Investing heavily in Chelsea and Liverpool has proved a successful strategy for many this season. But with these two title contenders going head to head in Gameweek 7, is this ‘eggs in one basket’ tactic about to come unstuck?

David, Andy and Az join me to discuss the best strategy for dealing with these tricky ties when so many highly owned players are squaring up against each other.

We also consider the merits of bringing in the likes of Everton talisman Richarlison (£6.6m) and Arsenal’s newly sure-starting striker Alexandre Lacazette (£9.4m), as they answer the community’s questions.

Tapping into Spurs’ fine fixture run, and in particular, the improving form of Harry Kane (£12.4m), is also on the bill. But will Andy’s ambitious plan to swoop for the Tottenham forward leave him with egg on his face?

Elsewhere, the Scoutcast crew look at Gameweek 7’s likeliest clean sheets and best low-owned gems, reveal their plans for the next set of matches and laugh and cry at some of the community’s roughest and smoothest recent transfers.

This Scoutcast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

I'm not ruling it out, because if Kane scores a hat-trick this weekend and is in the mood then emergency measures are justified.

Realistically though, I'm planning on using my FT on Ings > Vardy, and think Vardy/Kun scores more than Ings/Kane, possibly next GW but certainly in the long-term.

Finally, the fan in me wants to enjoy an all-out attack, Pool/City goalfest, and that means having at least one City attacker.

GW7 DS, Fixture and clean sheet odds

Last week Liverpool (580DS) came through 3-0 against Southampton while Manchester City (457DS) cruised past Cardiff 0-5. Arsenal (443DS) continued their winning streak by extending it to four with a 2-0 home victory over Everton. Finally Manchester United (375DS) couldn't get past Wolves at Old Trafford and drew 1-1.

GW6 DS accuracy was around: 80%

Last week's stats can be found here:

    GW7 Doosra stats

    WLV: 225
(Doosra gives a more detailed explanation of these numbers here: http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/comment/16458109)

So this week Manchester City lead the way with their 752DS, next come Arsenal (437DS) who are just ahead of Spurs (415DS) and finally just under the radar Manchester United (295DS) bring up the rear with their fixture with West Ham at the London Stadium.

    GW7 clean sheet odds

    Fulham: 6.0 17%
    Huddersfield: 7.0 14%
    Watford: 9.50 11%
    Brighton: 23.0 4%

Last week the top two rated for clean sheets (Man City 64% and Liverpool 55%) came through as expected, but Leicester (53%) who appeared third in the list conceded against "toothless" Huddersfield!

Not a bad week for me, managed 72 points and moved up a place to 19 in the Mods and Cons League. This is (as I expected) the toughest Mini League I've ever been in so let's see how long I can hang on to their coat tails 😆

Tbh, either could win, lose or even draw but as you can see from the stats, Wolves are slight favourites to come away with a victory and appear in third for a clean sheet chance 🙂

Basically the lower the number the "harder" the fixture the higher the number the "easier" the fixture is. So a DS of say -500 means it is highly unlikely for that team to win.
I would say anything above 350DS means it's more likely than not that team would come out victorious.
Does that help at all? Let me know if you need anything else mate will try and help if I can 🙂

Did you read the Doosra explanation?
"I have devised a system, which is on a separate sheet, and which calculates a rating for any team based entirely on their results, position, goals for and goals against. It does not include clean sheets, as I have not yet found a reliable common source that records these in a HOME and away format.

So this system does not differ between the attacking and defensive qualities, perceived or otherwise, of any team, other than that expressed by their position, raw results, and goals scored, and by goals conceded."
            https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/comment/16458109

The numbers are produced using a formula that takes into account past form both home and away in a spreadsheet. All I do is give it the results from the previous week and it produces the results shown above 🙂

No worries Los! Someone on Twitter did a mock team with Hazard, Aguero, Salah and Kane in it. They didn't like it as there was something wrong in their eyes with the balance but it is possible 🙂

Yeah, no point in that if you ask me.
Though if I recall corectly Brighton have only conceded more than 4 to Liverpool last season and they have conceded only 1 to Liverpool away this season. Why are Doosra stats so bad for them and why are they expected to get a smashing?

Because Man City's home form far far outweighs Brighton's away form, and after all it is Man City, they could go large (like last week) in a fixture like this 🙂
