Form versus fixtures is the age-old debate in Fantasy circles.

Leicester City are without a win in the last five Gameweeks and sit joint-bottom of the Premier League form table over that period, having taken just one point from a possible 15.

The quality of their opposition has to be factored into the equation, however: the Foxes have faced Liverpool, Manchester United and Spurs in their last three Premier League matches and also lost at seventh-placed Wolves in Gameweek 23.

The performances against those top four clubs in the last three Gameweeks have been encouraging, with Liverpool held to a draw and both Manchester United and Spurs perhaps fortunate to emerge from their encounters with Claude Puel’s side with all three points.

Last Sunday’s defeat at Wembley was especially harsh on the Foxes.

No Premier League side had more efforts on target or shots in the box than Puel’s side in Gameweek 26, while only Manchester City carved out more big chances.

Looking ahead, Leicester’s fixtures are among the most favourable in the division – perhaps even the best.

The Foxes are the only club to avoid any of the “big six” in the next nine Gameweeks, with all five of their home matches during that time against teams currently in the bottom half of the table.

Leicester’s defensive options are particularly worthy of consideration for this run.

Despite their recent winless sequence, only five teams have conceded fewer Premier League goals than the Foxes this season.

Crystal Palace are the only non-big six side to have kept more clean sheets, meanwhile.

With that in mind, we will take a look at two potential routes into the Foxes’ backline – both of whom offer the possibility of Fantasy returns at the other end of the pitch, too.

Ricardo Pereira (£5.3m) and Ben Chilwell (£5.0m) have both posted some impressive underlying statistics this season, though Pereira has had more joy from a Fantasy perspective so far given that he has registered eight attacking returns to Chilwell’s three.

We will compare the two full-back options in the Members’ article below, as well as looking at the case of another key component in the Leicester defence: centre-back Harry Maguire (£5.4m).

Doherty injury means I may have to go Keeperless and get some dodgy Leicester defender in far too early.

Or... it means I play Valery v Arsenal

I love the guy but fixtures turn bad from 30 onwards and gotta start offloading some the assets I’ve grown fond of.

My Aguero Rashford Jiminez frontline for example all have a blank now, so players must leave somewhere

I've got no keeper this week either, and the same applies. Gotta take a hit for a keeper no?

Depends really. Who do you currently have ?

I have Ederson and Hamer so feel can justify if I get Boruc in for Hamer as he gets those two extra fixtures. So let’s assume 2 points a game it breaks even .. with the potential to exceed

Nah taking a hit when you’ve no keeper is pointless. Their average ceiling is just too low for the sake of one week.

3 players in my squad have games in week 31 with 3 others still possible. With weekly transfers 27- 31 should be able to navigate or do you think this side will need week 31 FH- wanting to keep until 32 but .... WC BB and TC still held.

Fh in 31 can certainly work. Look at the fixtures . I see some high scoring games there. After 3 Pool you have Bournemouth vs Newcastle. Rafa will go for a win here , will be goals. WH Hudders much the same. This is nothing like the blank we had last season. Yeah even Burnley Leicester could be good

If Palace win then FH 31 looks obvious.

Most teams have Doherty, AWB, Pogba, Son, Jimenez, Auba (getting him for GW27) and Rashford.

That is 7 DGW 32 players already. A few transfers in GW30 and GW32 to get some more DGWers and you can FH in GW31 nicely and be easily set for DGW32.

As usual diesel your point makes great sense but I honestly feel that the thrill of having a week to choose a gw32 "free hit" team with possibly 16 games is part of what this frustrating game we play is about. I favour the FH32 and the WC34 with BB35. Especially if you can minimise the damage gw31 could have on you.
However I will not be fielding a team with anymore than 8/9 dgw'ers. There will not be anyone (except brighton) who have 2 attractive fixtures. Good luck whatever your strategy is.

I think the FA Cup draw will help most settle on a strategy. Liverpool are the interesting team as they have a good GW31 (ful) and most have lots of value (i.e. price rises) in Salah and Robertson. If they are reluctant to sell then GW32 Free Hit may be the way to go as they will want the Liverpool players for GW31.

Free Hit in 31 perhaps and TC in either 32 or 33 when there are DGWs. Probably getting DGW'ers for 32/ 33 in advance before the free hit.
WC and BB for later game weeks. Anyone thinking similar?

Yeah, but there will be fewer blanks. I'm planning to FH GW31, and hopefully in the run up get in 10 DGWers for 32 a few of which play the following week......

Pereira. He could also play OOP at RM if Puel wants to be more defensive. Amartey is due back soon and Albrighton is injured so Pereira offers an option at RM. Particularly if Puel wants to add the attacking talent of Tielemens, Maddison and Barnes but keep the side balanced.

If you had no free hit chip (I know, why did you play it), how would you play your wildcard/TC/BB going forward?

Depends on your team. Manage until GW34 and you can follow the WC then BB strategy.

Wait until after the FA cup draw IMO. But perhaps:

Use FTs to get a good GW31 side
          TC GW32
          Use FT GW33
          WC GW34
          BB GW35

As far as I can see, the GW31 postponements MUST be in GW32 and the GW33 postponements MUST be in GW35 - with the only possible exceptions being for Brighton and possibly Chelsea.

Why? Because you won't know who is playing in GW33 until after GW31 concludes and that is too little notice to bring a GW33 game forward to GW32. So all GW33 postponements must be go to GW35. And then it would be stupid to put GW31 postponements into GW35 when you have GW32 available

Brighton is more tricky. I think ONE of the games vs Chelsea or vs Cardiff will be played in GW32. The other will go back to GW35 in the "hope" Brighton don't win in GW31. If Brighton also win in GW31 then GW35 will be a TGW.

For Chelsea read the same as Brighton. If they lose tomorrow no problems - they will play Brighton in one of GW32 or GW35. If they win in GW31 but lose in GW33 there is no problem - they play an extra game in both GW32 and GW35. If they win tomorrow and win in GW31 Chelsea will have a TGW in GW35

I've probably overlooked something obvious! Educate me if so please.

Last season. Without FA Cup QF results, placing games is less Ideal.

There are two weeks between 31 and 32 (international break)
That may make switches-around more possible - getting the fixtures after the cup quarter finals.

If there is a need for a 4th DGW it could be played in GW36 or GW37, UEFA have allowed PL teams to play in European weeks in previous season (including 2017 and 2018) when fixture congestion has been problematic.

So many now swaying to using FH in 31 now? I have all chips intact and no clue when to deploy them yet.

Rather use such a powerful chip to pick a DGW 11 with as much information as possible, than picking up duds in a BGW.

It really depends on your team, no one way works for all. If there's 4/5 games I'll be happy to roll into it with 8/9 players and FTs used.
