Form versus fixtures is the age-old debate in Fantasy circles.

Leicester City are without a win in the last five Gameweeks and sit joint-bottom of the Premier League form table over that period, having taken just one point from a possible 15.

The quality of their opposition has to be factored into the equation, however: the Foxes have faced Liverpool, Manchester United and Spurs in their last three Premier League matches and also lost at seventh-placed Wolves in Gameweek 23.

The performances against those top four clubs in the last three Gameweeks have been encouraging, with Liverpool held to a draw and both Manchester United and Spurs perhaps fortunate to emerge from their encounters with Claude Puel’s side with all three points.

Last Sunday’s defeat at Wembley was especially harsh on the Foxes.

No Premier League side had more efforts on target or shots in the box than Puel’s side in Gameweek 26, while only Manchester City carved out more big chances.

Looking ahead, Leicester’s fixtures are among the most favourable in the division – perhaps even the best.

The Foxes are the only club to avoid any of the “big six” in the next nine Gameweeks, with all five of their home matches during that time against teams currently in the bottom half of the table.

Leicester’s defensive options are particularly worthy of consideration for this run.

Despite their recent winless sequence, only five teams have conceded fewer Premier League goals than the Foxes this season.

Crystal Palace are the only non-big six side to have kept more clean sheets, meanwhile.

With that in mind, we will take a look at two potential routes into the Foxes’ backline – both of whom offer the possibility of Fantasy returns at the other end of the pitch, too.

Ricardo Pereira (£5.3m) and Ben Chilwell (£5.0m) have both posted some impressive underlying statistics this season, though Pereira has had more joy from a Fantasy perspective so far given that he has registered eight attacking returns to Chilwell’s three.

We will compare the two full-back options in the Members’ article below, as well as looking at the case of another key component in the Leicester defence: centre-back Harry Maguire (£5.4m).

Very tricky for week after next Gameweek if you already own Auba.

I was going to bring in Aguero for Auba for that Gameweek but Auba has Bournemouth at home which is as easy as you can get. Granted Kun has WH at home but they have better defence than Bournemouth and will have champions league shortly after the game.

Kun has already cost me big time (as an Auba owner) but will be hard to take if I lose Auba for Kun and Auba outscores him.

Looking at selling value in prep for getting rid of blankers, I think the only one I really don't wanna get rid of is Pogba, he'll have risen over 1m since I got him. Maybe AWB and Doherty too, this is gonna be tough.

    1. MTPockets
        7 years, 11 days ago

Indeed. I'm looking at it by going backwards from 33/31, rather than fwd from now.
Both in terms of who to drop last, and who I don't necessarily have to drop at all.

        Have 2nd wildcard = FH DGW32

The weaker the field of options for gw31, the stronger the field of options for dgws 32 and 35, right? Not sure how the Free Hit becomes a better play in a DGW32 or 35 if there are plenty of players to choose from for those DGWs.

Without a WC you need a run up of GW's to prepare for the doubles with FT's. That means people can start bringing in DGW'ers from GW28 and use the FH chip to dodge BGW31. They then have the double GW players for 32 and 35 (albeit early).

I guess my point is that with so many having a DGW, the need to load up early could be reduced if there is such a variety of options.

Who would you be missing out on though?

Can hold a few mci/mun, save FT and do 2/3 for 31.
Aside from that ars, tot don't have greatest 28-30 fixtures anyway.

Considering a bold strategy where I use the wildcard this week. Still FH 32, not ideal for week 35 but think with fixture swing this week and blanks my team will make up the points i.e auba and Aguero next week. Not as many blanks by week 35 anyway. Would like to see how rearranged Chelsea Brighton game fits into things first.

Think I'm settled on what I'm doing for BGW's and DGW's:

Currently have 4 playing in 31. Can get 9 with two hits which I feel will be fine, can always take more hits once BGW33 is confirmed and we know who's definitely playing in it.

Then FH 32, will have planned for 33 and should have similar around 9 players possibly more, then WC 34 BB 35. TC sometime inbetween

          Happy days

Yep, that's the most obvious plan if you have the 2nd WC.

Would love to use TC in DGW but doesn't seem feasible. If only I did it with aguero or sterling..

              What's your plan?

Looks like it, I never really have much luck anyway with it and missed my chance with Aguero so will probably be on Salah or Sterling in a plum fixture

Atm i am on fh31 tc32 wc34 bb35.Fa cup draw could be useful too and chelsea utd result important too

            other 2 alternatives:
            tc32 fh33 wc34 bb35
            and fh32 wc34 bb35 and tc somewhere

That looks like quite a solid plan! So plan for 32 and 33 over the next few weeks, having TC in 32 could be gold.

Your first alternative seems like it might be difficult to pull off - would have to plan your transfers for both 31 and 32

If a -4 to take out a blank player in 31 is only really a -2, and if that player also blanked in 33, does that mean the -4 is really a free transfer ? 🙂

Oh I forgot this all was gonna start again. FWIW, I would see it as a free transfer given certain assumptions and not given other assumptions, so the question depends on circumstance. If you're planning to use the free transfer rationale at this early stage, it's likely that the rationale is not 100% legit, since you could also plan to make a transfer without taking a hit, which makes the "hit is a hit" / "-4 is -4" argument more relevant. It's all going to be a load of pointless drivel like this reply anyway.

Yikes, imagine bringing in Aubameyang and Son in the last two weeks.

Both blanking will almost certainly mean hits to those who have them.

Feel like everyone will take hits in the next few weeks.

I'm tempted to do Sterling -> Son (c) then back to Sterling for GW28 with my FT's, since I don't have a real captain option this week and people chasing me have Son

Do you think this is worth wasting the FT's?

Auba could I suppose be a keeper as he has 33 and a decent match in 32.

The 33 blanks could yet be significant too. Spurs City and United might all be out that as well.
