    Manchester City can confirm that Benjamin Mendy has undergone surgery on his left knee tonight.
    The Frenchman, who played the full 90 minutes in the weekend’s 3-1 win over rivals Manchester United, travelled to join up with his national team before withdrawing from the squad.

    The 24-year-old defender attended Dr. Cugat’s clinic in Barcelona where scans revealed that surgery was required.

    That surgery was conducted on Wednesday evening and everyone at Manchester City wishes Benjamin a speedy recovery.

      I'll be waiting until closer to the deadline but I'll be selling. Sane is interesting me now a bit more.

      I'll probably downgrade to someone pretty cheap to start to get some funds to improve my midfield

      Laporte seems to be the obvious choice unless funds needed to upgrade elsewhere, in which case Digne/Doherty are best options under 5.0

        Wouldnt be confident that he is nailed. Zinchenko could play there or Pep could switch to 3 at the back and play Sane as wingback. If Delph does play though, he is a very good option.

      I have 3 options.

      A) Just get Laporte or Alderweireld and stick with Fraser and his bad fixtures
      B) Get Digne and stick with Fraser (0.2 short for Martial)
      C) Get Balbuena or Schindler and get Martial for Fraser

      Which one do you reckon is the best one?

      One option for me would be to downgrade to a Holebas or Duffy (4.8 or below) and upgrade Barkley to Martial. Problem is that I would have to do this before Mendy’s first drop in price in order to bank the 0.1 profit.

      Alternatives for Martial could be B. Silva or Sigurdsson or a punt on Anderson. Any another’s I’m missing?

          Maybe - it's worth noting that Mahrez didn't start any of the 3 prem matches Mendy was injured in (Although he came on as a sub towards the end for all 3).

          Sterling and Sane started all 3 in a row.

      Planning a little shake up.

      Mendy, Obiang, Success -> 4.0, Martial, Jiminez (-8)

      Gives me a bench of AWB, Brooks, 4.0 - so two decent subs over Xmas. Hopefully won't be reliant on my third sub, can only remember that happening once in the last few years (a few weeks ago actually!)

        Mendy and Deulofeu -> 4.1m defender or less and Martial.
        That defender would be third sub. Would give me a front 7 of:
