Aside from all the talk about Harry Kane, there are still several differential options available in Gameweek 8.

We’ve picked out three more players owned by less than 5% of Fantasy Premier League managers who can help propel you up the overall rankings.

This week we are turning to assets at Leicester City, Wolves and Manchester United.

Jamie Vardy (£8.9m)

Ownership: 4.8%

A Gameweek 2 sending off and the success of James Maddison (£6.9m) has hit Jamie Vardy‘s (£8.9m) ownership hard in the early part of 2018/19. But the Leicester City man is still a great option to own for Gameweek 8.

In the last four Gameweeks, only four players have registered more shots on target than Vardy. He also ranks joint-third for shots inside the box and is still on penalties for Leicester City.

His next opponents are an Everton side still with just one clean sheet to their name in 2018/19. Vardy is especially fond of the Toffees having scored four times and assisted twice in his last five Premier League matches against them. In that run, he has won two penalties, scoring two himself.

Vardy looks like a good option for long-term investment too with Arsenal (away), West Ham (home), Cardiff (away), Burnley (home) and Brighton (away) also coming up in the next six Gameweeks.

Adama Traoré (£5.5m)

Ownership: 0.6%

Adama Traoré (£5.5m) may not have started a match for Wolves yet, but he is certainly pushing for one. The rapid winger has promised attacking returns if he can get some more minutes on the pitch.

In the last four Gameweeks, Traore has managed five shots on target, the same as Sergio Aguero (£11.4m) and Mohamed Salah (£12.9m). He has achieved that in a fraction of the minutes, registering just 105 to Aguero’s 271 and Salah’s 317.

Wolves go to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace in Gameweek 8 and look like they will have plenty of opportunities to score. Only two sides have allowed more chances considered to be ‘big’ by Opta in home matches than Palace this season.

Chris Smalling (£5.8m)

Ownership: 2.2%

Any Manchester United player is going to be considered a differential for Gameweek 8 after their surprise defeat to West Ham last week.

However, the nature of their upcoming fixture demands some attention from Fantasy managers.

Newcastle United come to Old Trafford with just one away goal to their name this season. Furthermore, they have the lowest shot tally on the road in 2018/19 and are in the bottom efforts on target too.

A clean sheet looks on for Chris Smalling (£5.8m) and his United colleagues, and the centre-back promises some attacking threat too.

The Magpies are in the bottom three for set play attempts allowed away from home so far this season, and Smalling has already found the net once in 2018/19.

If you still have Mkhi surely he's worth keeping one more week considering he didn't travel yesterday?

If you still have mkhi you should do one of two:
      A sell Mkhi
      B close the fpl account

Aaaaaah no, Ramsey was stalling on a new deal, and when he finally agreed, Emery withdrew it.
When he was subbed out last game, they didn't shake hands.

If you still have him then I'd say yes, keep him. Ramsey and his wife are expecting twins which are due any day now (If they come match day you'd think he might miss it entirely)

but mainly because Ramsey has looked poor lately and was unhappy when hooked around the hour mark last game. That in combination with the fact that he's leaving the club I think makes it very likely that he'll be dropped (Emery is building a team, and he's of course going to be less interested to do it around somebody who might leave as early as in a few months time). Emery could opt for Iwobi instead of Mkhi but since he played in Azerbadjan yesterday I'd expect Mkhi to get the nod this GW (IF ramsey doesn't start).

      good luck!

No one is safe really. Pep loves to do Pep things.

I hate owning City players waiting for the team sheets to come out and wondering if the manager will select the best players in the team this week!

Stering has already been rested once this season, Mahrez/Sane could easily start ahead of him on any given day.

They've played Southampton, Pool and Newcastle at home. Only one of those games is easy.

They've played Huddersfield, Fulham, Waltford and Bournemouth away. Scoring against any of those isn't a big achievement.

    Robertson Trippier WanB (Bennett Bednarek)

    My dilemma in a nutshell:

A save transfer, next week do mane and mendy to Salah(c) and TAA
B billing to Madison, bench Fraser away to watford, next week keep mane just do mendy to TAA and hope mane covers salah...

    1. Demel

Keep it simple. A looks best to me. With the caveat that Mendy may be back and I want to bring him in as soon as he is back. I wouldn't sell him if he is back.

I agree Maddison looks good, but is he really that good?
i may be wrong but I still prefer Richarlison or fraser i'd say and arnie and mitro (similar price), plus I have Vardy.

Why do people rave about him?

      You'd prefer Fraser? Really?

    3. PrettyDick

In my eyes he's a great player, however I agree that as an FPL asset he isn't *as* great. His points have come from a penalty he never would've taken if Vardy hadn't been subbed (due to a Morgan red card), an awkward touch vs Liverpool (a game where he didn't create anything else) and set pieces.

However, within that lies his strength as an fpl player. He's on set plays. Corners could generate assists (as they did in the last game) and free kicks could get him goals (as it did two GWs ago). They also have great fixtures. So if you want to put 6.9 on somebody's set pieces, go for it! (could very well pay off), but if you're looking for more I agree with you that it's more likely you'll get it from Richarlison or Fraser.

I'd say that Maddison and Hughes are quite similar in their likelihood of getting into pointscoring situations.

    4. HamezMace
      • 11 Years
      7 years, 6 months ago

Purely from a footballing perspective he's a very technical player, great first touch and positional awareness.

From an FPL one, he's on set pieces, gets steady returns without doing anything spectacular, and passes the all important eye test.
