE UNITED XI (5-3-2): Dubravka; Dummett, Clark, Fernandez, Lascelles, Yedlin; Kenedy, Diame, Ki; Perez, Rondon.

Am I crazy to be considering Salah to Hazard for the next few fixtures, as a standalone transfer?

No, not really. He will probably outscore Salah

I wouldn’t do it. If Liverpool sit back more it’s gonna open more space for Salah, so he’s pretty mucch fixture proof. His stats are also unmatched so be careful.

Bernardo is a smarter player than Jesus. Bernardo runs into the space to provide a passing option to his teammates. Jesus just looks to make runs behind and to goal.

I did, but I am happy with Aguero. Captained him 2x - once for 20pts and once today. If he keeps scoring at this rate when I captain him he will be perfect.

Tripling on a single game week can work but its far too random to risk. It's just daft tactics.

I'd only ever TC on a dgw and it will have to be either Kun Kane Salah or maybe Hazard

        • 9 Years

indeed, it's just too much to ask for to ask for 15+ points in a single game even for a player of Aguero's caliber

It was a gamble, but a reasonable one I think given the difficulty in nailing DGW success with TC.
