As more premium Fantasy Premier League options emerge in midfield, our Watchlist has been updated accordingly.

We’ve taken a look at the four positions and come up with our list of best players for the Christmas period.

As expected, midfield is where we see the most changes, while several fixture swings have been factored in too.

Eden Hazard (£11.0m) is the biggest mover on the Watchlist this week as he has finally knocked Mohamed Salah (£13.1m) off his perch in the midfield section. The combination of the Chelsea man’s form and fixtures is simply too good to resist. It’s Leicester (home), Watford (away), Crystal Palace (away), Southampton (home), Newcastle (home) in the next five for Maurizio Sarri’s men. Furthermore, having recovered from an injury, Hazard benefits from being the only FPL asset to be consistently involved in attacking returns for his side.

Just below the Belgian are the Manchester City duo of Raheem Sterling (£11.6m) and Leroy Sané (£9.7m), who sit either side of West Ham’s in-form Brazilian Felipe Anderson (£7.4m). Both clubs have favourable fixtures over Christmas and all three players sit in the top seven midfielders for form on the official FPL website. The trio all have encouraging underlying statistics over recent weeks too, so we believe their form is sustainable.

It is Salah’s price that counts against him compared to the four options above him, that and the tougher nature of his fixtures. Liverpool’s schedule has dropped to Unfavourable for Alisson (£5.8m), remaining blank for Andrew Robertson (£6.5m) and Salah, given their potential for attacking returns in their upcoming schedule. But they cannot compete with the run of matches in front of Chelsea, Manchester City and West Ham.

Not a lot changes in the forwards’ department as Harry Kane (£12.6m) and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£11.5m) retain the top two spots due to their form and fixtures. Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez (£6.4m) rises to reflect West Ham’s incredible Fantasy appeal, while Fulham’s fixtures keep Aleksandr Mitrovic (£6.8m) just above Raúl Jiménez (£6.2m) for one more week. The Cottagers face a trip to Newcastle this weekend, with Wolves hosting Liverpool. While the Molineux side are ranking fairly poorly on our Season Ticker, with the Reds, Tottenham and Manchester City three of their next six, at the same time they will face Fulham (away), Crystal Palace (home) and Leicester (home) in that time, offsetting their fixtures as blank on the Watchlist.

Marcus Rashford (£6.9m) joins the forwards with Manchester United’s appealing run of games. They face Cardiff (away), Huddersfield (home), Bournemouth (home), Newcastle (away) in the next four Gameweeks.

Jonas Lössl (£4.5m) is the new name among the goalkeepers to reflect the appeal of Huddersfield Town’s upcoming fixtures. Over the next six Gameweeks, they face Southampton, Fulham, Burnley and Cardiff. The Terriers’ shot-stopper comes onto the Watchlist in place of Kasper Schmeichel (£5.0m), as Leicester’s fixtures stiffen up.

Mat Ryan (£4.5m) remains at the bottom of the goalkeeper pile, while there is no Brighton representative among the defenders anymore. That’s because the Seagulls now rank as low as 19th for fixtures over the next six Gameweeks, according to our Season Ticker.

Meanwhile, Newcastle options take a hit all across the Watchlist. The Magpies run of appealing fixtures is coming to an end, once a Gameweek 18 meeting with Fulham is out of the way. After that, it’s Liverpool (away), Manchester Home (home), and Chelsea (away) in three of their next five. Accordingly, Martin Dubravka (£5.0m), DeAndre Yedlin (£4.5m), now back from suspension, and Salomón Rondón (£5.7m) who drop in their respective categories.

Everton’s fixtures are travelling in the opposite direction, as they face Burnley (away), Brighton (away), Leicester (home), Bournemouth (home) and Southampton (away) after their Gameweek 18 meeting with Spurs at Goodison Park. That is good news for Lucas Digne (£5.0m) who has the form and underlying statistics to suggest he can deliver attacking returns against those sides. Jordan Pickford (£5.0m) may find clean sheets a little harder to come by, but the fixtures are there nonetheless.

Elsewhere in defence, Aaron Wan-Bissaka (£4.3m) creeps just above Yedlin and Calum Chambers (£4.2m), despite Crystal Palace’s awful fixtures. While the Eagles face Manchester City (away), Chelsea (home) and Liverpool (away) between now and Gameweek 23, home matches against Cardiff in Gameweek 19 and Watford in Gameweek 22 are ones in which starting Wan-Bissaka looks likely for his owners.

Surely Rashford In with news of Rom being out, if I plan to wildcard in two weeks and can bring back Jiménez for just 0.1 more than I sell him on WC, is it worth doing Jimmy > Rash (FT)

    Play Digne or Doherty?

