It’s that time of the week again when we give Fantasy Premier League managers the chance to put questions to our panel.

If you have a burning query as you prepare for Gameweek 7 then we’re here to help.

We’ve assembled another panel of three Fantasy managers this week and will be bringing you a different set for each Gameweek over the course of the season.

    I’ve watched all the Liverpool games this season up until yesterday. An observation I had made is that Salah simply isn’t playing well. As a fan I’ve been frustrated with him as he seems to be making loads more poor passes (he would be to blame for a 2-2 with PSG if Firmino hadn’t saved the day). He also doesn’t look happy and although he is still getting plenty of chances he is missing them and generally not looking happy. It’s a real concern that his level has dropped given how pivotal he was last season.

    However watching MOTD I noticed a difference. He was playing with a smile on his face, linking well and getting plenty of chances (good chances but he didn’t miss a glaring chance like in previous games). His back heel attempt shows he is still as confident as ever.

    Before yesterday as an FPL owner I really wished I didn’t own him. I honestly thought there was a chance he’d be benched given his midweek performance (just to reiterate his midweek - he was subbed off when Liverpool were searching for a winner, something I don’t think would have happened last season). I was already planning on getting rid for Chelsea, as he didn’t look the same player as last season - one that can win a match on his own and is ‘fixture-proof’. However after seeing the highlights now I’m prepared to keep. Firstly because he can score in any game when in form and secondly because, in last seasons form, he is truly ‘essential’ for games with Huddersfield and Cardiff in GW9/10.

    Tl;dr I think Salah has been playing badly but perhaps turned a corner against Southampton. If you saw the full game, and have been watching Liverpool in general this season, would you say his performance was much better vs Southampton and that he looks back to his best? Or is he still off the pace as he has looked all season?

      if you had been watching Liverpool in general last season (especially the start) then you would say his performances are the same as this time last year (possibly even better) - I was a denier last season, for that reason, but people are expecting way too much this time around.

        I don't think his performances are better than last season. I'm not necessarily saying he's bad from an fpl pov, but the actual level he is playing at seems to have dipped. And comparing to the same time last season doesn't make much sense. A player's performances aren't dependent on the time of year. Yes you could argue that some players are slow starters (Kane) but with Salah it makes more sense to compare his performances to his most recent games (i.e. end of last season).

          He's not any different, just because he hasn't scored a couple more tap-ins (mainly because Mane chose to pass to Firmino instead of him on a few occasions) people are saying his form has dipped - it's a heap of horseshite

            The fact that he got injured, went to the world cup, then had a break is the exact reason why we should compare to most recent performances. These factors may be why his performances (imo) have dipped.

            For example in 2017/18 let's pretend a player had a terrible first half and an amazing second half of the season. At the start of this season would you expect them to be performing terrible or amazing? I'd say amazing.

            I agree his goal output is similar to last season (and could be higher with a few better passes) but I was talking more about the general performance. His hold up play was better last season and he didn't lose the ball as much. Also I'd argue his finishing was better last season. Hopefully this Southampton game is him getting back to his best.

        You must have an incredibly busy schedule, mate, if this was too much for you. I'd advise against reading any Tolstoy.

      Watched the game, and much better performance. Some of that also came down to a little less selfishness by him + mane, so they must have had a talking to. Shaqiri was also a good addition to their game when on. Could have scored another if hadn't tried switching to his better foot, but body language reflected more confidence and improvement.

    What are you doing with Mendy? I went with early move VVD ---> Trippier (because of WC still in my pocket, going with agressive/early transfers). Mendy still in my team.     Would give me:

    Logic is I would hold Mendy for now pending better news on time out and try and get Hazard in for his good run from GW10

        It is a lot of hit but tbf I’ve held off and taken just a single -4 so far and held my WC so it may be due now.

        Do you prefer the first option or the Mendy> Doherty one?

    I'd like to see a hot topic on Wan Bissaka and how an in-form £4.2m defender impacts:

    A) The holy trinity in defence
    B) The structure of your starting and non starting 5 defenders
    C) The formation you play - i.e. Playing 4 or 5 at the back more often.

    As a PVA owner I've been taking a closer look at AWB stats. He offers almost no goal threat but reasonable assist potential and he seems to be a BPS darling because of his CBI and net tackles and not for his baseline bps.

      doesn't really answer your question but I want TAA, Holebas, Jonny, Doherty, AWB - the best 5 defenders in the game 😉 (dodgy in GW11 though)
