The four outfield Bournemouth and Crystal Palace players who are owned by more than 10% of Fantasy Premier League managers – Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£4.3m), Wilfried Zaha (£7.0m), Ryan Fraser (£5.9m) and Callum Wilson (£6.9m) – all start at the Vitality Stadium this evening, with no huge surprises in either line-up.

Palace’s only change sees Max Meyer (£5.7m) make his first league start of the season at the expense of Cheikhou Kouyate (£4.8m).

Meyer’s creativity in the centre of the park might well be needed to unpick the Cherries’ defence, who have conceded only three big chances on home soil this season – though Eddie Howe’s side did ship four goals at Burnley last weekend.

Howe, meanwhile, has made two changes to his starting XI, with Simon Francis (£4.4m) and Lewis Cook (£4.8m) replacing Diego Rico (£4.5m) and Andrew Surman (£4.8m).

Rico had been a doubt for this match with a hamstring injury, though is fit enough to take his place among the Bournemouth substitutes.

Francis will be presumably be playing at right-back, with Adam Smith (£4.5m) filling in for Rico at left-back: both players played in those positions last Tuesday in the Carabao Cup tie against Blackburn Rovers.

Surman drops to the bench and is joined there by the fit-again Dan Gosling (£4.9m), who has recovered from a calf complaint.

The creative Lewis Cook’s selection again might be an acknowledgement of their opposition’s resilience, with Palace having kept clean sheets in two of their three away fixtures so far this season and having conceded only two big chances to their opposition in those matches on the road.

Wan-Bissaka is owned by more than 30% of all Fantasy managers, but as well as being the most-purchased defender of Gameweek 7 is also the most-benched outfielder of this round of fixtures: 30.9% of his owners started this weekend without the budget defender in their first XI.

Zaha, meanwhile, has scored in every league fixture away from Selhurst Park this season.

No player for any Premier League club has created as many big chances as Fraser in 2018/19, with four of the Scottish winger’s five goal involvements coming on home soil.

Wilson hasn’t scored since Gameweek 2, though has chipped in with three assists since his last league goal.

Bournemouth XI (4-4-2): Begovic; A. Smith, S. Cook, Ake, Francis; Brooks, L. Cook, Lerma, Fraser; Wilson, King

Crystal Palace XI (4-3-3): Hennessey; Wan-Bissaka, Tomkins, Sakho, Van Aanholt; Meyer, Milivojevic, McArthur; Zaha, Townsend, Ayew

I have had him from the beginning. Wasn't happy at the beginning, but now seems to be good option. And he actually is a good gk. Has both cs and save point potential and gets even baps. I think he will haul again.

    Ederson (Hamer)
    Alonso, Robertson, PVA (AWB, Mendy*)
    Hazard, Mané, Richarlison, Fraser (Cairney)
    Aguero, Mitrovic, Ings

Bit slow to react this week but still have exact money for a WC to something like this:

    Patricio (Fabianski)
    Alonso, Trippier, Doherty (AWB, TAA)
    Hazard, Maddison, Richarlison, Fraser (Hojbjerg/Billing)
    Kane, Aguero, Mitrovic/Arnautovic

Couldn't wait for today and the Bou game only to get one point from Fraser and a drop from 3 to 4k. Frustrating he was on track for bonus untill a yellow card in 95th minute. Sadness and emptiness, that's what I'm feeling right now.

Should turn to next gw, how is this looking and could it be another 80+ week?

Ederson (still thinking if I should get Hart for him)
    Trippier, WB, Alonso
    Hazard, Richarlison, Maddison, Fraser
    Mitrovic, Aguero, Kane(c)

Average (also top10k) teams had two players today. I had also Wilson and he missed that big chance Fraser created. For that you cannot blame Fraser. Buy, yes he was idiot in the end.

Think i’d look at Fabianski(get ahead of the curve, cause WestHam have an epic Fixture-Run in a couple GW’s), Patricio or Hart if I was gonna swap Ederson w/ a 4.5 Keeper

Don't really trust their defence atm, they always look like they will concede. Fixtures are great, but will wait for some clean sheets before I go wirh Fab. I believe more in Burnley getting back where they always were, strong at the back with many css. If I get Hart they play Hudd next game and then his old club. So he could be gold but also Patricio, but he has 'easy' games in which tbh I think ge will concede. Really tough choice.

so much luck in this game. My PVA beat all the popular Bou assets combined thanks to a dodgy lino, lack of VAR, a missed Wilson sitter and a timely sub.
I think ive been pretty skilful in deciding to avoid kane in gw8 but whether it works will be down to pure luck

    1. That Was Easy!
      • 11 Years

Kane hauling against the worst team in the league by some margin has nothing to do with luck, however avoiding him could very well work out over the next 6-8 GWs.

