FPL Breakfast Club – Episode 6 – Across the Sea

Join us for another episode of Breakfast Club this morning as we prepare for Gameweek 9 of Fantasy Premier League.

You can watch it below or on our YouTube channel.

Joe and David will be joined by special guests Josh and Brandon from popular podcast Always Cheating this morning to discuss their transfer plans.

The pair will be beaming in all the way across the sea from their base of operations in the USA.

We will be on air from 11:15am to 11:45am.

Once the 11:30am deadline has passed we’ll be looking at the team news for Chelsea vs Manchester United. There will be particular focus on Marcos Alonso and Eden Hazard who are still very fashionable Fantasy assets.

Any ideas if Fraser and King will play, I may have the worst bench I've seen in Jorginho, Shaw and AWB

One of the two will be struggling at least imo

That was a very unsatisfying WC fortnight. Feel like I never quite found a team I love, ended up only changing 4 players and have left myself a benching headache each week.

So many good options now. Reckon the template will shift hugely in the next fortnight and I may have been better waiting...

my reason for not activating WC was because of very few options to choose from, especially mids/fwds 😮

Just the opposite if you know where to look outside the template you see here.

i was actually looking outside template and none of them looking exciting picks, felt more like desperate picks to avoid template

              different selection criteria I guess

Arsenal, Brighton, Bournemouth, Burnley, Cardiff, Palace, Fulham, Huddersfield, Man Utd, Tottenham, Southampton, Watford

Thats 12 teams out of the window.

kinda agree - lots of cheap-to-mid-priced forwards to choose from, but beyond that it's all a bit meh

Last season my wc cost me 30 points and my team was ruined for months after. But as long as you have salah and double liverpool defence you should be ok I think

Had exactly the same problem, felt lucky when someone on here pointed out another IB break in THREE weeks. Decided to WC then to see injuries clear up and KDB form.

Yeah I kinda had to hit WC. No real bench, too many fringe players, couple of injuries.

But it doesn't feel like it's loads better for it.

Chickened out of restructuring it to accommodate Vardy or Lacazette but think a -4 means I can easily do that. Biggest risk I took was losing Alonso for Mendy. We shall see...

Someone needs to tell Pogba that when the opposition has the ball, standing in space doesn't constitute defending.

    But not today.

Best and worst pieces of business so far this year both involve Riyad Mahrez.

You've gotta say shipping a bloke who clearly has spent two years not really wanting to play for the club for £60m and then replacing him with a 21 year old prospect like James Maddison is some shrewd business by Puel. And I believe Leicester look a better team for it and in particular and aging Vardy looks to have been revived somewhat.

On to the worst. Now, at no point here am I saying Mahrez isn't a quality player. Of course he is. But I don't really know what Pep's game plan was in sanctioning Mahrez in and Sancho out. Yes I know Sancho left last year but even then Pep was all over Mahrez and it never really came to fruition. Buying a 27 year old world beating winger in a team of world beating wingers when you have a young lad with talent and desperate to play seems on for a manager with such intelligence. Maybe put an arm round him and say his chance is coming... Instead of going on and on about signing Mahrez for 2 years.

Any thoughts from the community? Any 'best and worst' business so far?

We've made some very good transfer deals over the past few years
OUT: Kante ( the most costly in terms of effect on the team). Drinkwater, Mahrez
      IN: Maguire, Maddison
