Fantasy Football Scout are pleased to announce the very first episode of Meet the Manager, where we interview Fantasy managers with a superb track record over their career.

Over the season we’ll find out from them what it takes to get a top finish in the game, explore their key strategies for success and also gain some valuable tips on tackling the current campaign.

To kick off the series I was joined earlier today by Nick, who is better known within the Fantasy Football Scout community as Triggerlips.

Over his 11-year career, he has finished in the top 1,000 an impressive four times, including 2012/13’s finish of 35th. Indeed across his last nine campaigns, he has only finished outside the top 50,000 twice.

Paying close attention to team structure and balanced distribution of funds is among the nuggets of advice that New Zealand-based Nick serves up.

He also reveals the importance of accumulating wealth early on and making sure the vast array of Fantasy advice on social media is treated with caution.

And while he is taking a patient approach with Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this season he is “not liking the look of (Mohamed) Salah one little bit”.

The chat with Nick is available to view on YouTube here and in the embedded video below:

no new reports since the report that he didn't train yesterday (ahead of tonights' game). A few initiated city reporters have said earlier that it isn't thought to be serious, and even though we don't know if that means 4 days or 14 days we can't rule out that he'll play this weekend.

Hopefully (but not likely) Pep's press conference will shed some light on the situation

I have a suspicion it’s not an injury cuz he was used as a (healthy) sub in France’s game immediately preceding last gw. Also the fact his ‘injury’ hasn’t been described adds fuel to the fire that his benching wasn’t purely related to a health problem..

Worth taking a -4 hit to get in Haz:

    Ryan
    Alonso Mendy VVD AWB
    Salah Bilva* Fraser
    Firmino* Aguero Mitrovic
    (Fab Kante Cairney Peltier)

    Looking at Firmino & Bilva > Haz & Zaha/Arnie/King

Otherwise I'd look to float my FT this week

    1. PrettyDick
      • 8 Years
      7 years, 11 months ago

      float it imo

And next week you can do Salah --> Hazard (and use your other FT on Bilva --> mane if you want more liverpool coverage, or do a different transfer)

    Fishing for more advice....

How is this Wild Card team..? Might dump Aguero for Giroud..?

    Patricio

    Alonso Mendy Holebas
    Fraser DSilva Hazard Moura
    Mitro Lukaku Agüero

    Button Doherty AWB Ward

For the two that answered.... My balls are huge and in a wheel barrow and yeah no Liverpool is hard as I'm a die hard fan of the team obviously.

    1. Licious Lizard

Lose Moura for Rich (or Maddi if you prefer) and upgrade Button to Ryan/Hen

    2. PrettyDick
      • 8 Years
      7 years, 11 months ago

I am as well 😉 and I stand by my thoughts 🙂

Don't think you should dump Aguero for Giroud. Not because I don't think Giroud will get you points, but because I think Aguero is more likely to get you more.

In shorter term he's also more likely to get fewer minutes with they EL away tie tomorrow, and then double liverpool the week following this weekend's derby..

If you're looking to get some more funds I'd downgrade Mitro --> Ings, however that is a tough one because I think Mitro could get a fair few points. The idea then though is that Ings would sometimes be on your bench and you could upgrade Ward to Shaw/Monreal/ or even Trippier/Robbo

    How did Bilva look tonight?

(If he wasnt great) Also which move?

    A. Robbo Bilva > Bennett hazard
    B. Mendy Bilva > Doherty hazard

    1. PrettyDick
      • 8 Years
      7 years, 11 months ago

very few city players looked "great" (the two that came closest were the two subs, Sane and Aguero) but Bilva definitely didn't have a bad game.

For me, none of those moves (unless we get more info on Mendy's injury) so can't help you there, sorry.

      good luck

Maddison is an option. I'm looking at Fraser, Seri, Milner, or Jorginho to save some money.

Moura has looked good, Pedro may lack some playing time, but he'll be involved when on the pitch.

      It's a possibility...after playing 90 back-to-back. Can see him starting and getting about 60.

    2. PrettyDick
      • 8 Years
      7 years, 11 months ago

Always a risk with Pep but my guess is that he'll play his best team and he loves David Silva. While KDB is out he feels like one of the most nailed on players, together with Mendy, Aguero and Laporte.

Who'd he play in midfield if he benched Dsilva? Maybe if he played Foden (which he's mentioned he'd like to do more).. fernandinho is likely to play, however Gundogan had a stinker today and I don't think he'll start.

But hopefully Pep's presser will give us a clue or two (not likely though)

  9. Zilla

Fixtures are good, problem is whether he'll start every game or not. For that reason I am leaning towards Ricardo, or downgrade Holebas to Bennett and have funds for Smalling.

