The football world has been brought to a standstill by the tragic events at the King Power Stadium on Saturday evening.

Leicester City owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, two members of his staff, a pilot and his partner all died in a helicopter crash after the Foxes’ 1-1 draw with West Ham.

The condolences of the Fantasy Football Scout team go out to the Srivaddhanaprabha family and everyone connected with Leicester City.

Out of respect to those involved in this terrible incident, we have decided to reduce our focus on the match itself.

Instead, we would like to pay tribute to what Leicester’s philanthropic chairman brought to the Fantasy Premier League community.

No football fan will ever forget how he inspired the Foxes to an against all odds Premier League title win in 2016.

The impact that had on FPL managers will always be remembered fondly. Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy, in particular, were exciting mid-price Fantasy options to own that season as they combined for 41 goals and 17 assists.

Beginning the campaign priced at £5.5m and £6.0m respectively the pair offered exceptional value never seen before in FPL.

Defensive assets such as Wes Morgan and Christian Fuchs also helped Fantasy managers capitalise on 15 clean sheets.

As Leicester comes to terms with their devastating loss, their midweek EFL Cup tie with Southampton has been understandably postponed.

While nothing has been confirmed one way or another, there have already been suggestions that the Foxes’ Gameweek 11 trip to Cardiff City may also be re-arranged to a later date.

If that were to happen it would be the first blank Gameweek of the 2018/19 season.

Leicester City 1-1 West Ham United

Goals: Wilfried Ndidi (£4.9m) | Fabian Balbuena (£4.4m)

Assists: Demarai Gray (£5.4m)

Jamie Vardy (£9.0m) started this particular match on the bench amid stories in the media of a rift between him and manager Claude Puel. The player himself had posted on social media that he was “back to full strength” following an illness but his boss clearly had a different view.

“He could not train earlier this week. I want a player who is at 100% to start. He will have a good opportunity to come in the second half and show his energy.” – Claude Puel

With Wes Morgan (£4.5m) serving the last of his two-match suspension, Caglar Söyüncü (£4.9m) made his first start. He does appear to have the potential to stake a claim in the side but will have to do some work to rough his edges.

West Ham’s team news saw Marko Arnautovic (£7.0m) miss out altogether with an illness. The suggestion is that he should have recovered from that in time for Gameweek 11.

Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez (£6.2m) started up front in the 4-2-3-1 system favoured by Manuel Pellegrini in the absence of the injured Pedro Obiang (£4.4m). With Andriy Yarmolenko (£6.8m) possibly out for the season, Robert Snodgrass (£5.3m) looks likely to retain his place in the side. He was deployed as the number 10 role behind Chicharito and, as was the case in pre-season, was in charge of set pieces.

Felipe Anderson (£6.8m) and youngster Grady Diangana (£4.5m) were utilised in wide areas.

Fabian Balbuena (£4.4m) finally delivered on the set-piece goal threat he had promised in recent weeks. He gave West Ham the lead in the first half after latching onto the end of a free-kick. Balbuena’s header hit the post and he turned in the rebound.

West Ham handed the advantage back to the hosts soon after as Mark Noble (£4.9m) was sent off for a high tackle. His three-match ban sees him miss one EFL Cup tie, Gamweek 11 and Gameweek 12.

Lukasz Fabianski (£4.5m) was close to another massive away-day haul with his string of saves but was beaten by a deflected Wilfried Ndidi (£4.9m) shot late on. It was a deserved goal for Leicester who piled on the pressure in the second half. Nevertheless, Fabianski still managed to record a ‘fake clean sheet’, scoring six points from his seven saves and two bonus.

There was a serious injury to Daniel Amartey (£4.4m) in the closing stages as he appeared to break his ankle. With much attention naturally on the passing of Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, it has not actually yet been confirmed as a fracture. However, it has been at least established that he has had surgery on his ankle.

Leicester City XI (4-2-3-1): Schmeichel; Chilwell, Maguire, Söyüncü (Okazaki 80′), Amartey; Iborra, Ndidi; Albrighton, Maddison, Ghezzal (Vardy 45′); Iheanacho (Gray 61′).

