As we approach Gameweek 11 of Fantasy Premier League we have got to work on updating our Watchlist.

It’s goalkeepers up first, with teams such as Brighton and West Ham began to get more attention for their budget options

Alisson (£5.6m) retains the top spot for another week even as Liverpool prepare for a trip to face Arsenal. After that, they still have home matches against Fulham and Everton as well as a trip to Burnley in Gameweek 15.

Ederson (£5.7m) has crept back above Kepa Arrizabalaga (£5.5m) but both goalkeepers are on the brink of reclaiming Favourable Fixture tags. Manchester City have some appealing home fixtures but they still face Manchester United and Chelsea in the next six Gameweeks. Maurizio Sarri’s men have excellent home matches before the defending champions come to Stamford Bridge in Gameweek 16, but they have to visit Spurs in Gameweek 13.

Mat Ryan (£4.5m) has risen to become the best of the rest after a third successive clean sheet recorded in Gameweek 10. The Brighton shot-stopper keeps his Favourable Fixtures tag on account of the fact that the Seagulls still sit top of the Season Ticker defence section for the next six Gameweeks.

Lukasz Fabianski (£4.5m) is up next with West Ham’s fixtures particularly appealing over the next six Gameweeks. Burnley and Huddersfield are the Hammers’ next two opponents and home matches against Cardiff and Crystal Palace are also on the horizon.

Kasper Schmeichel (£5.0m) comes in at sixth place although there is understandably some uncertainty over what future Gameweeks will hold for him. There had been suggestions that Leicester’s trip to Cardiff City this weekend would be postponed although it weas confirmed to be going ahead as planned on Tuesday.

Rui Patricio (£4.6m) has dropped several places following back-to-back clean sheet wipe-outs against favourable opponents. The next two matches look particularly tricky for Wolves with Spurs coming to Molineux in Gameweek 11 and a trip to Arsenal in Gameweek 12. However, it’s Huddersfield and Cardiff after that.

Martin Dubravka (£5.0m) remains at the lower end of the scale although he did register a first clean sheet since Gameweek 6 last time out. The Magpies could prove a source of defensive points as their run is, on paper, quite favourable.

Jordan Pickford (£4.9m) and Ben Foster (£4.5m) bring up the rear with their fixtures a little mixed. The Everton man could be used in a rotation as the Toffees have favourable opponents coming to Goodison Park between now and Gameweek 16 while their away trips are rather difficult. Foster has Unfavourable Fixtures attached to him as Watford must host Liverpool and Manchester City between now and Gameweek 15.

    Fab
    Alonso Robbo Pereira
    Hazard Mane Rich Fraser
    Kun Laca Mitro

    Bench: Doherty Hojbjerg Bissaka

    A. Bissaka & Laca -> Mendy & Arnie
    Change formation to 4-3-3
Replace Mitro\Fraser the following week (will have 1.8M for upgrades)

    B. Pereira -> Mendy now, Mitro -> Arnie next GW
Exact funds, so must do Pereira -> Mendy today

Leaning towards A, as I like the idea of a strong backline

Reckon I'm going to spend all week wondering about Laporte to Mendy. Reckon it's worth holding Laporte for a few? I know Mendy could go wild vs Southampton, but I reckon he'd be dropped for Utd due to being a liability

    1. Karan_G14
      • 9 Years
      7 years, 4 months ago

I’d keep Laporte if you already have him. Possibly look at doubling up with a Mendy in the upcoming gameweeks.

I'm also stressing about Mendy. I was pleased he didn't go up in price last night so I could see if he plays against Fulham (thinking it was tonight) Don't know if I can risk him not rising in price again tonight or not.

think we're overhyping how much of a liability mendy is a bit, still has yet to be benched all season (or taken off early) despite thosee defensive brainfarts so far. trippier for example is much weaker defensively than mendy imo but like mendy surely is backed largely due to how much extra than the average fullback he brings to the other end of the pitch

Man Utd have conceded 17 goals, that's more than Newcastle, West Ham, Brighton, Palace.
Only one clean sheet all season.
Pep even said it's a 5 horse title race (Utd out already).

No one should be conceded about playing United, home or away.

No it isn't, but it's still a derby and a ferocious rivalry. I've a feeling Mou will come up trumps this time but probably talking with my heart over my head there.

Still think Mendy is a rotation risk over the next month though - especially if change of formation to include Sane occurs.

    I have two questions...

    A) Has Madison been playing deeper lately? Will that affect his output?

    B) Has Arnie been carrying an injury and playing through it with painkillers or something?

I want to buy them both for a hit, it's a part of a long term plan.

