This latest members’ article looks at the performances of the top-flight clubs this season from an underlying statistics point of view.

The aim is to pinpoint which areas all of the Premier League teams are strong in, as well as highlighting any weaknesses that the key performance indicators might betray.

Each statistic is ranked in relation to the other Premier League sides, with 1st being the best and 20th the worst. For example, Manchester City are marked as 1st for expected goals conceded (xGC) as this is the lowest figure in the whole of the division.

We have also calculated the 20 clubs’ average FPL fixture difficulties (where 2.00 is the easiest fixture and 5.00 is the toughest, according to the ratings given in the game itself) from Gameweeks 1-8 in order to give some context – and mitigation where needed – as to the rankings.

Could get this on WC tonight before Wilson likely price rise. What are thoughts on this as squad going forward?

    Allison
    Doherty Robertson Alonso Mendy
    Hazard Salah Richarlison
    Aguero Mitrovic Wilson

    Button Knockaert Hojbjerg AWB

I don't think there will be any price rises until people focus back on BPL after the England game.

I'd probably WC to exactly that, fwiw. Fraser v Alonso the big call.

Any improvements for this WC team which gives 0.0ITB and to alternate between 4-3-3 and 3-4-3?

    Patricio 4.0
Robertson Alonso Mendy Doherty Wan Bissaka
    Hazard Salah Richarlison Knockaert Hojbjerg
    Aguero Arnie Wilson

Alternatives for Wilson (6.3) are Murray (6.5) and Mitrovic (6.9) - which player would you downgrade for them?

Alternating between 4-3-3 and 3-4-3 based on fixtures.

    Thanks

One of the best I've seen. That's solid.

Although would consider Alonso > TAA, Knockaert > Maddison

Very good and very similar to mine -see above. I like Mitrovic for next 3 fixtures over Arnautovic and Fabianski over Patricio as Wolves have some tough fixtures ahead.

Nice team. I would leave it being in your shoes.

Tbf in my case your team leaves me 1.2 ITB so i would downgrade Robbo and Alonso to TAA and Luiz and Richarlison to KDB

    Alison Pat

One plays for Bighton, one plays for Southampton. Both are rubbish. Would only cover Brighton defence with Ryan. Jimenez much better prospect over Ings

Spurs fixtures not great until December, and haven't been impressed with them anyway. He will be a rotation risk soon as well with players coming back from injury.

GTG - looks similar to mine after my expected moves over the int'l break, but I have a little more in GK (Ederson) and a little less in Def (TAA instead of Robbo). Hopefully we're set up well for the next few weeks of fixtures... I like to think so!

    Hey DZ,

Really having a hard time deciding which of Arnie and Mitro to go for long term.
Mitro got some very nice stats and good upcoming fixtures, but I really rate Arnie as an option as well and have always pencilled him back in my team for WC incredible run.
I have to move soon to avoid being priced out of Arnie at least.
Who do rate the most and why?
    Thanks !!

Mitro is the better option for the next 3 as the fixtures are great. Arnie for long term as his fixtures are good for rest of the year, and he has better players around him.

Yeah this is what makes it so difficult. I’m pretty happy with my team and got 2 FTs, so I might have the FT to spare to get Mitro and get Arnie in a couple of GW’s - but I’m just not sure it is worth it.
        Thanks

That is what I would do, if you can't get both, get Mitro in for the next 3 then transfer to Arnie for long term. City game their only bad fixture until new year i think after Spurs.

    2. Jay_
      7 years, 9 months ago

Carroll and Chica both back after break. Doubt they affect Arnie starts but minutes for sure and position, maybe.

        You go for?

        1. Jay_
          7 years, 9 months ago

I'd go Mitro. Will always be the talisman where Arnie may not and carrying an injury too (playing through pain). Mitro just feels more safer imo.

Nice team. I think you just mean the benching decision because you have both Madd and Fraser, right? I would monitor Fraser's hamstring tweak, but I'm keeping him in my lineup for now. Nice to be able to rotate those two depending on fixture.

I have Hamer as my backup GK too - don't plan to ever play him unless Ederson goes out hurt, but wish he had taken the starting job back from Lossl after injury instead of being a nonplaying GK... just for insurance purposes.

Thanks. I think the case with Fraser is similar to last IB (hope it will end same way - talking about points). I'm not a huge fan of benching players with set pieces, but it just seems to be right move.

