Harry Kane (£12.5m) is already the runaway leader of our Gameweek 8 captain poll, but do those currently not in possession of the Spurs forward need to sign him?

That is the big question on the minds of many Fantasy Premier League managers this week, especially with Liverpool and Manchester City options potentially cancelling each other out.

We’ve gone over some of Kane’s numbers from the first seven Gameweeks and compared them with how he was faring 12 months ago, to see if it’s worth selling the likes of Sergio Aguero (£11.4m) or Mohamed Salah (£13.0m) to get him in.

Depends who you are playing ahead of him, I’m starting him over AWB as pool have such a good defence at home and he was unlucky not to get an assist against Chelsea.

Leicester's Pereira potentially OOP on the right wing is the alternative. Risky but could haul.

Completely depends who you are playing instead of him. Objectively I wouldn’t as he often gets involved in the most attacking games and this is the no.1 fixture for that.

I’d only consider benching him if you have a fairly secure cleanie shout from someone else

You don't bench a 6m defender, if you do you shouldn't have him..

      1. Brosstan

Why is this exclusive to 6.0 defenders? People bench midfielders around 6.0 all the time.

        1. bigbudgie
          • 11 Years
          7 years, 5 months ago

          Just my opinion BTW
          6.0+ defenders are 'premium' players
          6.0 mids are not

        2. HamezMace
          • 11 Years

Because 6m implies premium status, no one benches premium mids/forwards

when the lord speaks, I listen

But I'm still not benching Robbo.

Poor logic here, I benched Alonso and Robertson last week for Doherty and Bennett, price shouldn’t be the reason to play one player over another

I think benching him for this one is an easy decision. There have been an average of over 3 goals scored in their last meetings since Klopp and Pep took over at these clubs.

And I don't think anyone is interested in a draw in this game.

Liverpool do have a good record against Pep's City though and have strengthened defensively. Still, I think both managers are well aware that this is a huge game that could go on to decide the title.

That's tough, Wolves/Palace is a difficult one to predict, could easily be 0-0 or 2-2.
Personally I'm starting with Wan Bis, and Boly as first sub.
Also starting Shaw (NEW) and Holebas (BOU) Benching TAA.

In your shoes I'd probably bench Bennett and AWB

Exactly the same thoughts here. AWB could get anything from 12 to 0 this week (as every week).

Thanks!! Do you reckon it's maverick or stupid to bench Robbo and go: AWB, Pereira, Alonso?

It's certainly not stupid to bench him, you've got to assume City will score, but for 6m you're hoping for attacking returns as well.
              I'm benching TAA for AWB.

I've got 2FT and 0.5 itb, but clueless as to what transfers to make if at all... Any ideas?

    Patricio
    Alonso, Trippier, Wan-Bissaka
    Hazard, Mane, DSilva, Maddison
    Aguero, Mitrovic, Wilson

    (Hamer, Robertson, Holebas, Billing)

Holebas to TAA with Liverpool's fixtures after City in mind?

Probably not tbh. That team looks ready.

Hart has to go from GW9, he's had a good run

Was all set for Ryan, but with Cech being out for a while I'm sniffing around Leno

Too risky a punt, or worth a shot ?

Cech is only out for a month, so could be back for GW11. So you'd have Leno for games against LEI, and pal, Arsenal aren't great defensively, so probably not worth it for me.

I've got Leno in as a punt on WC this week.. Think he's worth the risk, two clean sheets in the last 2 for Arsenal and decent upcoming fixtures.

Every chance he stays first choice now even when Cech is back.

Dubravka worth a shout whit his run if you're looking at over 4.5

Leno is a better keeper and might even keep the spot post-injury if he plays well.

But Arsenal are woeful, so buyers beware.

Save for 2FT in international break? 0.2 ITB

    Ryan
    Alonso Mendy Robbo
    Salah Hazard Richarlison Fraser
    Aguero Mitrovic Zaha

    Button AWB Bennett Hojbjerg

Looks great mate. I'd save for 2ft over the break. Who Is your cap this week?

On Hazard mate. I’m tempted to do Kun > Vardy (c) but think I should hold the best looking forward option, despite the tough fixture

      Almost exactly my team.

      I have 2FT.

As of now its either Zaha to Arnie this week, and 2FT IB.

      or

Aguero, Zaha to Kane ande Jiminez.

      Cant decide

Zaha could do well against the Wolves wing backs.. Still a slight injury risk for Arnie as well; I’m waiting a week or two on Zaha > Arnie

My head is wrecked as have no decent (c) option this week and only 1 FT.

Own Salah Mane and Aguero who all play each other and do not own Kane or Hazard who look like the best (c) option this week.

Have a WC in the bank so could just take a hit this week and WC over the Int break.

Any thoughts for a non-Kane/Hazard owner?

0.0m ITB, to get Kane in requires a -4. Hazard could come in for Salah as a FT

I WC'd to get Kane/Hazard in despite quite liking my team and only changing about 5 players..

Not sure it was the right choice.. 😐

If I WC i'll be in the same boat. Just don't think it is worth it now with the Int break coming. Best of luck to you though 😉

Ederson because he plays for Man City.

    B) Sane to Hazard (C) (Think i need to get Hazard in long term, saves WC for later i think)

    Team:
    Foster
    Alonso TAA WB
    Sterling Sane Rich Maddison
    Aguero Firmino Mitrovic

    Hello guys,

    My team:
    Henessey (hamer)
Trippier - Alonso -AWB ( Doherty - Peltier)
    D.Silva - Mane - Hazard - Madison- Richarlison
    Zaha - Aguero (Wilson)
    itb 0.3 F.T
    1 FT.

    Suggestions for GW8?
Is it worth it to do 3 transfers to bring in Kane (and keep Aguero)?
    Any help would be appreciated

        Not sure.
        Maybe:
Mane, Zaha --> Højbjerg, Kane (-4pt)
or Dilva, Madison, Zaha --> Billling, Neves, Kane (-8pts)
        ?