Not a fan of moving a defender off for a hit, but Pickford has been a shocking pick and looks set to drop (surprised he hasn’t already).

There’s a general consensus arsenal are going to do well vs Everton, I somewhat agree, so a potential 1/0 pointer.

Which 5.0/4.5 keeper would you take Pickford out for -4 (if any)? I still have my Wildcard so long term not essential.

    Or would you stick?

Seems like D.Silva and Mendy are unlikely to feature this weekend:

    Patricio
    Alonso | Pereira | AWB | Mendy*
    Hazard | Salah | D.Silva*
    Mitrovic | Wilson | Aguero

    Button | D.Gray | Bennett | Hudson-Odoi

    1FT $0.1itb

    What should I do?
    1) Silva -> Richarlison
    2) Silva -> Maddison
    3) Silva + Gray -> Richarlison + Maddison (-4)

Strange that the post here is a podcast with an absolute legend in FF. Monster scores in the 7-8 years and a well-thought out, defined strategy. No comments.

Yet, an endless stream of RMTs and/or -4/-8 transfer proposals in complete defiance of triggerlips' philosophy.

    That's irony, kids.

I'm not saying I won't, but I've been good about not chasing.

109k and 101.8 TV at the moment.

I've probably sat with Mkhi too long, but at 7.1 now, another price drop doesn't lose me any sell value. Though I am monitoring him and my potential targets for my FT this week.

Exactly. His point about finishing 18k as perhaps harder than some of his better finishes given the info available now v. 5-10 years ago exactly on point. If a manager finishes in the top 1% - top 60k basically - job well done.

Took in Patricio and Hamer on WC. Thinking I need to swap out Hamer right? Leicester fixtures too good to overlook?

No. Just ride Patricio. Excellent keeper in a side which looks midtable. Probably land on 140 points on his own. Save the 0.5 mil.

Either get someone who rotates perfectly with Patricio or stick with hamer

    Mendy,Robbo,Alonso
    Mane,Hazard,Fraser,Moura
    Mitro,Wilson,Kun

    Subs Hamer,WB,Neves,Cook

Any changes needed and who is everyone sticking the Armband on? I’m currently on Mane but tempted by Hazard and Kun. Thanks

I'm on Salah(c), so Mane seems a reasonable choice. Hazard and Aguero are both good choices as well given their opponents. Bit of a crapshoot. Maybe stick with your early instinct.

    Hennessey Hamer
    Alonso Mendy Robbo Holebas 3.9
    Salah Hazard Mané Fraser Knokaert
    Aguerro 4.5 4.5

GTG or maybe downgrade Knockaert to Hojbjerg in order to have a bench (WBA/Bennett & Joselu)??

That awkward moment when you have been playing and watching EPL for over 10 years but can't even pronounce the ARSENAL STRIKER's name

not sure Triggerlips has every played in the EPL and I second the first comment, has the Arsenal Striker been playing in the EPL for 10 years?! if not, how is it relevant to someone that's been playing FPL for 10 years and most likely not an Arsenal supporter?!

It's a very good team. But only you know your old team. Need that to determine if a WC is necessary.

    Hello all

Started off well but last week was very terrible (only 48 pts). This is my current team:

    Ederson/Begovic
    Robbo/Alonso/Mendy/AWB/Ogbonna
    Salah/Mane/Walcott/Ralls/Hughes
    Aguero/Mitrovic/Wilson

I have two free transfers and I am considering the following:

Mendy and Walcott out, Boly and Pogba in

    Any thoughts?

I’d do Walcott > Madison/Richarlison, play AWB and save a FT.

Thanks Pogboom. I do not think Mendy is worth it at this stage because we simply do not know how bad his injury is and how long he will remain out.

Maybe keep Hughes first sub just in case. Always better to save the FT and ship mendy next week if still injured. People don’t want a 6.5m def sitting on the bench 😛

Pogba hasn't impressed in EPL. Penalties is his only bright spot at the moment.

If you down grade a defender, i'd upgrade Ralls or Hughes. Both pretty worthless.

Ralls is pretty worthless, I totally agree. I think Pogba had a pretty good game against Watford but has not been that great in the PL overall.

34 other midfielders have had more touches in the box than Pogba. His heatmap tells a lot too

Should I replace Ings for one GWK or play one of Billing, Bennett or Westwood?

    1. noahzark22
      • 9 Years

I'd have a stronger bench, but hold on to Ings.

All of those are terrible, so Billing

Yeah its probably the best idea given the calibre of the rest of my team. This should be fine to get me enough points without Ings:

        Ederson
        Alonso - Mendy - Robbo - AWB
        Salah - Hazard - Moura
        Aguero - (Ings) - Mitrovic

Yeah, it's a stupid move I guess but I can't stand playing bench fodder
