There are six Premier League matches kicking off at 15:00 BST this afternoon and there is huge relief for the owners of – and those who captained – Mohamed Salah (£13.0m), Sergio Aguero (£11.4m), Roberto Firmino (£9.4m) and Sadio Mane (£10.0m): all four start for their respective clubs.

Aguero was handed the armband by just over 1.5 million Fantasy Premier League bosses for Manchester City’s Gameweek 6 encounter with Cardiff City, while Salah was himself trusted with the captaincy by over a million FPL managers.

Despite being the most popular captaincy choices for the weekend’s matches, both players were among the five most-sold players of this Gameweek: 374,021 FPL bosses lost faith in Salah, while 177,646 of us ditched Aguero.

There was also good news for those who own Luke Shaw (£5.1m), with the United left-back starting ahead of Ashley Young (£5.8m).

However, those who own David Silva (£8.6m) will be disappointed to see the Spanish midfielder relegated to the bench for City’s trip to South Wales.

Fabian Delph (£5.3m) plays at left-back in Benjamin Mendy‘s (£6.4m) absence, while there are also starts for Leroy Sane (£9.2m), Bernardo Silva (£7.5m) and Raheem Sterling (£11.0m).

Xherdan Shaqiri (£7.1m) gets his first Liverpool start alongside Mane, Salah and Firmino, with James Milner (£5.7m) dropping out. Joel Matip (£4.9m) takes Joe Gomez‘s (£5.1m) place at centre-back, meanwhile.

Neil Warnock has changed his full-backs for the visit of Manchester City, while Mark Hughes’ Saints side looks defensive in nature for the trip to Anfield.

Elsewhere, Ricardo Pereira (£5.1m) misses out for Leicester City and Kenedy (£5.0m) returns to the Newcastle United side.

Burnley XI: Hart; Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor; Lennon, Westwood, Cork, Gudmundsson; Vydra, Vokes

Cardiff City XI: Etheridge; Peltier, Morrison, Ecuele Manga, Cunningham; Camarasa, Arter, Ralls, Hoilett; Reid, Ward

Manchester City XI: Ederson; Walker, Laporte, Otamendi, Delph; Gundogan, Fernandinho; Bernardo, Sane, Sterling, Aguero

Crystal Palace XI: Hennessey; Wan-Bissaka, Tomkins, Sakho, Van Aanholt; Kouyate, Milivojevic, McArthur; Townsend, Ayew, Zaha

Newcastle United XI: Dubravka; Yedlin, Lascelles, Fernandez, Dummett; Shelvey, Diame, Ritchie, Kenedy; Perez, Rondon

Leicester City XI: Schmeichel; Chilwell, Evans, Maguire, Amartey; Ghezzal, Mendy, Ndidi, Maddison; Iheanacho, Vardy

Huddersfield Town XI: Lossl; Kongolo, Zanka, Schindler; Durm, Billing, Mooy, Lowe; van La Parra, Kachunga; Depoitre

Liverpool XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Wijnaldum, Henderson, Shaqiri; Salah, Mane, Firmino

Southampton XI: McCarthy; Vestergaard, Hoedt, Bertrand; Soares, Hojbjerg, Romeu, Lemina, Targett; Redmond, Long

Manchester United XI: De Gea; Valencia, Smalling, Lindelof, Shaw; Fellaini, Fred, Pogba; Lingard, Sanchez, Lukaku

Another week were a budget option outscores Aguero and all the talk remains "Salah OUT !!", "Salah isn't worth it"... blah.

At what point does that become a discussion?

There's got to be no doubt that both of those players are going to haul at some point.

1.6m but I get that point too.

I just think that all the mid options, particularly those playing as forwards is where it's at.

Can't compare the two. Each scored a goal, one played 90 other played 60, and is 2 mil cheaper.

        Again 1.6m.

And yes you can. Remind me how many minutes Aguero played the previous week again?

Aguero's going to play less that 53 mins? Geez.

People seem to lose sight on the fact City can rotate in EVERY position.

Each week X, Y or Z is essential. Look at this week, Dilva bandwagon, was never going to get dropped. And then absolutely Pep'd.

Liverpool don't have that luxury. Shaq is great and Salah will miss the odd match but there's no way you can compare like for like squad depth.

Who would you buy over Aguero?

      1. polis
        • 14 Years
        7 years, 7 months ago

Already have, I've taken that money and invested it into midfield to go for a bigger 5 there and have 3 forwards to rotate.

        1. Drexl Spivey
          • 7 Years
          7 years, 7 months ago

So who's in your front line and midfield at the expense of Aguero?

          1. polis
            • 14 Years
            7 years, 7 months ago

            Mane, Salah, Hazard, Maddison, Richarlison
            Mitrovic, Zaha, Ings

Will take all the mockery but last week Ings > Aguero, this week Mitro > Aguero.

Yup, I'll get stung one week when Aguero hauls. Such is life.

            1. Drexl Spivey
              • 7 Years
              7 years, 7 months ago

Fair enough. So assume you bench the cheapest of those each week (Ings), that's at least £1.2m tied up on your bench. Subtract that from Aguero's value, how many strikers could you buy with £10.2m that currently lie 4th overall on the leaderboard?

              1. polis
                • 14 Years
                7 years, 7 months ago

Incorrect. Play the fixtures and odds.

And you're missing the point with that comment. Why the limitation to strikers?

I'd rather Hazard over Aguero over the season (which was the basis of going x3 cheaper up front) and I'd also rather bank some cash and have Alonso over say a 5m defender.

The other point here, as evidenced, is that people equate value as points.

The price of a player is the indication, not a given, so it's all relevant there too.

                  1. Drexl Spivey

                    7 years, 7 months ago

My point is, you have to fill three striker spots, and have to spend that money somewhere. You're quite happy to leave £1.2m on the bench. Take that from Aguero's value, how do you redistribute £10.2m to get the best return from seven players, since you're also happy to invest £13m on a midfielder with six points less?

Glad kept BSilva. Surely rested in Caribou cup and starts for City home to Brighton next weekend.

I like Mitro but Zaha has good fixtures too.

Question for Wilson + AWB owners:

With AWB picking up 2 clean sheets in a row and bonus points in both games, plus the fact that he has attacking threat, and Bournemouth losing 4-0 to Burnley with Wilson being subbed off early, is anyone thinking of starting AWB ahead of Wilson next GW?

No. Football performance isn't linear. If that was the case then how did Burnley keep a CS today and Leeds lose at Birmingham.

It’s not?! Not what you’d think looking at comments on here! 😀

Extrapolate one games performance for the rest of the season 🙂

Form comes into account is what I'm getting at - I'm not saying that Palace will beat Bournemouth just because Burnley beat them. I'm just saying that Wilson hasn't done much in the last 3 games.

It's a thought. Crystal Palace are solid defensively and Bournemouth look like they're returning to old ways.

Hazard and Luiz to go. Hopefully Hazard stays quiet and as nemesis has captained him. I'm feeling a haul from Luiz though.

Alonso, Richarlison and Auba(c) to go here. Hope for a Auba goal at least.

I’m going to jinx it for you but I think ARS-EVE will be a high scoring game, Auba and Rich should do well. Horrible defences.