But yes, I think there is too much variance in this game given so few ways to score points. Lends to luck often. 31 points for me this week, 5.2m GW rank.

what i mean is ive assesed the options and concluded the surgery required isn't worth it. Not expecting a blank obvs but i do think the match being straight after Barca is helpful to non owners

Free hit time is surely during one of those rare weeks where there are only 4 or so fixtures? The players who use their free hit during that week are at a MASSIVE points advantage over those who've already spunked it up the wall.

They weren’t last year. Blank hardly brought huge scores. If you captained Salah that week you did well. I had 7/8 players and scored well above the average. Could be different this year, most likely will be.

It’s more a yes than a no for me right now. Midweek games could have an impact.

I have 3 City (double defense), 3 Liverpool, no Spurs and no Hazard.

An abysmal week of 31 points and 5.2M gameweek rank for me this week. Pitiful luck.

Kane is a man who'd trade his daughter for a goal... he's gonna play every minute he can against Cardiff, and I reckon Poch will take the decision to let him fill his boots and play himself into some form. Tottenham will also have almost all of the ball, so I don't expect it to be a grueling fixture for Kane even after a midweek match.

Later in the season I'd agree with you, but he's goal obsessed and will be licking his lips for the Cardiff match - he's barely got going yet. And I kind of see the opposite to a dip happening... either he does well against Barca and he's buzzing and takes that confidence into the Cardiff match, or he doesn't get a sniff on Wednesday and poor Cardiff bear the brunt of his backlash from that.

All very much biased thinking really isn't it though? Kane scored two against Huds yes, but Spurs are really not in any great Form, and Cardiff fighting for their life at the moment, could very well just put a wall up for that game.

I'm not being biased I don't think - just saying it how I see it. I'm not an owner or a Spurs fan. I fully expect a Cardiff wall too... I just don't fancy it to hold for too long. We're all guessing here and every player is capable of blanking.

Spurs need to and will get going at some point. I just fancy it to be this game. Even their lesser support options like Lamela and Lucas are capable of providing service and running riot. As a Liverpool fan, I'd actually love to be wrong.

Anyone thinking of Mitrovic for a differential (C) option this week? Despite Arsenal's 2 CS, they have conceded the 5th amount of shots (on target) and have also conceded the 2nd amount of crosses from right flank and chances from the right flank. Just from the eye test they don't look very good defensively and Cardiff's match was a good example of that.

Mitrovic ofc is a great in the air too so he could well benefit from their inability to defend set pieces as well as their inability to defend from the right flank.

Ofc I am only considering this if I don't get Kane in but for me it's between him and Hazard.

It’s a nice thought, but it’s not a risk worth taking. I went Richarlison over Aguero this week, which in the end could’ve been great given Everton’s 3 goals and Kun’s last minute goal, but decisions like this always seem to bite.

      1. F_Ivanovic

Like I said I'm only considering because there isn't a stand-out captain option this week if you don't own Kane (and don't want to bring him in) - last week Aguero was stand out so I wouldn't have fancied the risk even though it could have paid off, but this week I'm just not thinking there's much risk in it.

To me, a captain is a player who I feel I can almost take for granted will score or at least assist - and one who I'd be very pleased if he scored AND assisted or bagged a brace. I feel like if I'd captain Mitrovic, it'd be a pure punt and I would be really pleased if he just scored or assisted against Arsenal.

I guess this is just a longwinded way of saying no, I don't reckon he's a great option. I reckon you'd be pleased enough if he just bagged one as your second or third striker, but you wouldn't be gutted or at all surprised if he blanked.

That Liverpool defence is brilliant, such a transformation. And sure, VVD and Alison were world record fees - but when you factor in the fact that TAA cost nothing and Gomez and Robbo were bought for fees that the top League One teams could probably afford, it averages out to a complete overhaul for a very reasonable price by modern standards.

Why do you think there has a template from the get go in FPL this season and hence why more people than usual on here are doing so well, is it down FPL nailing pricing this year and therefore the template was easier to create in the first place, or is it down to other fixtures such as teams we expect to do well following suit and therefore there has been less of a need to change of veer away from the template

I agree, there’s a load of great options and a number of ways to be doing well

Have to agree with the others here...
Most importantly, because the pre-season Template is VERY different from the current one—which is far from being as universally-accepted as they have been in the past(remember that late-season WC Team w/ Walcott last year?)
Plus, besides a few exceptions so far, most of the ‘Template Players’ have actually let the followers down, imo this season.

Aguero > Kane, or Bilva > Hazard? Or both for -4?

    Trippier WB Alonso (Doherty, Bennett)
    Hazard Mane Salah Fraser (Hojbjerg)
    Aguero Mitrovic Wilson

If you’re going to the match, u know you’re gonna want at least 2 pool assets in your fpl squad!..lol
*I would start Doherty over AWB tho however*
