The top 10,000 Fantasy Premier League managers were rewarded for their faith in Mohamed Salah (£12.9m) in Gameweek 10.

The Liverpool man had a considerably higher backing for the captaincy among this season’s elite when compared with the overall figures.

Meanwhile, those outside the top echelons of the world rankings seemed slightly more keen on chip usage this weekend.

Ragabolly was unavailable to write the Metrics article this week but was kind enough to let us use his data…

Captains

Salah was comfortably the most captained option among the top 10,000 Fantasy managers this Gameweek, and that decision was largely justified by his 15-point haul.

Over half of the managers in that bracket handed him the armband (53.20%) with Sadio Mané (£9.7m) a long way off in second place with 15.35% backing.

Eden Hazard (£11.4m), still touch and go for a start against Burnley, was the third most popular option.

Contrasting that with FPL managers overall, Salah’s drop in popularity with the masses was reflected in his captaincy among them. He was still the most popular individual but had just a 20.63% share. Meanwhile, 47.71% of managers handed the armband to ‘other’.

Most Popular Players

Salah’s popularity with this season’s most successful managers is also, not surprisingly, borne out in ownership too.

As you can see from the template teams in the different ranking brackets, Salah is in 55.58% of sides inside the top 10,000 compared to the

Again, Mané remains the more fashionable asset when rank is taken out of the equation. He is in 31.58% of teams overall but James Maddison (£7.0m), Richarlison (£6.8m) and Ryan Fraser (£6.0m) are all preferred options to the Senegalese international in the top 10,000.

Chip Usage

Gameweek 10 was another week where the Wildcard was the most-used chip in FPL. It was the top 10,000 managers who were mor keen on using it with 1.92% of them pressing the button, compared to 1.6% overall.

However, it was the other chips that were just about more fashionable outside the top 10,000. 0.97% of managers played the Triple Captain, 1.03% the Free Hit and 0.81% went for the Bench Boost.

Those figures were slightly higher compared to the top 10,000, who are presumably more interested in using those chips when Double Gameweeks come around in 2019.

Same, 20 points over the average and still going south from a 1K position ......

Shows how skewed top 10K vs the rest is. Only differentials are Wilson and Ryan/Foster/Fabianski......

Surely FPL can amend the team changes deadline to adopt the system used by a number of other fantasy sports where you can move & add/drop players all the way up until their specific match starts.
For example – team news come out that Player X is benched, you can choose to put them on your own bench prior to the match starting and bring in a player that hasn’t played yet. Also, if you see a player like Arnautovic gets ruled you could trade them out for a player that again hasn’t played yet.
    Thoughts?

The current system is fairest to the global players. Would need to be around for lineups otherwise.

NFL does it successfully and it's in a similar situation with being global. I'm based in Australia and game-times are about as bad here as they could be, but would still love them to change it up.

Today's KO was 1am Sydney only because there was no early game.
Would be terrible if you needed to change players afterwards for a 3.30am game etc. Plenty of other countries have it so much worse.

    Mendy route

    A) Richa > Deulofeu/Brooks
    B) Murray > fodder and change to 442 with Doherty
    C) forget Mendy (Alonso+Robbo is enough)

Our owners are the sole reason Leicester won the league, providing the experience of a lifetime to all of Leicester and a story to go down in history. Vichai and Top are literal heroes. To say their deaths don't matter anymore than anyone else's involved in the club is pedantic and misses the point. Why would you ever mourn anyone with a high profile with that logic?

Should we consider keeping Bournemouth players such as Wilson and Fraser for the tough run or fixtures or should we sell?

Hard to tell, there arent many better options at their prices IMO. And Bournemouth look fhe real deal, no reason why they cant challenge for a top 7/8 spot with this form.

Im still undecided. My original plan was to move them out.

For saving money Fraser can become Kenedy or J.Murphy
Wilson can become Arnatovic or Murrey.

Form over fixtures or fixtures over form?

    5. PrettyDick

I might "have to" sell Fraser, but it's more to do with other options I'd rather have if I to, not about how I think they'll do in these fixtures. Home to ManU and Arsenal fits them very well I think (offensively). Can easily see them scoring a couple of goals in each game (less sure about Newcastle away, oddly enough).

As people have said you would have to find better options. For Wilson? Maybe Murray, on pens and good fixtures, but does he start every game? And his away record isn't the best. Deeney perhaps? But his fixtures aren't the most exciting in the world either. Ings, is playing in a not so productive team atm.. Newcastle have great fixtures but they're not scoring a lot of goals no matter who they're playing and with Rondon back from injury it's hard to be sure about game time. And so forth.

Similar for Fraser I think. Maybe Kenedy if one wants to take a punt on a Newcastle player and free up some cash to use else where? While Brighton have good fixtures it's hard to be sure of which one of their mids will start. Pereyra perhaps?

Whatever people do, good luck to us and may the fpl gods be kind

    Would you rather have:

    A) Success + Fraser
    or
    B) Hojbjerg + Deeney

I am leaning towards B, because it sounds like Deeney will be back and with that he's back on pens and 90 minutes and Success is back on the bench. Also Fraser's fixtures are getting more difficult, although.. I do believe home to United and Arsenal fits him/them well for scoring goals.

What are your thoughts on these options? (going forward, not up until now, obv)

    Appreciate feedback, cheers

Balbuena (ignore the fact he scored today) surely a decent option in defence.
£4.4m, huge differential and good fixtures.

Feeling a bit sideswiped by the fact both Trent and Holebas missed out today.
Those two surely cant be guaranteed starts every week now.

Maybe, someone you'd actually want to play as AWB is fodder atm.
Same as me in attack nearly and I wouldn't want to rely on TAA.

Good thing is that Balbuena rotates pretty well with Richarlison.

I just realized how much of a budget Salah takes,by selling him to Mane I could afford this team:
        Ryan
        Alonso Trippier Mendy Robbo
        Hazard Mane KDB
        Aguero Arnie Wilson
        Button Hojbjerg Stephens AWB
        0.0 itb

Just need to do minus 20 but in theory I can have that

Could just sell Aguero for less damage.

I did the opposite move today and Salah makes my team very inflexible. However Salah's form and mentality seemed to improve in time for a great run of fixtures and I reckon he could return to last season's form after all the goals he has/will score. The long term prospects sold it to me.

Still bloody annoying that Mane matched him today, though. Ha.
