Watchlist Update – Tough fixtures stifle host of forward options

Now that Gameweek 13 is upon us after the final international break of 2018, we can conclude our Watchlist update.

We’ve already analysed the changes to goalkeepers, defenders and midfielders and now it’s the turn of the forwards.

Sergio Aguero (£11.5m) remains top of the Watchlist in this position. The Manchester City man has registered more shots than any other player this season and has more FPL points than any other forward (80). The fixtures aren’t good or bad for Aguero over the next four Gameweeks with three of them being away from home. The Argentinian has struggled on the road of late but the defences of West Ham and Watford especially have been suspect this season.

Marko Arnautovic (£7.1m) holds onto second place despite a tricky match-up with Manchester City this weekend. That meeting does not take away from the fact that West Ham’s schedule is incredibly appealing after it. They top the attacking section of our Season Ticker between now and Gameweek 19 with Newcastle (away), Cardiff (home), Crystal Palace (home), Fulham (away), Watford (home) and Southampton (away) all to come. The player is some form with a goal and an assist in his last four matches but his underlying statistics suggest he has the potential to explode in the coming weeks.

Raúl Jiménez (£5.8m) has climbed back up the Watchlist after defying the odds against Spurs and Arsenal. The stock of Wolves assets took a dip ahead of those two tough fixtures but the Mexican forward came out with 20 points from them. With the fixtures turning back in his favour, Huddersfield and Cardiff up next, the value that Jiménez can offer is excellent.

As Brighton top the Season Ticker for attacking potential over the next four Gameweeks, Glenn Murray (£6.7m) creeps up the rankings. Crucially, two of his upcoming matches are to be played at the Amex Stadium, against Leicester and Crystal Palace in Gameweek 13 respectively. Murray has scored in all but one of his outings in front of his own fans this season. While he has mustered just one away goal so far, his Gameweek 16 opponents Burnley have given up more shots than any other side in 2018/19.

Jamie Vardy (£9.0m) may be in poor form and be a slight injury doubt ahead of Gameweek 13, but Leicester’s fixtures still have some potential to them. Over the next three, they face Brighton, Watford and Fulham who combine for a total of just six clean sheets from a possible 36 in 2018/19. Conversely, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£10.9m), is in better form with five goals and one assist in his last five matches but faces some tough fixtures. Arsenal have Bournemouth (away) next before a double-header of rivalry matches against Spurs (home) and Manchester United (away).

Callum Wilson (£6.8m) is another in-form option with a tricky-looking set of fixtures. It’s four goals in his last five matches but Arsenal (home), Manchester City (away) and Liverpool (home) between now and Gameweek 16. Álvaro Morata (£8.7m) is yet another striker in a similar position. He has scored three times since Gameweek 10, averaging 6.33 points per match, but Chelsea have rather unappealing fixtures. It’s Spurs (away) next, before Wolves (away) and Manchester City (home) in Gameweeks 15 and 16 respectively.

Harry Kane‘s (£12.3m) latest price fall is indicative of his value to FPL managers, as it continues to drop. Spurs have Chelsea (home) and Arsenal (away) as their next two matches while Kane has just two attacking returns since Gameweek 8. Isaac Success (£4.6m) props up the Watchlist as the only active starting striker at his price point. That said, the fixtures are rotten for Watford and Success himself has just one goal this season.

With Man Utd's easy fixtures, there is a lot of love for Martial... Just thinking if Lukaku is worth a punt for 1-2 weeks?
