    Next transfers for this team?
Im thinking when/If Salah shows up and makes a haul, Mane and Walker to Salah and Duffy?

    Dubravka
    Walker Robbo TAA Alonso
    Hazard Richa Fraser Mane
    Arnie Aguero

    Subs: Hamer, WanB, Hughes, Kamara

I wouldn't make any moves for gwk9 unless someone gets injured between now and then or something. That lineup could really blow up and net you a huge score.

    Hart
    Doherty/Trippier/TAA/Laporte
    Hazard(C)/Richarlison/Fraser
    Aguero/Kane/Mitrovic

    Hamer/Maddison/AWB/Masuaku. 1.9 itb

    A. Fraser and Kane > Sterling and vardy -4 (will captain sterling)
    B. Save FT

I kinda fancy Vardy to sneak a goal vs Arsenal but wouldn't be over confident in it. I'll say B, safe option. Always nice to reassess with two transfers.

yeah I agree with you, always nice to sit back and have 2 ft for next round. Very tempted with sterling though, think he will smash it this gameweek

I just had a look at the watchlist and doubt with the ranking of DF which show Trippier with favourable fixtures and also above Robertson.

    Trippier : whu / MCI / wol / cry / CHE
    Robertson : hud / CAR / ars / FUL / wat

Two home games of Spurs look pretty difficult, IMO.

This could be too "maverick" but I like the look of it, would appreciate any opinions from others.

    Moura + Trippier + Fraser > Mane + Balbuena + Siggy for a -4

Either that or just Moura > Mane for free just now (2.9m ITB) and work in those transfers over next few GWs.

I don't know much about Balbuena. I wouldn't sell Fraser if he's declared fit though.

    The striker conundrum

Many of us have been using one premium striker (mostly Kun) + Mid priced strikers (Arnie / Zaha / Mitro /Wilson / King). Others have used Jimenez or Ings as their 3rd striker.

    1. Willl the tendency now shift to two premium strikers with Vardy & Lacazette both having good fixtures and the from that comes with it?
Neither will be affected by European football either.

    2. Do they provide enough « value » for 9.0/9.6 price?

    3. Does the rest of your team become unbalanced by a 2nd premium striker?

I think both Laca and Vardy provide good value, but I think Arnie and Mitro provide even better value and I wouldn't want to sell Aguero.

Salah out is the key here for me - before, that extra 3m investment in a midfielder decreased the available cost for a striker in the 2nd slot for me (was rolling Kun/Mitro 3-5-2)

Now with Salah perhaps being sold, I can use that 2FT to make one of the 9-9.5m ones into my second striker.

Market forces seem to support this a bit too - almost 165k buys in for Laca, despite the underlying stats (as the article and other things like our podcast this week) being a bit under par. If Vardy has scored v Everton I'd wager he'd also be in the mix.

      1. Not sure just yet.
      2. No. I have Kane, Aguero and Zaha. Arguably Mitrovic and Arnie would have been better than Kane and Aguero. But that's not the reason for my shi+ rank, jusf another contributor 🙁
      3. As there's decent points scored by decently priced mids and defenders I don't fhink so. But I'd prob better with Zaga, Arnautovic and Mitrovic pointswise and have about 6m in the bank.

    4. Pinturicchio10
      7 years, 10 months ago

My current team below. (wc played in gwk5). I like it but also appreciate the value of the cheaper picks. I've just always preferred mid-premium strikers.

      Hart-Lössl
      Bennett-Alonso-Robertson-Mendy-3.9
Hazard-Fraser-Maddison-Billing-D. Silva (will likely become Mané in gwk10)
      Vardy-Arnautovic-Agüero

A performing budget type will be hard to match for value but I do feel like having the right mid-premiums at the right times will bring way more points come season end. Still, if a midfield option became essential to me I'd have no problem dropping Vardy for someone like Mitrovic or Wilson. Jimenez too actually.

I think with options like Murray, Mitro & Wilson preforming well and with good fixtures, there isn’t a massive need to have another premium striker in the ranks.

Really not sure what to do with my 2FTs. Any suggestions?

    Patricio - Hamer
    Alonso - Trippier - Robertson - Pereria - AWB

    Kun - Arnie - Quaner

Arsenal's defensive stats not looking great but Tripps may be more of a rote risk than Monreal, however the Tripps has that higher ceiling

Tough call but I'd be tempted A1 and seeing what happens with Tripps, you should be able to move him to Mendy easy if that becomes a concern

        Indeed Rupert, indeed.

O'Neill has been whingjng the last coupld of years that he hasn'f enough quality. When he calls up Doherty he leaves him on the bench. He could play Doherty wide left and McClean further up or even go to a back 4 with Doherty ahead of Christie. There's pragmatic and then there's absolutely fearful of losing.

Liverpool play Huddersfield away at 5-30 next Saturday, then Red Star Belgrade at home on the following Wed and Cardiff home 3 days later.

I would have thought unlikely Salah going to start all 3, if fit. Less likely as recovering from knock.

Seems high chance of Shaqiri (or Sturridge) starting v Huddersfield with Salah at best getting late run out as sub (possibly for 1 point! ) to keep him for Red Star game they need to win.

Yeah very worrying. The saving grace is, with all due respect, the Red Star game mayn't be the sort of game JK feels he needs to play a full strength team. Though the flip side is one could say the same about HUD/CAR.
      Very tricky period coming.

Small injury is in some ways worse as it adds an element of uncertainty.

Hard to justify keeping him when at the very least his minutes will be limited to ensure he fully recovers.

they 'need' to win the Huddersfield game too, not sure on this logic tbh. Unless we get better information, it's all guesswork. No reason he can't just play Shaqiri and Sturridge vs Red Star, it's not exactly Barcelona

Having held Salah and the last few weeks whilst my rivals were selling it's going to be a real kick in the teeth if he now misses the next run of easy gsmes and I'm forced to follow suit. Really hope it's just a strain and a week off is enough for him to recover.

In the same boat - it is what it is. Captain Hindsight has X ray vision, and I'm sure you've got some decisions right that your rivals haven't too. It's because of the focus on the high owned premium that it's a bigger issue on paper - but for example many of my rivals are now looking at how to buy in Doherty etc from a position of losing out on 27 points. Swings et roundabouts

Fair point. I'm going to hold for now still and if the next couple of weeks are duds it's an easy swap to Sterling or KDB if he comes back all guns blazing.

    Fantastic article 🙂

Wolves' deep compact defending encourages shots from outside the box. And Patricio is of sufficient quality to save them all. I've had Patricio/4.0 all season, and is unlikely to change all season. I'm starting to think a Wolves defensive treble up is the way to go. They're tighter than Pulis' Stoke side.

Ings is so unfortunate he's surrounded by poor quality. Hughes said before the season he will be using attractive attacking football, and the numbers show that he has done. Saints have had more shots than Liverpool and Tottenham! I sold Ings for Arnie last week, but I would not be surprised if that came back to haunt me 😕

2 good points. Patricio + 4.0 is the best GK option imo. A triple up may be too much though.

I'm keeping Ings, think at 5.5 he is great value still and has posted great numbers.

As a leftfield move, should I upgrade Will Hughes > Shaqiri for the next couple? Would start a midfield 5 of Haz/Salah/Shaq/Fraser/Rich, and cover both Salah & his likely deputy until the uncertainty's over.

Salah injury 'not too bad'. Return date 'sure you know yourself' 😉

FFS should get press credentials and send a rep to such press conferences, injury announcements. 'Will he start in GW12 Jurgen or might he start on the bench?'

Why are people saying some players need resting for example Salah.. Was on a talk fpl online and they were saying 0-0 between Liverpool vs Man city was down to players needing a break..utter garbage

Quite light in defence, been getting huge returns from big hitter. Like Jiminez over others

2 free transfers and 1.4 m in bank. I am .1 m short of Bilva to Mane and Trippier to TAA. Would you keep Bilva for Burnley game and just go Tomkins to TAA next week and carry 1 transfer and play TAA over Doherty who would provide bench cover?

    Current team

    Patricio
    Trippier Doherty Alonso
    Hazard BSilva Richarlison Fraser
    Aguero Kane Mitrovic

    Foster AWB Tomkins Billing

I'm considering this but waiting on more news.
But you have a decent bench so i wouldn't in your case.

Hazard most essential player in the game this year. Would do it myself if Salah was 100% fit even as you still have Mane and Robbo.

Arguably Man Utd are more leaky than Huddersfield at present... so Haz could score more than Salah even if Salah plays.

I don't think you NEED to do anything.
Bennett and Maddison on the bench are fine if needed.
