Following the high in Gameweek 5, Eden Hazard was back to his usual self in Gameweek 6, blanking at West Ham.

He scored a brilliant goal against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night, so you know what that means for Saturday’s league fixture against the same opponents. Another blank is on the way!

Is it time to board the Harry Kane train?

Quite a few FPL managers are itching to get Harry Kane in ahead of his next two fixtures: Huddersfield away and Cardiff at home (Wembley). He’s also the standout captaincy option for Gameweek 8 which is the big pull factor.

To get him this week, I’d have to lose Mohamed Salah. With two free transfers, I could switch Mo for Richarlison and get Kane for Callum Wilson which is very tempting, but I’d want Salah back for Gameweek’s 9 and 10 when he faces Huddersfield and Cardiff himself.

Moving to Kane from someone like Aubameyang or Lukaku is a lot easier.

I fancy Salah to deliver against Chelsea and Man City over the next two weeks. I’m leaning towards keeping him and using my transfers elsewhere to improve the overall strength of my squad.

Aleksandar Mitrovic is also high on my Watchlist. He’s outperforming Kane having scored five goals in the opening six matches. The Serbian is also second only to Aguero for goal attempts this season.

Jamie Vardy is another striker worth some consideration. Owned by just 4.1% of managers, Leicester have as good a run of fixtures as any team right up to Christmas. He gets a rest during international breaks and has no European football to worry about.

Maddison (£6.8m) vs Richarlison (£6.6m)

Lots of managers are having to choose between these two ahead of Gameweek 7. Both are excellent FPL options.

Maddison is like a mini-Eriksen (the difference being that he actually scores FPL points this year). He commands set pieces and tends to pick up bonus points when he delivers. He’s got Vardy ahead of him to finish the chances he creates.

Richarlison is the more explosive player. He performed well against Arsenal on his return from suspension registering four goal attempts. I can see him getting at least 15 goals this season.

He’s likely to join Maddison in my midfield by the time Saturday rolls around.

Pep Roulette

David Silva may be the player to make way for the Brazilian. There have been whispers this week that the Spaniard cannot play three games in a week. He played sixty-two minutes against Oxford United in midweek which is worrying for his owners ahead of this weekend’s Brighton tie.
Pep Guardiola’s men then travel to Germany next week to face Hoffenheim in the Champions League and play Liverpool at Anfield in Gameweek 8.

Silva may be wrapped in cotton wool this weekend with those fixtures in mind. Pep can afford to rest him with options such as Bernardo Silva, Ilkay Gündogan, Riyad Mahrez and Leroy Sané all performing well. The City midfield is a minefield.

The Benjamin Mendy situation is a strange one. First, it was his knee, then his ankle, now it’s his metatarsal. Reading between the lines, it’s probably a disciplinary issue. He hasn’t tweeted since Saturday which is unusual for him. If there is no update on his availability by Friday night, he’ll be leaving my squad for Trippier or Doherty.

Good luck to all in Gameweek 7. Enjoy Super Saturday.

They really miss him in midfield.. should be on the bench this week at least with a astart vs arsenal. He is pivotal to their play so will start when fit

Anyone else fear for Agueros minutes this weekend? City can't afford to take anymore risks in Champions league, so I think they might save him for the encounter vs Hoffenheim next week.

Yet im still questioning wether to captain him or Kane

If he actually starts ahead of KWP, he'll be coming off early for him if (when) they're winning, with a view on the Barca game.

      1. Balls of Steel
        • 10 Years
        7 years, 6 months ago

You really are adamant that KWP is gonna impact the game time of Trippier, why are you so sure that Poch will rest or drop KT? Any other of the Spurs players could easily be subbed early for their CL game midweek..

        1. Yoshioka
          • 7 Years
          7 years, 6 months ago

Poch rotates fullbacks, plus he was recently lamenting not being able to give the promising KWP a look in whilst Aurier and Trippier were ahead of him. KWP is inevitably getting minutes in these coming league games - if not from the start then from the bench. But yeah, I'll stop going on about it.

He's not playing 90 at the weekend then 90 against Barca then 90 the following weekend.

I dare say almost every top level pro player could do play three on the bounce... the question is how many prem managers would actually make them do so when they've got decent options in reserve... let alone a serial full back rotating manager.

Anyway, hope I'm wrong because I've brought Trippier in myself. I just don't see the joy at Aurier's injury as he was looking like playing the cup games, leaving the league for Trippier.

                7 years, 6 months ago

I am not sure the point is this. It is how the coach wishes to rotate the squad and Poch has history. Nobody can truly predict how he lines up the team for each game . The most likely scenario is that a Trippier starts against Barca . Who knows regarding the other 2 games ?

                1. Yoshioka
                  • 7 Years
                  7 years, 6 months ago

Pretty much this. Of course players can play game after game after game if there's no alternative, but promising players like KWP are in squads precisely so this doesn't have to happen. And if he can't get minutes against HUD and CAR when there's been an injury in his position, he'll never play.

All we know for certain is that Trippier will surely play against Barca and that Poch is comfortably the most notorious full back rotating manager in the league. People can figure out the rest for themselves.

After a bit of a mad one in Berlin over the weekend including a trip to Wolfsburg to take in some Bundesliga (and an almost scary time at 4th tier Hertha v Dynamo) it's time to get back to some FPL and try maintain (or improve on) my position.

King could be kept... Has a tasty fixture.

Just ditch Eriksen and roll your other FT.

          🙂

thanks. I guess Maddison is the best choice.
People not recommend the City midfielders. Why?

              Rotation.
              Some tough fixtures soon.

Maddison’s nailed on + in form + good fixtures.

Trippier might be rested vs Cardiff imo.

              Will see.

              Cheers

Spurs can't rest Trippier if Eriksen and / or Aurier are out.

You are really clinging to slim thread here, there is absolutely no way Tripps will be rested vs Cardiff since he didnt play yesterday & Aurier injury. I assume you dont have him so..

Ffs, finally get some points out of Ramsey and now he could easily be frozen out

He has better chamce of getting injured faster than frozen out. Never understood love for injury loving Ramsey even with people who have weak bench

Well how about all those points he gets when he's not injured? That's justification enough I feel.

Cos he's not signing a new deal. Fans have been calling for him to be dropped anyway and now this.

Oh you mean he was never gonna sign anyway? Well I don't know about that but surely if they knew he wasn't gonna sign they'd have tried to sell him. Arsenal the only club where this happens regularly, mind you

He had 3 shots, two of them were bad. But the Rich brigade sees what they want to see. They dont care about bad stats, that he plays in an awful team or that he seriously overperformed before his red card.

Go safe with Number 1 here or take a risk on 2 or 3?
    1. Wally-> Rich + save the other ft to see how Spurs go. (Safe option).
    2. Wally + Mane -> Rich + Alli. (Bit of a gamble but maybe worth it).
    3. Salah + Ings-> Rich + Kane. (All out attack but would leave my mids vulnerable for now).

    Patricio.
    Trippier, Alonso, Robertson.
    Mane, Walcott, Salah, Bilva.
    Aguero, Mitrovic, Ings.

    Foster, Wan- Bissaka, Peltier, CHO.
2 ft, 0.5m in the bank. Still have my WC so maybe a risk or two may be ok?

    (Or play Doherty)

    (B) Lingard - Richarlison