    Thanks.

      a. Certainly played deeper at the weekend, but still put at least two clear chances on a plate for team mates, and still on set pieces. I'm keeping.

      b. Yes, all season, he has said previously that after a game of the weekend his knee swells and he can't train for three days or so, but by the following weekend he's good to go again.
He missed this last weekend with an illness.

      A) I think he only played deeper when Leicester started chasing the game and Puel sent on extra striker. I’m keeping him the fixtures look good and he is creating chances. The recent tragedy will also motivate Leicester to do well.

      B) Yes he’s been playing with a slight knee injury but he’s had a good rest this week. I expect him to be back firing this weekend.

Can someone clear up the Barkley hype for me?

I thought the Chelsea midfield was Kante, Jorginho and then one of either Kovacic, Barkley, or RLC? Surely this makes Barkley somewhat of a major rotation risk?

If he continues current form, can be argued that it would be hard to drop him - especially with Kovacic not really doing much and RLC not up to scratch defensively for a starting berth. I've a feeling Kovacic will start the harder games, and Barkley in for the matches where attack will be a priority.

Sarri's comments were very positive after the last match.

Forgot to add he's the one that was trusted in attack when Hazard was missing - a huge plus for him to show returns when the side needed it.

But when Hazard is back, next game we believe, does that mean Sarri is more likely to get Kovacic back to cover Hazards defensive frailty?

I doubt it - Willian and Pedro are hardly defensive either. More to do with unlocking the Burnley defence imo.

Yeah I think he is but he also seems like a good FPL option and is pretty cheap. It's a risk but I think he can outscore Fraser and seems like maybe the best option atm in the 6.0 price bracket

For his price I think you're right, can possibly outscore Fraser over the season, and I think everyone should have Wilson as their Bournemouth asset.
My midfield is structured in a way that doesn't really put him on my radar, but seen lots of people on here going all in on him.

Looks to be starting against weaker sides (started last 2 of 3), and obviously his form is great atm, so likely Sarri will favour him over defensive Kovacic for most of the upcoming matches. I've just got him in so obviously speaking optimistically here

    Hazard Mane Maddison Richarlison
    Kane Laca Wilson

    Hennessey Ward WB Bennett

Keep Wolves, I have Bennett and him and Doherty looked threatening against Brighton. I would get Aguero in for Kane but might want to wait on Arnie and his sickness/knees. I wouldn't be getting rid of Wilson either, those fixtures aren't as bad as they appear.

Which defenders in the league do you think have the LEAST goal/assist threat? A centre back that doesn't go up for set pieces would be the one I guess

If you have the big four in defense (TRAM) and have to pick one of these, who would you get?

    A. Laporte + Murphy ( 5-3-2 with Murphy mostly benched)

    B. Doherty + Fraser ( Both rotated depending on fixtures)

Anyone else finding the ‘transfers out’ a bit odd this week? I’m not arguing as it’s good for those of us still holding these quality players:

Hazard (118,912 transfers out) – should be fine and playing Palace at home
    Mitro (94,048) – playing Huddersfield
Arnie (76,579) – basically should be fine and playing Burnley
Maddison (75,451) – playing Cardiff and could be inspired
Lacazette (66,351) – on good form, admittedly playing Liverpool
Robertson (39,915) – based on one benching?
Richarlison (35,662) – playing OOP vs Brighton

Agreed. Some odd behaviour! I can understand Maddie or Robbo as people are bringing in Berkley and Laca is having a bit of a drought and not great fixtures coming up but the rest is just weird!!

Haz still flagged and teams need salah for next week against Fulham. That was my move last week anyway. Willian cheap alternative to Haz. I know haz has decent record recently but still not convinced when cam have someone like sterling for same price or spend extra cash elsewhere

I'm ashamed to say I still own Lukaku as my FT went from Bennett > Balbuena
He has a great record against Bournemouth but after his woeful display against Juve and being dropped for Everton game, does anyone think he will play at weekend? I personally don't but with Cedric, WanB and Billing on my bench, could a -4 be worth it? I'm quite patient but seeing his name and price tag is hurting my eyes

u have to get rid of him. get in aguero or auba for that price. or if u want to go cheaper get in vardy or arnie. A hit worth getting rid of him.

Currently have Kane with Arnie. I can afford the Aguero switch. I know he is class though wasn't impressed at all against Spurs. Hate the 60 - 70 min guaranteed substitution though.

has anybody noticed that wolves have not scored more than or conceded more goals than 2? It's always, 1-0, 2-0, 1-1, etc.. This suggests to me worth investing in 1 defender/ GK or 2 if u wish to. I brought in Jimenez 2 weeks ago to fund salah. However, I will likely ship him for Arnie next week (after downgrading pva to zabaleta this week). Thoughts?