    1. The Big Fella

Tough one. I'd play Digne just because there is a chance Spurs play their second string team (Moura, no Eriksen or Alli etc.) and then they seem to look very disjointed.

    Fabianski
    Kolasinac - DLuiz - Dunk
    Sterling - Sane - Son - F.Anderson
    Kane - Chicharito - Wilson

    Hennessey, Camarasa, Wan Bissaka, Digne

    1 FT 1.5itb

With Son started in midweek, Kola still flagged, Wilson played 90min yesterday, and tempted to have Hazard, is this move justified:

    Son + Wilson >> Hazard + Ings (-4)?

Touche! I thought he played the whole match plus pens. I have Sterling and I have been thinking about not captaining him as in my head he had played all match on Tuesday. That's sorted my captaincy now. I wonder if Pep will bench him as punishment for the fancy penalty kick which he missed though. He was apparently furious. I hate Pep.

Can't see anything other than Sterling starting this weekend...doesn't seem like Pep's style to punish a player for trying something creative...albeit a little stupid in the moment. If that peno goes in, he looks like a genius.

In light of the news that Lukaku is on compassionate leave, I am debating doing Wilson to Rashford. Wilson played 90 minutes mid-week and Rashford will be centre forward against Cardiff. I can then bring Hazard in next week. However, I cannot think who B'mouth would play instead of Wilson that would be effective in a must-win game for them (they have bad fixtures coming up and so need to win against the Brightons of the league). Rashford is guaranteed for the next two matches at least. Wilson also has United and Spurs after Brighton, which will be tough games. He is also going to drop by the looks of it and Rashford is going to rise. Thoughts?

It is a good point but I think he will play anyway, even if not as the centre forward. He will want to show he is Fergie-esque and supports to the true values of the club etc etc by playing youth. Also, there is no alternative except perhaps Martial and both can play in the same team together.

Difficult choice here and in two minds about it.

    1. Save the FT and re-assess next GW.
    2. Move for Hazard now. (-4). Gibbs-White + Auba -> Hazard + Ings. (Exact cash if I do this now too). The prob I see with waiting is that I wont be able to make the same changes to bring in Haz and will have to go a diff route of getting him in.

    Fabianski.
    Kola, Digne, Lowe.
Rich, Sane (vc), Sterling (c), Felipe.
    Mitro, Auba, Kane.
    Hamer, Doherty, AWB, Gibbs- White.
    1ft, 0.9m

There is a decent chance that Auba doesn't start this GW + now would be the best time to move for Ings I think with 2 very good fixtures + it means I have Hazard!

Just checked the watchlist for cheap DF.

If Brighton DF are all out from the list because of fixtures. I don't think Yedlin should stay in the list just because of FUL on GW18.

Btw, is it really worth to have Huddersfield DF? I'm looking for sub 4.5m DF to replace Kolasinac.

I want Sterling so badly that I will take Kane out for a hit this week.

Can someone convince me not to do it, or confirm that the move is acceptable?

if you expect brooks to play (don't know about his minutes midweek), i'd just play him, great fixture

You could lose Kane for a week to fund the 2 FT.

Why is there such little interest in Trippier? Everyone had him before his injury and now their fixtures are even better. Is there too much rotation risk or something?

it's his ongoing groin injury revelation combined with the fixtures coming thick and fast

Yeah rotation risk mainly. Poch rotates, dare I say it, almost as badly as Pep - worse even sometimes as you expect it less

I got him for a hit this week even before he played 90 minutes, which i did not expect.
      It's a risky one, but ....

Evening all - everything seem in order? 0.2 ITB & planning to roll the FT. Thanks!! Busy with training tomorrow followed by getting hammered for the birthday, so likely won’t be on again before deadline.

That should have been my side this week, but instead I only took a -4 hit last week and brought Son in for Dilva and not Sane and Jimenez for a -8.

      Anyway, gtg!

Ouch! Rough one. Sane in for Dilva was my move last week

        Cheers!

Mate calm doon you posted this a couple of posts up lol.

I personally would (agree with TM) drop Kane maybe for Rashford, then upgrade somewhere else - like Bennett to Alonso, richarlison to Sterling maybe.

Don't like the Laporte pick, bit expensive for a team who always give up 1 goal. I would have Luiz
Or Alonso as per Kane downgrade as per other suggestions

please stop suggesting that selling laporte is a good option. how are we gonna gain massive OR if you keep giving good advise. *wink*

    Wildcard thoughts?

    Ederson
    Dalot - Robertson - Doherty
    Salah - Sane - Son - F. Anderson - Richarlison
    Aubameyang - Chicharito

Hamer - Balbuena - Wan bissaka - Kamara

Hazard or Sterling for Salah for now?
And gives some cash to upgrade elsewhere.