It could easily be good but we all know it could backfire badly too.
I probably would take the risk, just for the fact that it banks some cash and Dilva could see reduced minutes with the return of KDB.

    3. Jay_

That's a rock solid team. Not sure you need to touch it yet tbh. Or even at all. I know 2 FT, one is needed to be spent at least but you're in such a strong position right now, I think I'd hold for now. Don't weaken your position. I made 2 early moves and feel vulnerable, so maybe that's my vulnerability speaking.

If you have a FT to burn this week, you could do Dilva to Rich/Madd. Or you could think about downgrading Ederson (who I like) to a solid 4.5/4.6 GK get enough cash itb to move Dilva to KDB in another week or two once we know how KDB looks when he's back. That would make for a pretty amazing attacking seven you'd have - arguably with five "big hitters" among your midfield/strikers.

I feel like Vardy can be covered by Maddison, but Laca doesn't have an equivalent cover.

Gw10 I'm gonna need funds for Sane > Salah (planned for another drop that's not looking like happening). Reckon Alonso to Mendy/Robbo -4, this week is worth it?

      No I wouldn’t say he’s nailed, but he’s favourite.

Nope but unless there's been a Mendy type discipline problem, you'd fancy him to start most games upcoming.

I will upgrade Schelotto when I use my WC. Neves too has been disappointing but he could still do a little better until then too imo and is at least a nailed on starter should a mid be rotated.

How certain can we be that Mendy will start each week?

We are not. Sané in good form and they don't work as well when they boh play so he can suffer rotation.

We can’t that’s the problem. But if you have decent bench fodder it doesn’t matter does it ?

Pretty certain. Sane or not, Mendy is their best (their only, even) left-back.

Mendy is nailed. Sane has nothing to do with it.. but them playing together is dependant on formation: is If city play 3 or 4 at the back. Mendy plays left back irrespective of this

Lots. They are getting better under Sarri. He’s only been there for 3 months ! Klopp and Guardiola for 3 years+ ! One of each of the big 3 plus Doherty will surfice long term.

I personally wouldn't be surprised by a clean sheet Vs United.
I personally would have United, Burnley and Everton as clean sheets probables.
Fancy Spurs, Fulham and Palace to score though.

The amount of cleansheets is always less than you would think.
Even the best defensive teams can only hope to have a 50% shutout record over the course of a season

Ranked 56k with 526 pts overall, I realised I'm 58 pts behind top 1k and 57 pts ahead of top 500k. That's depressing.

Finally treated myself to full membership of the site, messing about with the different tools.

With the rate my team tool, what is a good projected score? Or is it neither here nor there?

I built a couple of WC teams on my budget that both scored 375, then one that scored 390. Should I be looking to hit 400 or is 390 decent?

    Any advice much appreciated.

      Ederson,
      Doherty, Alonso, TAA, Trippier
      Salah(c), Hazard, Richarlison, Fraser
      Aguero, Mitrovic

      Bench: Stekelenburg, Maddison, Success, WB

What’s with the few comments i’ve seen on here today about concern over Mendy sharing minutes with Sane?

It didn’t happen when Mendy was playing, so why would it happen now?

    1. Dr. Ante Pavlovic
      • 8 Years
      7 years, 9 months ago

People think Pep could play with 3-5-2 a bit but there's no need for that.

        Ahh ok cool.
Tbh at first it sounded like they were trying to justify not getting him, when he’s potentially the best defender to get.

        1. Dr. Ante Pavlovic
          • 8 Years

There is some of that also for sure.

I think I will get him for Trippier, just dont know should I take a hit before their game vs each other.

I’m considering the exact same move but would be for a free, but debating if to just keep Trippier for the West Ham game then switch. Waiting long as i can to do it and hope Trips rises.

    2. sfsfsfe

probably because of the CL rotation (even if that concerns every player in the first team) and the fact that Sané have been looking sharp when he starts.

      1. Salah’s Sonnet

That’s fine, but i just really can’t see that happening all too often if at all.
Easily covered with bench if it happens. Either way i definitely want Mendy in.

        1. sfsfsfe
          • 8 Years

could be a way of justifying not getting him in if you already own Alonso and Tripp as your premiums defenders and have to pick between him and Robbo I guess

            • 14 Years

Yeah that’s true, not wanting to lose a certain defender they want to keep etc.
