There has been plenty of Fantasy Premier League interest surrounding Marco Silva’s new-look Everton side in 2018/19, but is it justified?

Richarlison (£6.7m) and Theo Walcott (£6.8m) have at different times this season been at the centre of the debate and are currently the Toffees’ two most-owned outfielders, so we’re assessing the pros and cons of holding onto either player in the coming weeks.

We’re also taking this opportunity to analyse what impact their new manager has had at Goodison Park since his appointment.

Walcott’s injury-enforced exit after 57 minutes of Everton’s 1-1 draw with Huddersfield Town at the weekend capped off a frustrating day for the Toffees and the circa one million FPL managers who owned the former Arsenal winger.

Further updates are awaited on the extent of Walcott’s rib problem and, although he currently is the most-sold midfielder of this round, a large chunk of his owners are sitting on the mid-priced option for now with a plum home fixture against West Ham United to come in Gameweek 5.

While Richarlison has had his deserters since his dismissal in the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth a fortnight ago, the Brazilian has – like Walcott – been retained by just under 15% of FPL managers.

That the mass exodus for either player hasn’t happened on a much wider scale is perhaps explained by two factors: Everton’s forthcoming fixtures and Silva’s reputation for delivering attacking football.

A cursory look at the Season Ticker long-term doesn’t cast the Toffees in a favourable light, given that they have trips to Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City to come between now and mid-December.

Filtering by home fixtures, however, gives cause for optimism. Everton top our Season Ticker for matches on home soil between now and Gameweek 16, with the Hammers, Fulham, Crystal Palace, Brighton & Hove Albion, Cardiff City, Newcastle United and Watford all to visit Merseyside during that period.

Even the trips to Stamford Bridge and the Emirates aren’t too daunting from an offensive perspective, given that Chelsea and especially Arsenal have looked a little suspect in defence this season.

Silva’s renown for favouring a more aesthetically pleasing brand of football is something we will explore here, looking at the early impact the former Watford manager has had on Everton’s more attack-minded players from a Fantasy perspective – as well as any notable difference in the performances of his backline.

Does anyone know if there's a chance Hamer goes back in between the sticks once fit again or is it Lossl's place now? I don't follow Huddersfield at all so I'm a bit in the dark, sorry if it's common knowledge.

Hennessey will do me up til GW10 but if Hamer is going to be dead weight I need to plan to bring in another by then. Would be ace if I could keep him at 4.0 he rotates with Henn almost perfectly!

    WC Question:

    A) Arnautovic and Mané
    B) Moura and Lacazette

    1. Misery Loves Kompany
      • 11 Years
      7 years, 5 months ago

A if you want nailedness, B is way more punty but a huge upside particularly if Lacazette kicks on from his last performance, nice differential.

I'd probably go A if leading, B if chasing.

Didn't think about the nailedness, but I totally agree with you. I'm actually leadning my mini league and have had Moura/Laca from the start, was so crazy to not see Laca starting the first weeks. He had a very good pre-season.

    Used the comparison tool on

    Maddison
    Schurrle
    Fraser
    Pererya

All pretty similar but Schurrle edges it with expected goals, shots etc.

    But Fraser has the fixtures..

    Thoughts??

Downgrading Bilva to afford Alonso so want to get it right...

Fraser's numbers were likely down because they were away at Chelsea and played a more defensive formation. Can't really base anything on one game, especially a game like that one.

    4. jtreble
      • 9 Years
      7 years, 5 months ago

AFAIK, the tool takes FDR into account. So, apples-to-apples, Schurrle wins. BTW, I’ve found the RMT Tool to be freakishly accurate this season.

      1. camarozz
        • 11 Years
        7 years, 5 months ago

Yeah it's a tough one. Can't see Pererya keeping it up especially with the fixtures.

Comparison tool is great but it confuses me more if I'm honest.

Should add I have King also so maybe double Bournemouth is too much??

Narrowed down to Maddison /Schurrle then?

        1. jtreble
          • 9 Years
          7 years, 5 months ago

Sorry, I wasn’t clear above. My bad. I mostly use the ***RMT Tool*** to compare players over fixture runs to help me make decisions like yours (e.g., Fraser vs. Schurrle)

      2. I Member

Madness to go without Alonso on a WC. I would downgrade Firmino, all of Mitro/Arnie/Wilson are good options. And yeah wouldnt keep Mkhi.

Luiz isn’t justifying a selection IMO
In the medium term you’re likely better off with Vardy/Dsilva than Firmino/Mhki, might still be a bit short on cash but can downgrade Luiz

CHO and Bednarek were bad picks as not going to play so inevitable just lose money and base price. What about Ward at Cardiff playing as forward?

My season has started brilliantly besides a (now), 4.4m non playing phenom from preseason.

            I'll take it.

Yea Ward is an option thanks

CHO was so dumb. But I was so seduced by the idea of a 4.5 attacking midfielder playing for Chelsea. I'm taking the second price fall on the chin. 🙁

      Nice team.
I am just waiting on the post to inform you that you have no Salah (like you didn’t notice it) and thus you are breaking the terms and conditions , and you will be punished.

Tbh i am not sure if i am definitely going Salah-less but if I do he is only two transfers away in gw9 (upgrade Hazard most likely)

      You like 3-5-2 ?
Or could you downgrade Fraser and up Ings for a 3-4-3

I am open to both- but I do think Fraser offers exceptional value at the moment, especially with those fixtures coming up.

Who to replace Ings with? Wilson?

That's going to be my front 3.
I would probably go for Fraser if I didn't have Wilson, to be fair.
Guess it's down to the formation but I'm thinking a 6.7m forward will net you more than a 5.6m mid.

      Close to getting him.

      PVA ➡️ Alonso
      Bilva ➡️Maddison - 4

Have Robbo + Mendy +AWB for bench.

Have Patricio and Foster for rotation. Quite liking.
    Anyone think:
    A) stick with the rotation option;
    B) get Hamer for bench, play Patricio, add 0.5 to team.

I prefer A just for security.

depends on how the 0.5 will improve your team if not much then stick with the rotation option

If I knew Hamer was playing for sure...
Probably 0.5 not that important at moment.
Will keep thinking on this one...

Bilva could drop, but if you got him for 7.5 thats not an issue. Maddison on 90% wont rise just yet. That being said I wouldnt spend a transfer on that.

    mitro or wilson on WC?

    1. Limited & Mediocre Mana…
      • 9 Years

Mitro IMO but Wilson is still a solid option for sure. If you think the extra £ elsewhere can make a significant difference then Wilson should be fine.

      1. Emiliano Sala
        • 9 Years
        7 years, 5 months ago

no but look, for gw 12 till 16 I don't want mitro at all
away matches vs utd , chelsea and liverpool. too hard for me to consider.
so it's basically before that and wilson has the fixtures too keep till 13 maybe. considering arsenal and utd at home a little easier.
and mitro has city and arsenal in coming weeks and if he fails may cause a rage transfer.
tho I had mitro from the start, but now I feel wilson is better option

Both very good options with similar stats. Mitro possibly the more long term option, but shouldnt go wrong either way.

Just after some thoughts on the following. I have 1 ft & 0.0itb & still have my wc. Current team before trades:

    Foster
    Alonso, Mendy, Robertson
    Salah, Mane, Bilva, Walcott
    Aguero (c), Wilson, Jimenez

    Boruc, Shaw, WB, Hughes

    Which option do you like:
    (a) save ft or
    (b) Foster out - Patricio in or
    (c) Bilva out - Pedro in or
    (d) Mane & Bilva out - Hazard & Maddison in for -4 hit

    Thoughts & thanks.
