Form versus fixtures is the age-old debate in Fantasy circles.

Leicester City are without a win in the last five Gameweeks and sit joint-bottom of the Premier League form table over that period, having taken just one point from a possible 15.

The quality of their opposition has to be factored into the equation, however: the Foxes have faced Liverpool, Manchester United and Spurs in their last three Premier League matches and also lost at seventh-placed Wolves in Gameweek 23.

The performances against those top four clubs in the last three Gameweeks have been encouraging, with Liverpool held to a draw and both Manchester United and Spurs perhaps fortunate to emerge from their encounters with Claude Puel’s side with all three points.

Last Sunday’s defeat at Wembley was especially harsh on the Foxes.

No Premier League side had more efforts on target or shots in the box than Puel’s side in Gameweek 26, while only Manchester City carved out more big chances.

Looking ahead, Leicester’s fixtures are among the most favourable in the division – perhaps even the best.

The Foxes are the only club to avoid any of the “big six” in the next nine Gameweeks, with all five of their home matches during that time against teams currently in the bottom half of the table.

Leicester’s defensive options are particularly worthy of consideration for this run.

Despite their recent winless sequence, only five teams have conceded fewer Premier League goals than the Foxes this season.

Crystal Palace are the only non-big six side to have kept more clean sheets, meanwhile.

With that in mind, we will take a look at two potential routes into the Foxes’ backline – both of whom offer the possibility of Fantasy returns at the other end of the pitch, too.

Ricardo Pereira (£5.3m) and Ben Chilwell (£5.0m) have both posted some impressive underlying statistics this season, though Pereira has had more joy from a Fantasy perspective so far given that he has registered eight attacking returns to Chilwell’s three.

We will compare the two full-back options in the Members’ article below, as well as looking at the case of another key component in the Leicester defence: centre-back Harry Maguire (£5.4m).

        Current team is:

        Fabs
        Kolasinac, Perreira, TAA, Doherty
        Salah, Son, FAnderson, Camarasa
        Auba, Rashford

        Steele, Holebas, Siggy, Ings
        Bank 2.5m

So for GW28 was thinking either of these with my FT:

        A) Holebas -> Robbo
        B) Siggy -> Mane

    Alisson
    Robertson - Kolasinac - Doherty - Wan-Bissaka
    Jota - Pogba - Son - Salah
    Rashford - Jiménez

    Hamer - Bednarek - Sterling - Kamara

    1FT - 1.4M ITB

    My plan is to do

    Alisson > Etheridge
    Robertson > Chilwell
    Rashford > Aguero

Would you do any of the first transfers this week? I'm still going to have to -4 next week anyway.

    Any help is much appreciated.

Don't really understand the Liverpool transfers. If you don't plan to FH32 then Etheridge may make sense, but Chilwell less so.

Personal opinion - players you bring in now should consistently either:
              1) Play in 31
              2) (Hopefully) play twice in 32

Poor result IMO. The maximum carnage would have been caused by having fewer blanks and doubles. Because then it leads to uncertainty as to when to play your chips. It is uncertainty that leads to gains.

The game has changed. Now anyone decent knows to hold onto their chips. They will be told when to FH, BB, TC and WC. There will be articles and videos on FFS and the FPL website on the players to pick etc. It was similar last year.

It actually all changed in 2016/17 - when Sanchez was the choice of TC. That was massively highlighted by the FPL Show and the articles on FPL and FFS. That success meant the template strategy was formed.

The debate will be settled after the FA Cup Round 6 draw.

There are many avenues open. With Palace through and ideally Chelsea my game begins

100% agree. 2015/16 was fun because we had no idea when to use chips, as far as I knew there weren’t all these million podcasts and twitter accounts.

I won’t be playing again. Maybe it’s because I had a gap between then and now but the template has performed and thus most weeks have been an utter bore fest.

Anyone going against the template has been punished, and even if you pick out a decent punt, chances are someone on Twitter spots it and boom! Everyone gets them in.