West Ham United XI (4-2-3-1): Fabianski; Masuaku, Diop, Balbuena, Zabaleta; Rice, Noble; Anderson (Ogbonna 81′), Snodgrass, Diangana (Cresswell 75′); Chicharito (Antonio 61′).

Manchester City have conceded just three goals in their first 10 Premier League games this season – in top-flight history, only one team have conceded fewer in their first 10 games of a season (Chelsea in 2004-05, two conceded).

Ederson has kept a clean sheet in each of his last six Premier League starts for Man City – he’s the first goalkeeper to achieve this feat since Thibaut Courtois in November 2016 for Chelsea.

I had Ederson but I got rid last week...regretting it now, as I haven't even used the funds. Fabianski did fine this week without a cleansheet, however.

And excellent pass completion. Tackled three times I think. It was more his positioning and awareness that was all over the place. Looked short on confidence.

He won’t but players have often had a terrible ‘eye test’ and managed bonus points. The systems naff but at least it’s consistent

Be interested in an Aguero article this week. Delivered attacking returns in every game you’d expect him to (bar wolves away) but really being hampered by reduced minutes and impacting the chances of hauls and bonus points. Personally not touching him but worth a discussion

It's basically, who is the best route into City attacking points. Aguero - who will play 60-70 mins every game or one of the others, who are likely to get 75 - 90 but may miss the odd game?

i'm not sure there is a best route. Sterling / KDB will score well over the season when available, as will Aguero. just need to get a bit lucky in terms of who you have and when. i.e. Sterling for first 5 /6 games was woeful, many had KDB when he got injured, many missed Aguero's hauls at the start.

i agree to an extent but most have had him since the start. the Hud haul bought him a lot of time and he's scored well enough since then but i am certainly tempted to sell. it's just the fear of doing it with massive ownership and his ability to haul that scares people

    5. JohnnyMagrinho

So because Ederson hoofs the ball up the pitch and Mendy is, well, Mendy, they both get BPS?

Nothing for Sterling who was arguably far more integral to the goal than Ederson or Bilva who didn't stop running the entire game.

        Cool, cool.

        1. JohnnyMagrinho
            7 years, 5 months ago

As soon as I post this Mendy is out of BP. I'll take it.

But still, Ederson getting 2 is ridiculous. He didn't do anything all game to warrant getting bonus points over any other City player.

He also didn't get dispossessed and completed a good % of passes. He is an excellent pick if you can afford him as will get tons of clean sheets and in tight games is likely to pick up baps. It's a flawed system, but we can take advantage of it.

Not sure on that. His long pass to Sterling forced Trippier into a mistake that ledto the goal, and he was brilliant in coming out to deny Kane a clear goal scoring opportunity.

He played well today but still managed a few appalling pieces of control.

Does all the hard work then arses it up.

Winning ball then giving away a corner from 40 yards up the pitch for example.

How likely is it that Mitro will drop before Saturday’s deadline and Arnautovic not? (asking for a friend with only £0.1 in the bank)

Have Mitro now and going to keep for the Huddersfield game, want to get Arnie next GW. Only £0.1m left in the bank so can no longer afford the swap next GW if Mitro drops to £6.8m on Friday night

This is the first week for a long time that I haven't got a clear transfer plan. What would you do?

            Ryan
            Mendy - Robertson - Alonso
            Salah - Maddison - Hazard - Fraser
            Aguero - Jimenez - Arnie

            Button - Doherty - AWB - Ward

Not the next 2. Everton and Cardiff away. Brighton don't really score on the road.

I think they are great defensively. Ryan has been a star during the last 3 games although they can't keep it up.

No probs. B looks best to me. A little punty but it could pay off. I would also want Mendy but the bench is a concern with those trades. I don't think Success will be around for long. He is a great option of I am wrong. I don't see Barkely as a great option.

No problem. Arnie has been great without the points and he has the fixtures to boot. Martial is a punt but like you said there is a high upside if you get it right. It is one I am keeping a close eye on.

            Mendy. Robbo. Doherty. Cedric. AWB.
            Salah. Hazard. Maddison. Richarlison. Fraser.
            Aguero. Mitro. Ings.
