Following the high in Gameweek 5, Eden Hazard was back to his usual self in Gameweek 6, blanking at West Ham.

He scored a brilliant goal against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night, so you know what that means for Saturday’s league fixture against the same opponents. Another blank is on the way!

Is it time to board the Harry Kane train?

Quite a few FPL managers are itching to get Harry Kane in ahead of his next two fixtures: Huddersfield away and Cardiff at home (Wembley). He’s also the standout captaincy option for Gameweek 8 which is the big pull factor.

To get him this week, I’d have to lose Mohamed Salah. With two free transfers, I could switch Mo for Richarlison and get Kane for Callum Wilson which is very tempting, but I’d want Salah back for Gameweek’s 9 and 10 when he faces Huddersfield and Cardiff himself.

Moving to Kane from someone like Aubameyang or Lukaku is a lot easier.

I fancy Salah to deliver against Chelsea and Man City over the next two weeks. I’m leaning towards keeping him and using my transfers elsewhere to improve the overall strength of my squad.

Aleksandar Mitrovic is also high on my Watchlist. He’s outperforming Kane having scored five goals in the opening six matches. The Serbian is also second only to Aguero for goal attempts this season.

Jamie Vardy is another striker worth some consideration. Owned by just 4.1% of managers, Leicester have as good a run of fixtures as any team right up to Christmas. He gets a rest during international breaks and has no European football to worry about.

Maddison (£6.8m) vs Richarlison (£6.6m)

Lots of managers are having to choose between these two ahead of Gameweek 7. Both are excellent FPL options.

Maddison is like a mini-Eriksen (the difference being that he actually scores FPL points this year). He commands set pieces and tends to pick up bonus points when he delivers. He’s got Vardy ahead of him to finish the chances he creates.

Richarlison is the more explosive player. He performed well against Arsenal on his return from suspension registering four goal attempts. I can see him getting at least 15 goals this season.

He’s likely to join Maddison in my midfield by the time Saturday rolls around.

Pep Roulette

David Silva may be the player to make way for the Brazilian. There have been whispers this week that the Spaniard cannot play three games in a week. He played sixty-two minutes against Oxford United in midweek which is worrying for his owners ahead of this weekend’s Brighton tie.
Pep Guardiola’s men then travel to Germany next week to face Hoffenheim in the Champions League and play Liverpool at Anfield in Gameweek 8.

Silva may be wrapped in cotton wool this weekend with those fixtures in mind. Pep can afford to rest him with options such as Bernardo Silva, Ilkay Gündogan, Riyad Mahrez and Leroy Sané all performing well. The City midfield is a minefield.

The Benjamin Mendy situation is a strange one. First, it was his knee, then his ankle, now it’s his metatarsal. Reading between the lines, it’s probably a disciplinary issue. He hasn’t tweeted since Saturday which is unusual for him. If there is no update on his availability by Friday night, he’ll be leaving my squad for Trippier or Doherty.

Good luck to all in Gameweek 7. Enjoy Super Saturday.

So Pochettino always rotates his full backs? Let look back to this time last season, Rose was injured so Davies was main left back (vert as backup). Davies played 90mins on 23rd sept away to West Ham, 90mins away to APOEL in champs league on 26th sept and 90mins away to Huddersfield on 30th sept before an international break. Looks familiar?

      KWP to play against Hudds
Trippier to play against Barcelona and Cardiff

Trippier should play at Hudd, what with Eriksen out they need him on all set pieces

Davies and Rose were the only competition.

Have you seen KWP play ? He's more than ample competition.

I don't own him and I think he starts next game. To ignore KWP isn't wise , I expect Tripps to get more game time than he would have though

After trippier not even on bench midweek he will need him sharp for Barcelona match. Eriksen no show strengthens Trippier start as no great alternative to take setpieces

I brought Trippier in this week and I'm gutted about the Aurier injury because he's looking like losing minutes to the excellent young KWP now. Poch does undeniably love to rotate full backs and Davies had no competition back then, but KWP is read and has been champing at the bit. I expect Trippier to miss at least one of the next three, and KWP isn't playing against Barca...

    Gudmundsson or Son?

Mit seem obvious but Burnley’s next two are good and Son is a rotation risk.

Play Foster. Dont chase points. Neither is likely to get CS but can see Foster get lots of save points.

I'd save and play one of PVA or AWB over Mendy. You have a deep enough bench to wait

As much as I have criticised FFS for the articles lack of personality after Marks departure, I would like to say a big kudos for this opinion article written by a man with a good track record!
More of this, it is what made FFS a good site to begin with, the opinions of a succesful manager

              Thoughts on my Wildcard?
              Hart, Bettinelli
              Alonso, Trippier, Doherty, Taylor, WB
              Hazard, Mane, Fraser, Knockhaert, Ward
              Aguero, Kane, Mitro

              I'm debating Mane>Richarlson, Taylor>TAA
Which leaves me 2.4ITB to get Salah back for GW9.

Close one. Walker slightly more nailed and better chance of cs, but Trippier offers more attacking points.

So confused about whether (and when) to get kane...2FT and 0m itb and plan to WC in gw10 so looking at next 3gw's only

              Patricio -- Foster
              Alonson • Shaw • Mendy -- Robbo • AWB
              Salah • Dilva • Maddison • Pedro -- Stephens
              Kun • Zaha • King

              A: Mendy + Pedro >> Trippier + Rich...sensible move. (perhaps do salah > hazard(c) in gw8)
B: Mendy + Pedro >> Doherty + Rich. and leave money itb to do Kun >> Kane (c) in gw8
              C: Mendy + Pedro + Zaha >> Bennett + Fraser + Laca (-4)...(salah > hazard in gw8 for cpt)
              D: Mendy + Salah + Zaha >> Trippier + Rich + Kane (-4)
              E: Pedro + Salah + Zaha >> Ramsey + Rich + Kane (-4)

My plan was always to WC in GW9, so it made sense to do the following:

              Salah + Arnie > Kane + Richarlison for a -4

Ill bring Salah and Arnie straight back in, but i think Kane could net atleast 3 over the next 2 games, particularly Cardiff home.

What are you doing with Dilva?
I have 1ft and no big problems but save might be ok but a little worried about 1 pointer from Dilva 30 minutes?
